[googlefont=Playfair Display,900][googlefont=Nunito,400,400i,700,700i][googlefont=Space Mono] MYSTERIOUS AS THE MIST mistclan deputy auditions [attr="class","cp cp-shooting-star"] introduction Hey, everyone! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the auditions for MistClan deputy - I have been very excited to open auditions for Cloverstar's played deputy for quite some time, but let me preface with a few things here. (1) Cloverstar is a complex character, and if you are applying to be her deputy, it's likely your character will eventually develop a close relationship with her. Please consider whether the character you have in mind will mesh well with the kind of personality Cloverstar presents to her Clan - a cat that's naïve, skittish, overly aggressive, or overbearing in personality in any way is unlikely to be a candidate in her eyes. (2) Cloverstar is going to pick a deputy that has at least one or more of the following traits: social and friendly, strong moral compass, decisive, quick-witted, passionate, good-humored, or empathetic. She is not interested in a deputy that is anti-social, a show-off, or someone who has a skewed moral compass. Already got that covered Clover, amiright?
Basically, she's looking for someone that can offer a perspective she could never see without them. Her preferences will probably change in the future as she starts losing her lives, which could result in some spicy leader/deputy clashing drama. >D But, in the beginning at least, I would like for them to work like a well-oiled machine! Cloverstar will expect her deputy to fill her in on the social dynamics of their Clanmates, an area she's really lacking in because she doesn't personally care about them lmao. She does want to do right by her Clan, as long as the right thing aligns with the most logical option. She just needs someone to tell her what the right thing is. All of that said, it's likely that her deputy will get a good look at who Cloverstar really is sooner or later. Now that she's made it to leader she lets the mask slip now and then, and with someone as close as a deputy it's likely they'd get to see her with the mask off most often.
requirements & rules [attr="class","cp cp-certificate"] And now onto the rules! Remember that there is an activity requirement for playing a high rank, so please consider if you would be able to hit those requirements before applying. You may answer the prompts as IC posts or simply explain how your character would respond in an OOC format. Good luck to everyone who plans on participating! Auditions will be open until April 10th at 11:59pm CST, after which this thread will be locked until a decision is announced.- Your account on the site must be at least one month old.
- You must have made at least thirty posts.
- Your cat must have mentored at least one apprentice either in roleplay or in their history.
- Your cat should be at least thirty moons old, but if you have a younger cat you'd like to apply (who otherwise meets the qualifications and is a strong candidate), Cloverstar would consider them.
- You must not already be playing a leader, deputy, cave-guard leader or prey-hunter leader.
- Players who have a medicine cat are allowed to participate, but those who do not yet have a HR are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Applicants can be from any Clan, so long as they intend to live in MistClan.
[attr="class","cp cp-crown"] duties & responsibilities Before deciding if you should apply your character to become MistClan's deputy, please consider the new IC role your cat will play in the roleplay, as well as the new role you yourself will play in our community. These tasks will be your responsibility, so be sure that you'll be able to stay on top of them before you apply for this role! [attr="class","cp cp-heart"]OOC DUTIES- You will be required to post at least three times a month as your deputy.
- Alongside the leader, you will have to help manage the training tracker of MistClan and keep up with the progress of kits and apprentices.
- If, for whatever reason, I am unavailable for an extended period of time, you will be the next person people go to when making decisions for MistClan. This can include choosing mentors for apprentices, speaking for MistClan to move any major plots forward, choosing a Gathering patrol/replacing Cloverstar in Gathering posts if necessary, etc.
- Your character will be responsible for helping to make decisions for MistClan that can affect the future of the roleplay.
- You will be expected to brainstorm with the current MistClan leader, staff, and the other HRs on plot ideas for MistClan.
- About once a season, I would like for your deputy and Cloverstar to have a thread together about whatever we can come up with! I would love to build their relationship and create a unique leader/deputy dynamic so threading together will be a big part of that.
IC DUTIES- As Clan deputy, you are in charge of maintaining the day-to-day life of MistClan, and involving Cloverstar when the need calls for it. Also, you will be the go-to individual in the Clan for general conflict resolution.
- For the most part, you will oversee the training of apprentices and check in with mentors on how training is progressing. You'll decide when assessments will occur and report to Cloverstar when the apprentice is ready for their warrior ceremony.
- You will be expected to perform in place of Cloverstar if she is otherwise incapable - for example, if she's fallen ill or she's severely injured.
- You are in charge of organizing border patrols and hunting patrols. Your warriors will report to you, and you'll be expected to collect information like what prey was found where (make sure areas are not overhunted), if there are any predators about and making note of their movements, and the activities of any non-MistClan cats seen or encountered on your land. You will also report to Cloverstar at the end of each day.
- You will help Cloverstar decide on the best mentors for new apprentices, which means getting to know the kits and their parents a little. This is mostly Cloverstar's job, but you're her leader-in-training so you get to do some of it too!
- Especially in the beginning with MistClan's formation, an important job will be to organize training sessions for all warriors so they can learn how to (1) swim and fish, if they are not formerly RainClan, (2) hunt and patrol at night, if they are not formerly NightClan, and (3) any other new skills that can be learned and shared between everyone in the Clan.
scenarios & prompts [attr="class","cp cp-clapperboard"] SCENARIO I[attr="class","cp cp-paw"] It is mid-Greenleaf, and you've been spending all season organizing swimming lessons for cats not formerly from RainClan. Cloverstar is firm that all cats must learn, even if they are afraid of or repulsed by water, so most cats have learned by now. However, you have noticed that one warrior in particular has skipped his swimming lessons or otherwise found some other excuse to get out of them for over a moon now. You suspect Pinestep is afraid of swimming, and doesn't wish to make a fool of himself in front of his Clanmates. After confronting him about it, he confesses that you're right but still refuses to swim, and explains that he was drowned by another cat when he was younger. The event was traumatic for him, and ever since mandatory swimming lessons began he's been having dreadful nightmares about it. You know Cloverstar would likely not have any sympathy for Pinestep and would not exempt him from learning to swim - how do you proceed? SCENARIO II [attr="class","cp cp-drop"] It is the height of Greenleaf, and GaleClan and GorgeClan are both suffering from a drought in their territories. MistClan’s lake has shrunk, but there is still plenty of water for them—and for every Clan. Both Clans have sent a patrol to request permission to drink at the lake, and Cloverstar told both patrols she would give them her answer at the Gathering in a couple nights. Now it is the day of the Gathering, and Cloverstar invites you to her den, where she reveals that she plans to exploit the other Clans’ weakness by demanding favors like hunting rights on the other territories in exchange for permission to drink from the lake. No cat in MistClan is going hungry with much of the territories' prey on their territory due to the lake being the only water source in the valley, not to mention the fish in it, so MistClan stands to gain little from something that's likely a power move on Cloverstar's part. It is a deputy’s responsibility to challenge their leader if they feel they are not acting in the best interest of the Clans, and moreover it is Cloverstar’s expectation that her deputy would say something if they felt she was making a moral misstep. Do you confront Cloverstar about her plan, and if so, how do you approach the matter? What other reasonable alternatives can you offer her? SCENARIO III[attr="class","cp cp-squirrel"] There are so many new apprentices in the Clan this season that you have your paws full, and over half the Clan seems to be a mentor. You don’t have time to monitor all the apprentices’ assessments, but you try the best you can. A young warrior, Leaftail, has told you that his apprentice, Kitepaw, passed her assessment and is ready to become a warrior. However, when you join a hunting patrol with Kitepaw the next day, you notice she misses three catches, and ends up taking nothing home when the patrol finishes. For an apprentice ready to become a warrior, this is strange. One or two missed catches are bad luck, but three seems to indicate a lack of skill. You begin to suspect Leaftail has lied about how ready Kitepaw is, and before you return to camp, you ask her how much time Leaftail has spent training her to hunt. Kitepaw looks uncomfortable and nervous, and doesn’t look at you when she tells you Leaftail spent lots of time training her to hunt. She is obviously lying, which seems to imply Leaftail has spent little time training with her. How do you confront Leaftail about this? [attr="class","cp cp-clipboard"] application template Here is the code you will use for your application. Please fill out all information, but when it comes to the prompts/scenarios you need only complete one of them. However, you are more than welcome to complete all of them if you wish! Also, if you have any trouble at all with the code in the template, let me know! If you're mainly a mobile user, feel free to send me your answers and I can fill it out for you. [googlefont=Playfair Display,900][googlefont=Nunito,400,400i,700,700i][googlefont=Space Mono] [attr="class","grclangrad"]1 MY APPLICATION FOR mistclan deputy [attr="class","cp cp-info"] basic information Name: Crowstalker Age:34 Gender: Male Biography: Link.Clan: NightClan Rank: WARRIOR Former apprentice(s): Berrypaw general questions [attr="class","cp cp-question"] - Why do you want to take this position?
I've always wanted to have a higher position on the site and when this came up, I was ecstatic about finally being able to prove my worth and wanting to prove that I can be useful. I have had many sites in the past where I have managed staff and high ranking potions so I believe I would have enough experience to do what I need to do with Crowstalker. To help both IC and OOC situations. - What traits do you believe would make your character a good fit for deputy of MistClan?
Crowstalker is a loyal and dedicated warrior. He would die for his clan and for his leader, which would make him a perfect candidate for the job. He is a very intelligent cat and I can see him developing strong bones with the cats of his clan with becoming deputy. To also note he is extremely loyal to Cloverstar especially and I can see their bond getting stronger if he was picked. He is also very honest with his opinions and can easily be a very approachable cat if someone needs someone to talk too. - What flaws does your character possess that might impact their role as deputy?
Crowstalker can come off as a little abrasive. Many would believe him to be more brawn than brains, with a hunger for battle than for anything else. Another big flaw is that he's very blunt and honest about his opioions. While this is a good thing, its also a bad thing. He does not know how to turn off his honest/blunt remarks. He lets his words, literally speak for him, and will not sugar coat anything to save anyone's feelings. He's also a very competietive and jealous cat, though he likes to believe he can hide these traits well. He does not like anyone outdoing him in ANYTHING. Its a possible sign that he's pretty young for the position also (he's 34 moons, its young lol) - Can you see your character becoming Clan leader one day? If so, what kind of Clan leader would they be? Do you have any ideas for their leadership?
I personally can see him mellowing out and becoming more responsible if he chosen for the position. That means with experience, it also comes with responsibilty. Crowstalker is a natural leader and with Cloverstar's teachings, he would be a great leader. He would lead, kindly and would respect the clan that he loves. He would be loyal to them and would do everything in their best interest. The most challenging thing I can see for him, would be trying not to push himself onto the other leaders/clans. He would be an overprotective father to his clan and would be pretty determined to keep them all safe. In true Crowstalker fashion, the other clans don't really matter too him, AT ALL. Their wellbeing are second to his clan and that's it and that's all. As for his intentions for the clan, I would definitely see him attemptingn to expand the clan's territory down the road and through IC events. Whether this goes well, well only StarClan would know LOL As for my ideas for his possible rule, at the moment I do not have any true goals set in stone or things I would like to happen. I could definately see myself getting inspired as the roleplay continues IC of course. - Are you confident that you will be able to maintain activity as deputy?
I am very confident in my abilities in maintaining my activity as deputy, if Crowstalker was picked for the position. [attr="class","cp cp-paw"] scenario I Crowstalker listened silently to the warrior as he spoke. Drinking in the details with vast curiosity and interest. As the other warrior faded off into a soft silence, Crowstalker let out a small sigh, before leveling Pinestep off with a small but level stare. There was no anger or anything of the sort behind those amber eyes of his. Let alone any sort of judgement. While he was not accustomed to such turmoil from his own past, he could certainly sympathize with what the other warrior was going through.
Still. Cloverstar, was adament about wanting every cat to learn to swim and Crowstalker would not disappoint her, in carrying out her wishes. Taking a step forward, he wrapped his tail around the shoulders of the other warrior, before settling down besides him. He looked to him, and parted his maw to speak, a second later. "I understand you're reasons for not wanting to learn how to swim, Pinestep" He started simply and the other warrior nodded, averting his eyes down to the ground in embarrassment. Crowstalker, wasn't done however and pushed on in his words, "Unfortunately Cloverstar wants everyone to learn to swim, because it is an important skill that must be learned"
"But-" Pinestep, had started to speak, and had even returned his attention back towards Crowstalker. There was an edge of almost panic, in the other warrior's tone, that had gotten the deputy's attention. A quick flick of the black tom's ear, seemed to be enough of a signal, that stated without words that Crowstalker wasn't finished. Clearing his throat, the deputy went on, "I understand your hesitation to wanting to do, but I must insist that you do it" There was a small pause before an idea came to the deputy. "In fact, I think you could benefit from swimming lessons in fact"
When all he got from Pinestep, was a blank yet confused stare, Crowstalker continued on, "I can personally arrange some lessons with one of our stronger swimmers who can easily help you and I can attend with you. Because, just between you and me, I'm not the best swimmer myself, so I can benefit from this as well. So what do you say? Will you at least try this idea, please, Pinestep?"
The other warrior seemed to be almost caught off guard at the idea but after a moment, a small smile crept to his lips. "Well...um, as long as no one else knows about the lessons, I'm more than willing to at least give it a try. As long as the water isn't too deep..."
Crowstalker offered his own smile and a nod in response. "Of course, I'll make sure that it wont be, and don't worry, I promise to be there with you at each step of the way" Pinestep, responded with another nod and an even bigger smile. All Crowstalker could do in response was smile back.
scenario II [attr="class","cp cp-squirrel"] "Cloverstar" crowstalker began simply after this plan fell from his leader's maw. "I do not believe this is the right thing to do" While Crowstalker did his best not to go against his leader's thoughts or ideals, and the truth was that his feelings about the other clans predicaments were not of his highest ideals. He sensed that his former mentor was not doing this for the right reason. They were not suffering through this drought and in fact MistClan was thriving. They held their own prey, the clan was well fed and stocked with plenty of water. To him, there was no purpose of demanding such things from the other clans. Unless time called for the necessity of it.
Of course he could understand her reasons for it. But still...
"This will not benefit the clan at all, compared to the other clans, our food supply is not under attack and has not been demolished. I do not believe that we need to demand the other clan leaders to give us access to their prey, when we do not need it" He paused to stare at her, before letting out a sigh, "Even with my lack of relationships with the other clans, we do not need to push ourselves upon them for fake hosptality that we do not need at the moment. Now, I understand why you would do this, but I suggest we wait when we actually need a favor from them, to bring up what we did for them here. IF MistClan has something happen to its prey, then we ask for a hunting parties favors in exchange. Until a real problem arises, why complicate things with mindless things we do not need at the moment?"
[attr="class","cp cp-drop"] scenario III The day was a humid one, as the sun began to slowly pull itself down the horizon, signaling a change from day to night. Crowstalker sat perched outside the camp's entrance, waiting the arrival of one particular warrior in question. It had been but an hour or so, since his conversation with the young apprentice, Kitepaw and in that short range of time, the deputy's suspicions of her mentor only seemed to grow. Why would Leaftail lie so easily about training her if he hadn't done so? It was a question, he planned on getting an answer too, right now. As the soft hue of sunlight began to descend down even more, pawsteps approaching drew the deputy's attention. The familiar markings of the warrior, in question, came into view alongside the hunting party he had ventured off to join, earlier that day. Crowstalker noted the huge amount of prey caught as the warriors passed him, dipping their heads in greeting and yet as Leaftail was doing the same, the deputy quickly stepped into his line of crossing. Amber eyes glued on the warrior intently. Feeling eyes upon him, from behind, the deputy waved his tail, dismissing the others to on, while he talked to Leaftail.
When the two were finally alone and the last pawstep had dwindled from earshot, would Crowstalker return his attention back to the warrior in front of him. "Leaftail." He started simply, slowly settling down onto his hunches, wrapping his tail around his paws, "We need to talk about Kitepaw" From his postion, the deputy had taken notice of the widenng of eyes and the sudden twitch of the other warrior's tail. Slowly, the other tom would lower his prey, from his mouth, to the ground. A small grin was quick to flick to the other warrior's maw. An action of obvious disinterest or was he going to play it off again? Crowstalker didn't have to wait long for the answer.
"Oh, yes! I heard you were with her on a hunt this morning, I am sure she did excell-"
"She messed catching three times, Leaftail" Crowstalker interrupted casually, flicking his tail. He noted the sudden steeling of the other warrior and the sudden glance to the side, but it seemed he was still trying to play it off as nothing. "Well, she's still a great hunter, I mean, what are three misses, I mean, I missed this" A paw gestured at the tiny vole laying at his side, before the tom began to speak again, "Twice but still managed to catch it, so what's the big deal...?"
"The big deal is," Crowstalker started, his eyes narrowing, as he moved to approach the other tom, who was quick to backstep in response, "Is that, while it is uncommon for a cat, especially an apprentice, to miss at least once or twice. The very notion of her missing a piece of prey three times is unheardful-"
"Are you calling my teaching into question!" The other warrior growled, baring his teeth into a toothy snarl. Crowstalker did not raise to the bait however, "No, I am merely asking you, why do you think she's ready to become a warrior, if she can't even catch prey?" The black tom, shifted his head to the side at his own opposing question. "You are aware that an apprentice that can't even catch prey is not ready to become a warrior, but yet you insisted on wanting her to become one....the question is why? That's all I want to know..."
Leaftail was quiet after that; the anger that seemed to have come out of nowhere a moment before, seemingly draining away at the question. He lowered his eyes to the ground then, both his tail and ears following. Several moments passed before he finally spoke up again. Some of the old anger coming back but this time not directed at Crowstalker, "I...she's...impossible to teach. I mean, she tries to do what I tell her, but she doesn't seem to follow any of the directions, I tell her to do...it's frustrating!!"
Crowstalker let out a small sigh in response. While he did not understand the depths of the warrior's frustration with his apprentice, he knew what it was like to TRAIN one himself. His own apprentice, was talented and obviously held the grace of her mother, Crowstalker could at least sympathize when it came to training a young paw. Yet certainly not the frustration that Leaftail was enduring however. "I understand the hardship, Leaftail, but she needs to be properly trained to hunt. We need our apprentices to become warriors that can provide and serve our clan with the best of their abilities. Kitepaw, is not ready to become a warrior until she can hunt without missing prey..."
The other warrior nodded and let out a loud sigh, "Yes, I understand but...she's still so frustrating to deal with!"
"Well," Crowstalker started, "I'm sure she's also frustrated with what is happening as well. I have an idea, how about I go along with you both for a few hutning sessions and I can see about helping you both with the issue"
"You would do that for us?" The other tom asked with a widening of eyes. Crowstalker did not hessite and nodded his head. "Of course I would, I can even bring Berrypaw, so that she can help with Kitepaw's training"
"That would be great! Thank you so much Crowstalker!"
Crowstalker nodded ind gestured towards Leaftail's prey. "You're welcome, now lets get that to the pile, and then we can head out for some training" With that stated the two turned and ventured into camp.

[googlefont=Playfair Display,900][googlefont=Nunito,400,400i,700,700i][googlefont=Space Mono] [attr="class","grclangrad"]1 MY APPLICATION FOR mistclan deputy [attr="class","cp cp-info"] basic information Name: Stormripple Age: 63 Moons Gender: Male Biography: Link.Clan: NightClan Rank: Senior Warrior Former apprentice(s): Deerheart general questions [attr="class","cp cp-question"] - Why do you want to take this position?
I've always had a soft spot for loner characters who push themselves through the ridicule and mockery of being non-clan-born to rise and prove worthy. The makeup of one's ability and dedication makes a good warrior. Stormripple, while a bit more dramatic and more reflective, is still a loyal warrior to MistClan and wants to see the Clan unite under Cloverstar's leadership for a different, better future. Why I want to play a deputy is that I believe and have seen the benefits of fully stocked high ranks bringing the activity of a clan up. The more plots/ideas/roleplay, the more interest in the group, which ultimately drives up the fun had on a roleplay site. Filling a spot and working toward an active Clan will ripple out to other groups. - What traits do you believe would make your character a good fit for deputy of MistClan?
Stormripple, as I've mentioned, is pretty dramatic, but I feel in age he has mellowed out but not without some flare. He is undoubtedly a more talkative member, happy to engage with his fellow clanmates and get to know them. He is personable and charming enough to make him easy to talk to. In addition, he is careful with the knowledge he has been given and can keep secrets for the benefit of his clanmates and his leader. - What flaws does your character possess that might impact their role as deputy?
Stormripple's flaw remains in his insecurity, which is leftover from his upbringing in the more strict NightClan, where one's birth matter more than one's actions. Nevertheless, Stormripple has the makings of a deputy that expects perfection but is willing to aid in the progress toward it. - Can you see your character becoming Clan leader one day? If so, what kind of Clan leader would they be? Do you have any ideas for their leadership?
Stormripple is unlikely to become a leader of MistClan as he and Cloverstar are the same age. Yet, but if unforeseen circumstances, he does. Stormripple would work carefully to see Cloverstar's plan to their end before starting his projects and goals for MistClan. Stormripple is careful, and a visionary with a focus applied to the long-term of MistClan's health and success. He would want MistClan to live on without him with little upset upon his pacing. To Stormripple, a successful and noteworthy leader is one whose death doesn't destroy the Clan. If the Clan can pick up right after his passing and carry on, then he did his job well. - Are you confident that you will be able to maintain activity as deputy?
I'll be realistic; I'm in grad school, but I can make time, especially now that I can use my work laptop for replies. [attr="class","cp cp-paw"] scenario I
"This is the third time Pinestep has said he was helping the elders with their fleas," The thought occurred to Stormripple as he sat on the opposite side of the embankment where cats were swimming during the day's lesson. His own pelt was already damping from being the first to swim to the other side. "Owlfrost, trade me spots I need to head into camp," The tabby she-cat turned and nodded with an agreement before jumping into the water, Stormripple already heading back.
His arrival back at camp met with minimal upheaval. The camp was mostly quiet; a few elders were sunning themselves—Pinestep out of sight. Stormripple greeted one of the elders to inquire about Pinestep and learned the warrior had ventured off to collect new bedding. With perfect timing, Pinestep returned just as Stormripple prepared to seek him out. "Let's chat; I'll help you with your nest," The offer was friendly, and the two entered the warrior's den; Pinestep was set to work, Stormripple started the conversations. "Have you met with old RainClan for a swim lesson?" Pinestep shook his head; Stormripple pressed further. "It's not all the bad, sort of like chewing watermint for fleas, something you just have to do," Stormripple's comment was casual, but he noticed right away Pinestep's ears pin back. "What's wrong?"
The floodgate broke, Pinestep spoke of a traumatic incident in his youth. Stormripple couldn't hide the shock that came across his face. "I am so sorry that happened to you, and I sympathize I do, but knowing the basics could be the difference between life and death, not only for you but your Clanmates," Stormripple had been careful with his choice of words, attempting to appeal to Pinestep's loyalty. "If you want more one on one, I'm sure we can ask someone and I can be there as well if that would make you more comfortable," Pinestep seemed to consider it, but his ears remained pinned back, Stormripple gave a gentle flick of his tail to Pinestep's flank. " You are not alone and you will get through it" He offered a genuine smile as he returned to the task of aiding Pinestep in renewing his bedding. He knew sooner or later he'd have to apply pressure to Pinestep to follow through with the training but he also wanted to honor his bravery for coming to terms with his shortcomings, and so for the time being Stormripple let the talk rest and let the busy work occupy their minds.
scenario II [attr="class","cp cp-squirrel"] "...she is wrong," Stormripple came to the conclusion in the midst of their conversation, his tail lashed a surface displace of his contempt for Cloverstar's idea. The thought of withholding such a precious thing, something all life needed, bordered on madness. "No, I won't support this Cloverstar. It is wrong to selfishly guard something that every living thing needs," He spoke plainly, shifting only slightly as he ensured his physical stance was as steady as his convictions. "If you want something to gain, take the praise and gratitude you will receive for showing mercy. Every cat in the valley will speak a blessing as they drink their fill and survive." It was a vain attempt, he knew that, to appeal to Cloverstar's humanity. It was clear to him that there wasn't much to build upon, but still, he had to try. "Perhaps this show of goodwill can benefit us later down the road if MistClan ever needs aid. I believe they would be more inclined given that we didn't require something upfront. The leaders will not forget their Clans survived by the grace of us, and so when we call upon them they will act," His suggestion, half-hearted as it was sprouted forth from years spent looking at every angle; thinking of ways to appeal to the masses. His way to ensure that his name would be spoken by friendly tongues. MistClan could also benefit from his approach. "I hope that you take the higher ground and use it to our advantage in the future. Look to the many moons ahead of us opposed to what tomorrow could bring. Please Cloverstar, heed my advice." [attr="class","cp cp-drop"] scenario III "Leaftail I need to speak with you, Now" Stormripple's voice was void of usual sweetness and so when Leaftail turned at the sound of his voice the rest of the came had fallen silent. The young warrior joined up with Stormripple who flicked his tail for them to follow away from the bustle of camp center to a more private space to converse. "I hunted with Kitepaw today," Stormripple wasted no time, Leaftail went whale-eyed for a moment but tried quickly to shake it off.
"Oh did-"
"Do you think this is a game? A play at life?" Stormripple cut him off quickly, Leaftail opened his mouth to defend himself but Stormripple silenced him with a half-covered snarl. "To be a mentor is a great honor, the chance to have an impact on the next generation of warriors. To improve upon our the lessons you learned and so better our Clan," It was clear by his words alone how serious Stormripple took mentoring. How Leaftail's actions were near to being a slap in the face. "Not only did you slack on teaching Kitepaw, but expected her to lie, to cover for you! For what gain Leaftail?" Stormripple's temper, a rare sight, had emerged. His eyes narrowed and his tail lashed.
"I want-"
"No excuse you could give me would justify your actions. You failed and put your own selfish wants ahead of your apprentice and so ahead of your Clan," Stormripple had fluffed out considerably, making the gradually cowering Leaftail seem tiny.
"I will ask Cloverstar to formally reassign Kitepaw to a mentor and ask that you not be considered for the role until you can prove that you will take it seriously. I don't think you fully understand the gravity of it all. Kitepaw could have died" Angry as he was, Stormripple retained his dramatics and to his advantage, it kept Leaftail's attention. "If her hunting skills luck what's to say her battle skills are any better. Could you face her mother after knowingly sending her kit off with lacking skills? "
"I didn't mean -"
"It doesn't matter what you mean, it's how you acted. Your actions are what matters," Stormripple, had no want to listen to Leaftail but instead kept up his verbal lashing. "I hope you take this as a lesson, your life isn't the only thing that matters. Others depend on you, Kitepaw depended on you," Stormripple temper seemed to shimmer down as he notice Leaftail with his head bowed and ears back. Defeated. "Good,".
"Go find something to do while I speak to Cloverstar," He dismissed Leaftail without a second glance, moving past him and toward Cloverstar's den.

[googlefont=Playfair Display,900][googlefont=Nunito,400,400i,700,700i][googlefont=Space Mono] [attr="class","grclangrad"]1 MY APPLICATION FOR mistclan deputy [attr="class","cp cp-info"] basic information Name: Koisplash. Age: Twenty eight moons. Gender: Molly. Biography: Link.Clan: RainClan. Rank: Warrior. Former apprentice(s): Creekpaw. general questions [attr="class","cp cp-question"] - Why do you want to take this position?
I had done a few leadership positions and staff positions on my own forum and a previous forum I was a part of but never had the chance for a deputy position other than on my own site. I haven't been around as long as others on here and would feel honored if I was chosen for the position. I have experience dealing with both of the mentioned OOC and IC responsibilities. I have consistently engaged and appreciated playing a high positioned character, as I enjoy bringing some drama or just entertainment to the table. From the moment I created Koisplash, I hoped for an opportunity to make her a high rank. - What traits do you believe would make your character a good fit for deputy of MistClan?
Understood as the energetic and gregarious feline, Koisplash is capable of apprehending when enough is enough, able to flip a switch in her crania within moments. She isn’t overbearing though, she is just very consciously aware. She has enough energy to drive herself forward even after restless nights. The molly can accomplish tasks efficiently and successfully with no distractions. Quick to shake her unpractical energy, she can be persuasive and headstrong, making it nearly impossible for others to challenge what she has to say. The only feline she'd willingly allow to challenge her would be one of higher authority, Cloverstar. With ambition driving her determination, she would fixate on creating unity under Cloverstar's reign. She would want to watch her leader flourish, honored to follow beneath her. Koisplash would typically be seen on the outside as foolish but will always be down to earth in utmost circumstances. Not only does her loyalty dive deep, but she is amiable toward those she cares for, that being the clan as an entirety, despite what's been brought amongst everyone. The clans were now three, where NightClan and RainClan merged together, constructing MistClan. She wanted the best for absolutely everyone; whether she was familiar with them, she felt destined to be. Due to her persuasive persona, she is quick to detect lies and manipulative intentions, as she's had some reckless moments in the past. She utilizes her past experiences in the present, as she no longer intentionally manipulates and lies to others. Her mostly easygoing personality can benefit the clan when it comes to quick decisions, caution, and bringing everyone together. - What flaws does your character possess that might impact their role as deputy?
Picking apart Koisplash's flaws, her energy isn’t likely to compel others away or make them uncomfortable as she’s not overbearing. Occasionally, there are days when she discovers herself more overloaded than usual, masking her fuel in silence. Koisplash would attempt to get away from others, an escape to the territory, even if exclusively for a few moments. If incapable, she would grow intolerant, causing her to find a reason to snap, whether it be taken out on herself or someone else. As she ages, perhaps this will be more controlled, especially if chosen for the deputy position. She has tons of room to grow and improve. Koisplash's short temper could undoubtedly get in the way, as she won't tolerate much for long, primarily if she's feeling interrogated. During those more strenuous days, Koisplash is not as charismatic as she's generally envisioned and lacks the emotion to manage others' feelings. This could astonish others, as she's typically noticed as this happy-go-lucky figure. She can be abrupt and forthright to the point, conveying in a realistic way how things are, caring less for how it would be taken. She can be very inquisitive, but only in her mind, will she be questioning things. The reason being, is she doesn’t want to come off nosy, though, she’s just thinking deeply, not wanting to jump to conclusions. - Can you see your character becoming Clan leader one day? If so, what kind of Clan leader would they be? Do you have any ideas for their leadership?
Yes, I could see Koisplash eventually becoming the leader one day if she makes it that far. By possibility, if Koisplash makes it to the day, during her reign as deputy during Cloverstar's leadership, she would construct memorable decisions and take new opportunities to improve herself daily, whether spiritually, physically, or even mentally. Koisplash would be sure to get to know each individual within her Clan to the best of her ability, as she enjoyed a good conversation. Surprisingly ingenious for her age, she would solely grow more intellectual and knowledgeable about the traits she already possesses. Under her reign, it presumably wouldn't be much different than Cloverstar's, but perhaps after Cloverstar is out of the picture, Koisplash would descend into something anew, whether it will bring her forward or backward, straying far from Cloverstar's origin. It mainly depends on how she will evolve alongside Cloverstar's flank. Toward the Clan, she would remain the friendly, sociable deputy they once knew; she would constantly toil at doing what was best for the Clan. I could see her attempting to keep the peace between her and the other clans, preventing as many quarrels as possible. However, if there is a correct time, she would definitely show no mercy, considering her own Clan's thoughts. Overall, I am not entirely sure how Koisplash will turn out after Cloverstar's reign, so my ideas for the future will probably expand after IC play. - Are you confident that you will be able to maintain activity as deputy?
If Koisplash is chosen, I plan to be more active than ever. I could see myself writing multiple posts a season, wanting to engage her and explore her more as a deputy. Since she's younger, there's plenty of growth to be made. I can undoubtedly maintain all responsibilities given to a high position; they're my favorite to play, lmao. [attr="class","cp cp-paw"] scenario I It was another day of swimming lessons, Koisplash's favorite method of entertaining herself. She was horrendous at hunting but excelled more in fishing since the water is where she flourished. The mademoiselle swallowed thickly, a lump developing in the abysms of her trachea when she'd scrutinized amongst herself. Yet again, Pinestep was neglecting even attempt the swimming lessons from the overwhelming amount of excuses he continuously poured. At this point, Pinestep was caught in a white lie. The damsel pondered for a moment, skimming over the scenery before her. What was so terrible about survival? Does that warrior want to drown? Most of MistClan has successfully learned to swim; though some struggled more than others, they still accomplished enough to survive most water sources. The long-haired calico scoffed quietly, brows furrowing as she hoisted her embodiment up, "Whitestorm," She called him over, vocalizations stern, "Pinestep is missing again; I will return shortly."
Koisplash ambulated her way back to the campsite, a scowl plastering amongst her countenance in disappointment. She expressed a warm, welcoming demeanor, allowing others to convey any emotions necessary. She inhaled sharply, attempting to regain her composure to show charisma for whatever Pinestep articulated to her. Reaching the camp, her sea-green visionaries scanned her surroundings, the aroma of Pinestep lingering near the Warriors' den. Entering the lair, she and Pinestep met each other's intense gaze. His pupils constricted, eyes widening in astonishment as if he thought he'd go unidentified. "You know," Koisplash started, leisurely creeping toward Pinestep, shoulders sluggish, "I watch every step our clanmates make to protect you all." The damsel explained in a gentle, diminishing tone. She was clearly disappointed, sounding practically exhausted. "Pinestep, please enlighten me. I want to see you thrive, and if you don't learn to swim, who knows what could happen to you." She frowned, not giving the other a chance to speak just yet. "You can do anything you put your mind to."
Falling silent, she nodded her crania in approval for the other to speak, tilting her head when he began, watching the other with an earnest gaze. Koisplash pivoted back amongst her haunches, slackening her physique as she listened to every detail departing Pinestep's mandibles. This time, she could sense he wasn't lying but actually telling the truth about his past. As he spoke, Koisplash considered the perspective her own, as if she'd been in his paws during that moment. Closing her eyes, she envisioned how it all went down, unfurling them dubiously as he concluded his explanation for bypassing swimming. "Thank you, Pinestep; I wish you would've told me sooner before we got this deep into lessons." Koisplash chuckled sheepishly, endeavoring to lighten the disposition. "I understand now. I won't push you further, but acquiring such a skill is for your survival." Koisplash commented, a small smile plastering amongst her countenance as she glimpsed his direction. "You're looking at one of the best swimmers, Pinestep." She joked, knowing she could be just as good as anyone else. Though, she did receive her name with her extensive swimming skills.
"I will help you, even if it means you'd want private lessons. I have learned that some individuals aren't pleased in bigger crowds." Koisplash flashed a wink in his direction, "Of course, I can't say the same, but if there's any way I can make this easier for you, please inform me." The damsel conveyed, waiting for any feedback from the warrior. She didn't want to see him struggle, predominantly after hearing he'd suffered nightmares recently. Koisplash would figure out ways around his fears, hoping to make the best of the situation with ease. She didn't want to rush the lessons but would ease him into it slowly, whatever she had to do.
scenario II [attr="class","cp cp-squirrel"] Koisplash wasn't entirely convinced where Cloverstar was going with these plans, expressing a crooked frown when the mademoiselle continued on. What would be the point of this? Did she want everything to herself? As much as Koisplash didn't care much for the other clans, she didn't believe that taking their prey would gain anything. The others were struggling as is, as there was minimal for MistClan to gain out of this. Koisplash had a lot to learn about Cloverstar and wouldn't question her authority. Regardless, in this case, she questioned the morality of those circumstances. She didn't expect this to be the plan, swallowing thickly as she struggled to hold her tongue. The calico molly stared into Cloverstar's visage intensely, her sea-green visionaries hardening when her leader concluded. Should she step in? Before even another thought, Koisplash communicated her opinion on the matter.
"Cloverstar, I typically don't intervene since your ideas are wonderful and work well; however," Koisplash took a deep breath, inhaling sharply through her nasal passageways, "Unfortunately, I don't believe MistClan would gain much other than pure selfishness, or that's what it'll be viewed as." The damsel stated; her vocalizations were nearly monotonous. She was confident in her own view, as she didn't want MistClan to be perceived as egocentric and desirous. Koisplash boasted out her chest in moments like these and confronted what she believed was correct. MistClan was prospering, compared to the opposing clans, whereas they were struggling with such. "We are flourishing with plenty of water and food; meanwhile, the other clans are losing meals and water. Hence they're reasoning to drink from our sources." Koisplash continued on, keeping her stare fixated on the great leader she admired, "I try to view how the other clans would feel, putting myself in their paws. I would feel worse, knowing that I'd have possibly less than I already did. I hope you understand where I am coming from," She offered a little smile, visionaries softening.
"Now, in other circumstances, your idea would be marvelous. Currently, I find it is unnecessary to ruin possible opportunities where this plan would be more suitable and successful. If MistClan were to become scarce on food, this would be a good approach." Koisplash finalized, dipping her crania toward Cloverstar, who she respected greatly.
[attr="class","cp cp-drop"] scenario III Koisplash hadn't been very sure about Leaftail's honesty, considering her white lies created in the past. After Koisplash's own apprenticeship, she grew into a less reluctant brat. While young, she had overlooked more concerning herself than others but grasped more emotions as she enveloped herself with others. She became more approachable and empathetic with others in her warriorhood, wondering how Leaftail would turn out the older he became. As of now, she wasn't positively convinced how someone like him could become a warrior with such hesitance to train his apprentice. She was bound to get to the bottom of whatever his justification was. Koisplash was bewildered by how Kitepaw was merely close to becoming a warrior with poor hunting skills. It was not her fault. It was Leaftail's for being an unreliable mentor. She couldn't believe the warrior was incapable of training his apprentice, brooding about whether he was trustworthy.
The mademoiselle didn't want to pressure Kitepaw nor make her feel overwhelmed since she appeared resentful as is. She might've even felt embarrassed due to her performance today while hunting. She didn't get the opportunity to obtain anything for the fresh-kill pile. Koisplash offered a warm smile in Kitepaw's direction, "I will speak with Leaftail; you will make a magnificent warrior one day. You deserve a dependable mentor, just like everyone else." Koisplash began, lowering her silhouette toward the ground to reach Kitepaw's height. "Don't let today feel heavy. You did the best you could, and that's all that matters." And with that reassurance, the deputy heaved herself vertically, gently brushing past Kitepaw to console her. Koisplash contemplated if Kitepaw even had a training day, assuming Leaftail had given the apprentice limited time. This was utterly pathetic in the deputy's mind, but she wouldn't state those thoughts. Leaftail wasn't conditioned for what was coming to him, as Koisplash didn't mess around regarding the Clan's advantages and survival.
Koisplash found Leaftail meandering with a few warriors, approaching briskly. She abruptly halted, tassel upright as she stood confidently before the group. "Oh, Leaftail, I must speak with you, dear," She chirped, passive-aggressive vocalizations with caustic undertones. The pulchritudinous mademoiselle flashed a cheeky grin, "I can't wait to tell you how Kitepaw did today. Would you like to come with me?" She inquired, chuckling softly as she pivoted her physique, flicking her tail in his direction, hoping he'd trail behind her. Without a word out of Leaftail, he dubiously followed after Koisplash, where she exited camp to a private conversation with the tomcat. Reaching a relatively decent distance from the campsite, she began before Leaftail could utter a single word. She didn't want to hear it, not anything from him.
"You have done absolutely nothing for Kitepaw, have you?" She questioned bitterly, her sea-green visionaries darkening and glinting with an intense shadow lurking within them. Koisplash's brows furrowed, feeling enraged, "Warriors, all warriors, including you, are the future of our Clan. You are to train Kitepaw to become a dependable and honorable warrior, and what have you been doing? Slacking? Doing nothing? Please enlighten me, Leaftail." She grimaced, revolted by his reluctance to find time for his apprentice. "The Clan warriors will always impact the youthful, and know what, you're basically informing Kitepaw that it's okay to be dishonest?" Koisplash maintained an excellent temper, despite how outraged this made her feel. She was irritated, but she wasn't raising her tone too much. "Do you understand the amount of damage that could've been done? Who knows how limited Kitepaw's skills are due to your lack of knowledge on how important it is to train the apprentice you've been assigned to. It's an honorable moment when you're picked as a mentor, and you displayed no interest."
"You will not be mentoring Kitepaw any further, and I will be speaking with Cloverstar about your dishonesty. You don't just get out of apprenticing, but Kitepaw deserves someone who'll assist with what she deserves." Koisplash scoffed, taking a few steps back from Leaftail, holding her composure to the best of her ability, "Cloverstar depended on you and Kitepaw; you failed them. You failed MistClan too." The damsel shook her crania, dismissing herself from Leaftail's presence, leaving him utterly speechless.
