Cobrashadow
Beware the Coiled Snake
You got your rules and your religion
All designed to keep you safe
But when rules start getting broken
You start questionin' your faith
The strong winds blowing down from the mountains pressed against the flank of the spotted warrior as he made his way through Stoneclan's barren like territory, his black coated sister and gray striped apprentice following along beside him as they made their way towards the Moss Meadow for some hunting. Normally the tempermental tom would have been fine with just he and the young apprentice, but ever since Kestrelclaw and Dawnpaw had been attacked by a pair of young eagles... Well, having Viperstrike around was probably a good idea.
Adderstone would have been his first pick, both he and his similarly looking brother were a rather good team when it came to taking down larger birds, but it seemed he had been preoccupied with a patrol by the time the more aggressive of the two was ready to head out for some hunting. Though, with all this wind coming with the change of the seasons, the green eyed tomcat wasn't entirely sure how much they'd be able to find.
A shadow fell over the path in-front of Cobrashadow's wide paws, causing the warrior to pause as he lifted his head to let his fierce gaze scan the blue sky. Far above them was the small form of a bird, though it wasn't circling yet. Instead, it seemed to be battling against the blowing element while trying to make it's way over the mountainous side of the valley. He gave a flicker of his tail to catch Viperstrike's attention, who's blazing green pools had already been narrowed upon the feathered creature.
"Keep your eyes open." Cobrashadow said in his gruff tone, that smirk ever present upon his slightly crooked jaw. He was mostly talking to Viperstrike, but he let his own green gaze slide over to where Pigeonpaw was near his side. The last thing he needed was for another Stoneclan apprentice to return to the camp as bird fodder, he was sure the Medicine Cats would have his tail for such a thing. The thought caused an ear to twitch.
"Eyes open and claws sharp." Viperstrike spoke in a sharp tone as her claws slid from black paws, tail flickering behind her in a serpent like motion. Her gaze remained on the silhouette of the bird for a moment longer before turning to hold Cobrashadow's own similar gaze, sharing a look. "Try not to die." She said nonchalantly with a smirk as she parted from the pair to find a spot to camp out, to stay hidden while keeping an eye on her brother and his apprentice as well as they sky in case some winged predator decided it was hungry for cat.
Cobrashadow rolled his eyes as his black coated sister as she clambered over the sparse rocks and boulders to find an appropriate hiding spot. Returning his attention to Pigeonpaw, the golden and spotted tomcat flicked his tail towards the edge of the Moss Meadow just pawsteps away. The young tabby had been an apprentice for four moons now and it seemed that hunting was his forte. Despite fighting being the older tom's favorite he did have a good paw when it came to snagging prey.
Another gust of wind brought a mixture of scents as it bustled past, "Try and catch as much as you can. Keep yourself downwind so your scent doesn't travel." Cobrashadow spoke again in that gruff tone of his, green pools unreadable as he flicked his tail once more. Leaf-fall was slowly making it's way to the valley, and gathering prey for the fresh-kill pile was a good place to start. Perhaps if they were lucky they could bring back a hawk or something, if it made the stupid decision to swoop down at them.
