Redbird
How High Can You Soar
Everybody waiting for the fall of man
Everybody praying for the end of times
Everybody hoping they could be the one
I was born to run, I was born for this
Storm clouds were gathering over head, dark and ominous as Leafbare continued to grow closer and closer. The sky was a pale and dull grayish-blue and it was hard to tell if rain or snow was about to fall upon the valley. Even then sun was hidden away during the chilly day, every once in a while a stray beam of light would break the fluffy clouds and part through the dying leaves of Treeclan. It was only early evening, though it was hard to tell as a chilly breeze rustled around bushes and brambles.
The fox colored she-cat made her way through the thicket, or what was left of it before Leafbare stripped it clean, as she made her way towards the Wildflower Clearing, only a few tail-lengths ahead of her. However, before she exited through the wall of trees, the young warrioress paused as an ear flickered atop head head at the sudden chirp of a bird.
Crouching, Redbird lowered her body so her brightly colored pelt wouldn't give away her location, plume tail shifting so as not to make any noise.
It took but a second for those wide golden pools of hers to find the sparrow hopping along the roots of a large oak tree. Letting her jaw drop, Redbird could tell that she was downwind from the feathered creature, aiding her as she crept forwards with as much silence as she could muster on the dying grass at her feet. Sliding into that perfected hunter's couch and a slight wriggle of her haunches, the Somali shot forwards to swiftly kill her prey with a single bite to the neck.
Perfect!
A glow of pride rippled under her medium length coat before she dug a spot to bury the sparrow. With a silent praise to Starclan, Redbird made a mental note to return for her catch later. The adrenaline of the hunt still pumping through her veins, pleased to be able to feed her clanmates.
Her attention was captured again as a small squeak split the silent air and a brown rabbit came charging in from the wildflowers ahead. It obviously wasn't paying any attention except to what had scared it, leaving it wide open for Redbird to quickly charge forwards. A swipe of her claws caught it off-guard, launching it onto its back before her heavier form pinned it to the ground. Fangs sank into the soft neck of the rabbit to prevent another squeak and ending it's life.
Lifting her head, Redbird flickered an ear, tongue running over her muzzle to taste the fresh rabbit there. Lifting her new catch, the red coated feline exited her cover of the trees to pad softly into the clearing of slowly dying wildflowers, amusement flickering through those golden pools of hers. "Some-cat lose a rabbit?" Her purr was muffled by the fluff that was in her jaw before she dropped it softly to her red feet, plume tail waving around behind her.

Whatever it takes
'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do whatever it takes
'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains
