The "Slacker"

Canyonpaw is a moderately small she-cat, probably one of the smallest of her litter. She might be petite and appear brittle but fortunately has long, powerful legs and a lengthy physique. The damsel has developed slender, brawny legs with a lithe structure. Her pelt is velutinous on contact, and the molly's pelage is insubstantial and dapper. Canyonpaw's brilliant azure visionaries are replenished with inquisitiveness, pronounced amongst her silver-white physique marbled with toffee-colored undertones. Despite her meager embodiment, Canyonpaw's appendages are elongated, which will be utilized for agility in the future. The marbling and spots on each of her flanks are identical, as if she's mirrored at every angle. Her pelage appears as an ivory pigment, possessing silver traits with tawny undertones. Canyonpaw may not always express curiosity, as she typically harbors a squinted gaze as if she'd just woken from dead sleep or a good nap. The warrior's countenance is implemented with oversized ears and ginger masking beneath her eyes and nose, bringing out her blue optics.
Canyonpaw hadn't always been the most adaptable feline, but ever since the Earthquake, she had to improvise and learn adaption. She had to grow used to being with strangers, cats she hadn't been born around. She had learned to acclimate herself to unwelcoming situations and locations, such as GaleClan's new establishment. She has developed to be a personable damsel, preferring to understand those amidst her, known to be a relatively pleasant she-cat. She expresses herself with a gentle aura, effortless to approach and converse with. There's no doubt that the perceptive apprentice takes delight in analyzing the minds of others while kicking back and relaxing. She quickly responds to others' comments, endeavoring to pick them apart while communicating with them. From a distance, she watches, like a predator observing its prey for the right time to strike. For such a lazy feline, she is consistently underestimated until given a task to accomplish. Despite her sluggish demeanor, Canyonpaw is surprisingly reliable, completing tasks with great effort to prove her worthiness of becoming a warrior. Many doubt that she'd budge a paw to finish her duties, and she continuously proves other individuals wrong with that doubt.
Canyonpaw isn't the most straightforward apprentice to decipher regarding her slothful outer shell. She enjoys keeping others guessing, believing she is less vulnerable if she expresses herself less. She is deemed to be complex in the eyes of her clanmates. Canyonpaw is occasionally viewed as a softspoken molly; her voice is admiringly euphonious, as if she suppresses her vocals, though she doesn't. She articulates with a serener tone, hushed and furnished with tenderness. With such a lovely voice, Canyonpaw harbors a hypnotic demeanor, quickly encountering herself persuading others if she believes it's necessary. It's not shocking if the mademoiselle expresses manipulative or gaslighting tendencies, though only utilized against those she deems as obnoxious or overboard. She portrays a remarkably temperate persona to construct this image that she's less than she is. There's no doubt that she possesses a humble spirit, believing there's no need to overestimate herself or boast concerning her capabilities. She assumed it was best to prove others wrong every time anyone contested if she could. She was distasteful of those who were conceited or arrogant, harboring narcissistic or cocky tendencies, and quick to become intolerant. When others test her intelligence, Canyonpaw will exhibit her sardonic dispositions, speaking with venom and sarcasm in the depths of her soothing voice. Her vocals can go from quiet to loud without hesitation.
Canyonpaw doesn't appear to harbor much sympathy for others, especially if another individual is mocking her for her lazy nature or believes she's incompetent. The mademoiselle's attitude can flicker like a switch, taunting those who try to demoralize or oppugn her. She is rather imitative, mimicking her aggressor with a similar tone and the message they're attempting to deliver. Canyonpaw frequently displays an insensitive demeanor, though she's not entirely apathetic. She doesn't indicate interest in those who are pessimistic or dwell on their feelings, preferring to bypass beings who do. She's only willing to provide comfort for anyone she's befriended or loves. The most notable characteristic about Canyonpaw is her indolent behavior, typically deemed lazy by her clanmates. Few clanmates recognize her exquisite skill in terminating tasks efficiently; well, she's not perfect, so not always. When the time's given, the apprentice is quick to lie down for a nap or slip from camp to sunbathe if the weather's brilliant. The way she carries herself makes for an unpredictable outlook, standing out amongst the crowd from the average warrior with more ambition than her. She is either gentle and kind or a menace with voice and determination.

◉ BIRTH
Canyonkit was born to Cobrashadow and Petalrain in the warmth of Greenleaf, while cicadas vocalized within the valley. She was more diminutive than her siblings, though, more significant than her sister, Creek-kit. She possessed a much brawnier physique that would prosper as she aged into apprenticeship and warriorhood. She was born next to, Creek-kit, Cliffkit, Cragkit, and Claykit, who harbored a more sickly appearance than Creek-kit had. The runt of the litter passed away shortly after their birth, and Canyonkit hadn't comprehended much about them. The litter of four thrived, as each kit had its vibrant personalities, transparent to their parents and those who visited the nursery.
◉ KITHOOD
When she'd opened her eyes, her world suddenly became vast, prepared to explore beyond the nursery. It was an exciting moment, and that was until her siblings tackled the mademoiselle, and they shed light on this new journey. She enjoyed the other kits, which would play nice; meanwhile, her sister, Creek-kit, consistently played dirty and utilized her nasty tricks, such as flinging dirt into their faces. It was like the world was a competition in Creek-kit's eyes, scowling upon her sister's ways. Deep down, Canyonkit prayed to StarClan that her sister would mature out of this puckish and devilish behavior. While other kittens may have been absentminded to Creek-kit's contrasting spirit, Canyonkit began to study the minds of her clanmates from a young age. She was an abnormal kit, displaying nearly zero ambition, napping more than her restless siblings. There were days reckless tackles would bump into her while she catnapped, boiling her blood and angering her when it occurred.
Canyonkit hadn't given into her sister's persuasion, getting along decently with her other two siblings. If the damsel knew about Claykit, she'd often wonder if she'd maintain a good bond with them, but it was better if she hadn't been aware of her deceased sibling. Canyonkit occasionally played with others, avoiding it if she could, but sometimes her nursery-mates dragged her into playfights without consent. When her clanmates begged her to indulge, she would challenge them with a bitter perspective, often prevailing in these interactions. Some youngsters began threatening, contesting against their friends that she shouldn't be messed with. Her elders will most likely question her abilities as she ages due to her laziness. Those who grew up with her would presumably be conscious of her belligerence when interrogated. She didn't delight in being tackled, making sure others knew she loathed.
Canyonkit had grown concerned when her sister, Creek-kit, was capable of making a "friend." The she-kit was blind, and she believed her sibling would attempt to take advantage of the damsel's disability. It was a concerning subject to Canyonkit, identifying her sister as a moderately manipulative feline, wondering if this would only grow more apparent. She was, unfortunately, quite good at it regarding the older clanmates who adulated Creek-kit. It was a shame, in Canyonkit's little, evolving mind. She comprehended that her sister's foolishness was absurd, understanding she'd never fall victim to her sister's tricks; she refused. When she and Creek-kit interacted, it wasn't always pleasant, but the youthful molly remained cordial and civil with the opposing cold-blooded she-kit.

◉ APPRENTICESHIP
Canyonkit was barely enthusiastic about her apprenticeship compared to those who were acquiring their new names just as she was that day. She was surprised that their leader wasn't repugnant of her sense like her other, older clanmates had. From that day forward, she was known as Canyonpaw, being assigned to her mentor. The she-cat's name was Quailsong, an ambitious and excellent teacher. She was a senior warrior who had trained two apprentices previously, passing on her impressive skills in combat and agility. She had acquired the other abilities, though she was mostly known for those two. Canyonpaw wasn't an easy apprentice to train, as she didn't appeal to Quailsong's expectations. She didn't feel satisfied when Canyonpaw attempted to do as instructed, pushing the apprentice by claiming that she'd exhaust her if she hadn't shown effort the first time. After a few failed attempts, Quailsong had done as promised, making her training sessions more challenging and exhausting, testing Canyonpaw's limits. With this method, Quailsong believed there was a fire within her apprentice, seeing improvement in Canyonpaw's sessions.
For a few moons, Quailsong worked hard to improve her apprentice's mindset, which had been somewhat successful. Off duty or training, Canyonpaw was still relatively sluggish but accomplished her tasks well, without too much struggle. It was a relief in Quailsong's eyes, constantly witnessing progress in the young feline, which slightly reminded Quailsong of herself in her adolescence. Fewer warriors were doubting Canyonpaw, but some always would. She was hoping she wouldn't become a warrior too late, as some of her nursery-mates had started earning their warrior names. She would always ponder that if she'd played more or indulged more, she would've paced herself better. She attempted to shove these thoughts behind, with Quailsong behind her, who finally started to encourage her. With her mentor's encouragement and vision, Canyonpaw blossomed into what would eventually make a fine warrior.
However, one day a disaster occurred amongst the five clans, reverberating beneath the ground, causing the terrain to tear and shred around everyone. Quailsong and Canyonpaw were outside camp, training as they would daily since Canyonpaw desired extra sessions. Canyonpaw immediately went into flight mode, attempting to gather with Quailsong, family out of sight. She was panicked; her fur bristled as Quailsong quickly nudged the smaller feline, "Run, Canyonpaw, run!" And the two began to sprint for their lives. There was a mere stampede of the Clan behind them, though there was absolutely no way everyone would remain together. Quailsong and Canyonpaw didn't dare look behind them, watching as Quailsong descended a minor hill as rocks tumbled beneath her, dropping her below. She was gone. Canyonpaw shifted direction, losing the Clan entirely. She was mortified, praying that Quailsong would make it out. Little did she know, Quailsong perished in the Earthquake that day, taken by a rock slide. Canyonpaw desired to find her way down the hill, finding a way around the mudslide that had occurred moments ago. She couldn't leave her mentor alone.
It took Canyonpaw minutes, attempting to veer out of the way of flying branches and stones, occasionally getting struck by sharp debris. A few of these objects lacerated her, little rocks stuck in her skin as she descended, tracking her mentor's scent. She arrived at the scene, feeling the vibration beneath her toes arising. She caught a glimpse of Quailsong, body lifeless as the bottom half of her had been crushed beneath a large rock. Why? Why Quailsong? She quickly redirected, wishing she could say her goodbyes, but there was no voice to reach her. Canyonpaw ran for a while, falling to the ground below where she'd passed out. She was torn apart and drained. The first to escape the Quake was GaleClan, and perhaps Canyonpaw. Her bloodied figure was discovered by the leader of GaleClan, who she recognized as Owlstar. What an absolute blessing. Thank you, StarClan. She slowly awoke, visage narrowed as she gazed at the lissom leader overhead. She was taken into GaleClan, relieved of her injuries as she was instantly seen in by the medicine cat.
Owlstar had given her another opportunity at life in the Clan, and she was thankful that Owlstar hadn't turned her down in a time of need. Canyonpaw convinced herself that Owlstar was a hero, admiring the sovereignty of the blue damsel. She would forever cherish the leader's kindness in aiding her back to health, giving her the chance to thrive again; the medicine cat did the work. She was assigned a new mentor named Crowspirit. The thought of a new mentor was petrifying, bringing her memories of Quailsong. She nearly broke down at the ceremony, forcing herself to hold it together when Owlstar presented her with a new mentor. Despite her past, she was fortunate to have such a generous and empathetic mentor, able to connect well with the tom. The tom taught her to move forward and simply treasure the memories she once had with Quailsong. He was an optimist, believing that one should only move forward, not backward.
Unlike Quailsong, Crowspirit refused to push the damsel, allowing her to move at her own pace, which has hastened over time since her previous mentor. Crowspirit had a much different outlook than Quailsong, finding her circumstances significantly distinct from others. She was presumably one of the few apprentices who had two mentors in her life before becoming a warrior. She cherished Crowspirit, just as she had with Quailsong. She was severely grateful to those who showed respect and believed in her, marveling at Owlstar for bringing her into the Clan, now comprehended as GaleClan. She wondered if there were anything Owlstar had seen within her, feeling she wouldn't have just allowed her in the Clan as someone who was born in another Clan. She was delighted to be a part of GaleClan, considering them as her family, desiring to protect every individual amidst her. There was no doubt she had delivered respect and her thanks to her new Clan, thanking StarClan constantly for this miracle. Any day, she awaits her warrior ceremony.
