"Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone."~Wisteriakit
The cold was the first thing that she'd registered. Her head lifted confused and swung back and forth as if she could see where she was. But, the gentle sway of her body midair and the familiar scent of her mother soon made her realize Daisylight had her daughter by the scruff and was taking her somewhere. Wisteriakit had been fine sleeping soundlessly curled up with her sisters and mother in the warmth of her nest in the nursery; why did her mother deem it fit to carry her out into the frozen land? Leaf-Bare was harsh on her small body; it trembling in cold. Her mother gave a muffled noise of reassurance that Wisteriakit heard the undertone of worry beneath it; that confused the white kit further.
She did not say anything to her mother as she was carried from the warmth of the nursery instead she curled into herself almost looking as if Daisylight was carrying a snowball in her mouth towards the medicine den. Wisteriakit was so lethargic she didn't even realize why she was feeling the way she did. The scent of warmth, herbs, and earth around her woke her up from her half slept stupor making her open her eyes partway as if the darkness in her vision would suddenly show her what was in front of her. Everything seemed like it was underwater and her mouth felt funny and dry but she heard her mother's worried voice above the deafness in her ears.
"I'm sorry to disturb you so late in the evening Ebonyheart, I know you must be getting ready to rest for the night...but Wisteriakit's not feeling too well. I think she stayed outside far too long and it's snowed recently. Could you take a look at her please? I'm worried she may be running a fever; she's terribly hot but she keeps shivering." the young queen's words reached her daughter's ears.
"Mama I'm-" the four moons old kit stopped in a fit of coughing before continuing. "I'm okay really, my throat is just a bit sore from breathing in all that cold air from the other day. Sitting out by myself in the cold didn't hurt me." Wisteriakit mumbled as she snuggled up against her mother's front legs and yawed.
"I'm sleepy... she trailed off into soft snores that had an undertone of rattling as she took her breaths.
In truth, the first signs of snow she'd been confronted with she'd wondered what all the big fuss was as her sisters and den mates played while she sat with Lynxfire talking and learning from the warrior. She didn't realize that she's been out in the cold for too long. Even as a four moon old kit, she didn't realize that the cold could be rather deadly for a kit with no experience with the weather; she had it stacked against her since she was blind and didn't realize the change until it was too late. Now here she was in a lethargic sleep leaning against her mother's legs after claiming she was fine but her actions and the sound of her body's reactions said differently.
"My other daughters are back in the nursery. Would you mind taking a look at Wsteriakit and I'll come check in on her in a little bit?" the brown and white molly spoke up with a faint smile before she was nudging her limp bodied kit in sleep towards the dark furred medicine cat.
