Rank: Kit
Picture: Kit 1 - Kit 2 - Adult 1 - Adult 2
Description:
More or less a miniature version of his father, Gustkit has inherited nearly every part of Windstrike’s appearance. He boasts a handsome silvery gray pelt, which is usually clean only due to his mother’s efforts, covered with black stripes. The tom is not the largest tom in LightningClan, taking after both of his parents in this aspect, though he does not have the same almost-dainty appearance of his mother. Apart from the lack of battle scars littering his body, the only real noticeably different feature that separates him from Windstrike are his eyes. Instead of a bright yellow, Gustkit’s eyes are a mixture of both his mother’s and father’s eyes, resulting in a vivid yellow-green. Much to his frustration, he seems to have missed the gene that gives LightningClan cats their natural grace. Though traces of it do linger in his movements, grace and balance are not the tom’s forte. They are usually hindered by his high energy, constant motion, and habit of rushing.
Description Summary: A small, silver tabby tom with yellow-green eyes
Personality:
Healthy and full of energy, this tom has already developed quite a personality. Destined for the spotlight, for better or for worse, he does not have the temperament required to stay in the background. Though he does not go out of his way to receive special attention, he will bask in any praise offered, and then, depending on the cat who gave it, he may proceed to strut around camp inform others of his accomplishments. He does this not out of malicious intent, but rather to quell an almost subconscious fear and reassure himself.
Even though his behavior may not suggest insecurity, Gustkit ultimately fears that others will consider him weak, and therefore useless. In order to prevent any from forming this opinion, he will go to almost any length to prove his strength. To him, masculinity equates strength, and he tries to eradicate any similarities between himself and she-cats. Though he does not find them disgusting or revolting, felines of the other gender tend to bore him; if they do not do that, then he finds them confusing. Either way, he prefers the company of toms to the company of she-cats. However, the number of battle scars a warrior has negates his preference in companions. Male or female, warriors with the most scars littering their pelt fascinate him, for those scars are a sign of their strength and resilience. For his own peace of mind, Gustkit has to be the best at everything and will continue work to perfect a skill even if doing so is detrimental to his health. For this reason, the desire for strength and power, ironically, is a major weakness of his.
Rowdy and unable to sit still for more than a moment, the young tom has to have something to entertain him and keep him busy. While he prefers physical activities, he will gladly accept challenges of an intellectual nature. Should boredom strike him, Gustkit, with a combination of an adventurous streak and intelligence, is a recipe for trouble. Even though he does not go looking for trouble, his inability to sit still and curiosity – not to mention his need to prove himself – will no doubt drive him into unpleasant situations, which he will then muddle through and attempt to fix himself. And even if the predicaments he finds himself in scare him – which happens often – he will never admit it. Likewise, if he requires assistance, it is unlikely that he will ever ask for it. Even if he manages to bypass his need to be seen as strong, his pride will prevent him from outright asking for help.
However, beneath his tough guy mask, the tom does have a large heart. Despite his attempts at hiding it – such emotion is weak, after all – as a kit, it tends to shine through anyway. By nature, he is a good cat and means well, even if his actions and words seem to show otherwise.

History:
Born toward the start of Leaf-fall, Gustkit is fortunate enough to enter into the world as a part of an ideal family situation. Windstrike and Dovesong are experienced parents, both having raised Dovesong’s previous litter, and it is clear that they are still head over heels for each other. He has three step-siblings, Icewhisker, Frostfire, and Snowpaw/cloud, with whom he will hopefully get along. Gustkit’s littermates consist of two other toms, Blazekit and Pigeonkit, and a lone she-cat, Galekit.
From the start, it became clear that the four kits would pair off. Pigeonkit soon developed a competitive relationship with Blazekit, and though he did not hesitate to join in any of their play fights, he was unable to completely leave Galekit alone. Making her an exception to his general avoidance of the opposite gender, Gustkit forged a close bond with his sister.
