Skychaser
48 Moons - Rainclan Warrior
Nimble white paws were carefully placed one in front of another as the surroundings of the territory were nearly concealed due to the thick, rolling fog as morning arose among the valley. Light shimmered off of low hanging clouds as the sun continued to slowly rise above the mountains, the heat already starting to rise with the beginning of the day. It was hard to see much but a couple of tail-lengths in any direction at the moment, perhaps as the day drew on the fog would dissipate.
For now, perhaps it would aid in hunting.
The alabaster tom had departed from camp today with two other cats in hopes of prosperous fishing, one of which was an apprentice. The slender Rainclan warrior hoped he could show Silentpaw how to use the fog to his advantage when it came to casting shadows upon the rippling surface of the river. Despite not being able to see the gushing water, it's steady gurgling was heard though the fog from up ahead, confirming they were almost there. It was sure to be full of fish within the middle of Greenleaf.
Pausing for just a moment, the white tom parted his jaws to take in the scents around him, curious if any other Rainclanners had decided to use the river for their hunting uses today but it seemed as if the three were alone for now. Long tail flickering, duel colored pools glanced over a slender shoulder to view the forms of Grayleaf and Silentpaw only pawsteps behind where he had stopped, waiting for them to catch up. Ever the teacher, the slender feline had sent his own apprentice, Wasp-paw, off with Wavepaw on a patrol with a couple other warriors before offering to aid Silentpaw in his own training.
Skychaser had a relaxed light that shimmered within his blue and green eyes, a small smile upon his maw as his gaze ran from the quiet apprentice to the gray tabby form of his younger sister. It wasn't often he got to spend time with either Grayleaf or Ivoryrose, but he enjoyed every moment of it. Especially since he hadn't been there when they had been born within the rebel camp during the Civil War Rainclan had endured moons ago. Though the carnage still haunted the aging tom in certain ways, no matter how much he tried to put it behind him.
He would do everything within his limited power as a warrior to make sure nothing like that ever befell his clanmates ever again.
Flickering that long tail of his once more, Skychaser parted his maw to speak in that soft, rumbling tone of his. "Ready for some fishing?" It was an obvious question since they had decided such a thing before leaving camp, but the lightness that danced around his gaze and the smile upon his maw just hinted at the laid-back tom's enthusiasm. His excitement was leaned more towards aiding Silentpaw become the best fisher he could be, as any good mentor would do.
For now, perhaps it would aid in hunting.
