Redbird
How High Can You Soar
There's nothing dragging
Down me now
Cause a girl gonna
push it all out the way
It seemed like the snow would never end.
Granted, the ginger coated feline didn't mind either the powder that covered the forest in a brilliant white blanket, or the cold that came with it as her thick pelt kept her rather warm. Though, the young warrioress was pretty sure Treeclan had the most cats with long, thick pelts out of the other clans within the valley.
Picking her way through the white camp, flickering her tail in a greeting at her brother as Foxfur sat near the newly named Brackenstride. Originally Redbird had planned on finding her littermate and asking him to join her for a patrol near the Lightningclan border. With all the troubles with Nightclan, not to mention her hindleg was still healing from Graywolf's painful fangs, Redbird planned on staying away from their neighbors within the pines until things settled down.
But she wasn't going to pull him away from his friend, so instead wide golden pools looked around and spotted another clanmate that looked relatively free. Padding over to the ginger and white tom, her limp hardly noticeable, Redbird gave out a friendly call with a wave of her feathered tail. "Flamelight, would you like to go out for a small patrol? I was feeling a little restless sitting around camp."
Her raspy voice was light as a purr rumbled softly within her throat, finally making her way over to the younger tom. There wasn't many moons between the two of them and had for a short while shared the nursery and the apprentice den with some of the others their age. Redbird made it an attempt to at least be on a comfortable level with everyone of her clanmates, after all they were practically family even if they weren't related by blood.
Flamelight was no exception.
And now that she thought about it, the ginger feline wasn't sure that they had had much interactions together since the two of them had earned their warrior names a handful of moons ago. "Maybe if we are lucky we can find a stray rabbit!"
