Leaf-fall Day 10Appleshade It had been five days since Appleshade and Sprucefur had last spoken to their sister. According to Lionstar, they had had a tense, nearly volatile argument that ended in Lichenfrost going off to find Frost. Or so they thought.
On the first night, Appleshade had fretted for her sister's safety and emotional well-being, until Sprucefur's quiet reassurance that she just needed to blow off some steam helped alleiviate her fears. On the third night, worry began to eat away at Appleshade's sense of peace like termites, gnawing through logic and reasoning to let fearful anxiety creep through. "What if she's run into a fox? What if she's hurt? What if she doesn't WANT to come home? Oh Sprucefur, we should find her."
"I'd feel sorry for the fox," he'd said, laying his tail on her shoulder to make her feel better. "Lichenfrost is strong, and capable. She will come home when she wants to."
Despite knowing this to be true, Appleshade couldn't shake the sense of unease beneath her skin, encircling her heart. On the fourth day, her apprentice became a warrior, and any last distraction from Lichenfrost was taken from the she-cat, leaving all the same old worries to rush back in.
On the morning of the fifth day, the sky was gray and threatened to drizzle. A perfect representation of Appleshade's inner turmoil. A battle was brewing between NightClan and TreeClan; her own dear Owlstrike was going to participate; despite this, she couldn't break the cycle of apprehension over her sister's well-being to focus on that.
"Sprucefur, I'm really worried. We need to go find her." Appleshade's soft voice carried a choked weight, her head lifted to stay strong though the feathery silver-sorrel tail behind her was drooped against the grass.
"You're right," he agreed grimly. "I'm going to talk to Feathercloud and Gorsetail. Wait for me near the entrance."
While her pale golden brother walked away, Appleshade was left to pace near the warriors' den before making her way to the mouth of the great hollowed tree that was their camp. Her heart thumped hard against her throat as she spotted a white-furred tom - Skyfall - approaching with this morning's catch. She couldn't explain why, but she hurried forward, pelt fluffed with unease. "Skyfall! Sprucefur and I are going to find Lichenfrost. Will you come?" I don't want to search for her alone. What if they found her dead somewhere?
Or what if they found her, and she didn't want to come home at all?

SKYFALLWhen it crumbles, we will stand TALL and face it all together
Bi-colored eyes flicked sideways at the call of his name, the white furred tom nearly dropping the mouse and finch dangling from his jaws. He recalled the fruit of his labor at the last moment and ensured his jaw remained locked firmly around the prey, turning a questioning gaze on the owner of the voice. Despite Appleshade's recent lowered mood, her approach still captivated him entirely, white tail tip flicking as he altered his course to meet her part way. Behind him, a near-mirror image of the tom stepped out, white ear tips pricking at the sudden disturbance.
Burdened by her own prey, Swandive's disapproving scowl remained masked by the wings of a blackbird. Holding her head just a little higher, Skyfall's blue-eyed sister shifted her trajectory just so to stand a little ways behind her brother as he stopped before the silver-fawn she-cat who'd beckoned him. Skyfall stooped to deposit his prey, reaching forward almost subconsciously to press his nose comfortingly to Appleshade's cheek. Snorting quietly in something akin to disgust, Swandive's gaze shifted toward the fresh-kill pile and she considered just walking away. "Of course, Appleshade." He rumbled reassuringly, and Swandive could practically hear the concern dripping from his voice.
"Anything to be of help." He finished. Standing in the background, the white she-cat flicked her tail in annoyance, counting in her head. Three... Two... And.... "Swandive?" Skyfall's focus switched to her on cue, and the white senior wariorress controlled anything that might be in her eyes before meeting his gaze with what she hoped was curiosity. "Would you mind taking my prey to the fresh-kill pile for me?" Forcing herself into complacency, Swandive dipped her head in acknowledgement before stepping forward to collect her brother's catches. His attention was back on Appleshade before long, his tail sweeping in the direction of the camp entrance as he murmured quietly. "Come on, we'll wait for him over there."
With her brother's focus well away from her, the white she-cat allowed her eyes to narrow into slits as she bit her cheek to withhold a displeased growl aimed toward the creamy she-cat. He never learns. She thought to herself, the sudden urge to shred the other she-cat before Appleshade inevitably hurt Skyfall washing over her.

into that bright world to I go It was safe to say Fogsight was distressed. Her feelings of love had settled in her stomach like a bite of prey that went down backwards. It was uncomfortable, and new. The small warrior did not want to be in love, what if she messed up? At first, she thought she had messed up when her friend hadn't returned after a patrol. But logic sunk back in, returning her belly to its churning state. Where had Lichenfrost gone? She had searched on her own patrols, duty to her clan tugging at her paws, but the warrior was nowhere to be found. Which left Fogsight curled in her nest, paws tucked in close and furry tail wrapped snug around herself. It felt like being an apprentice again, sulking at her misfortune, yet unable to do something about it without making her heart hurt at bending the rules. Could a warrior just leave their territory to find one of their own? Surely they'd have to ask their leader first. But what if said leader doesn't even like the cat? She thought miserably, ears swiveling to catch a conversation floating into the warriors den. "Skyfall! Sprucefur and I are going to find Lichenfrost. Will you come?" Go find her? Fogsight lifted her head, tail sweeping out of her way to stare at the cat speaking. It was Appleshade, of course! Scrambling to her paws, not pausing to shake off the bits of moss, Fogsight barrelled out of the den. She let out a polite cough, not risking startling Lichenfrost's sibling as she gathered herself a crew. "Appleshade?" She called. "Can, can I join you the search?" Fogsight felt her throat close up before a reason could appear, but there was no doubt in her mind Appleshade already knew why she felt the need to join them. She wasn't strong, nor fast due to her size, yet her mind was sharp. Yet, the reason to go was absolutely out of love. Appleshade was practically overflowing with love and care for others. If anyone understood, it'd be her.

Appleshade Fogsight wanted to come with them? Appleshade's yellow eyes grew round as walnuts, and she nodded at once, stepping towards the fluffier she-cat to touch her nose to her ear in gratitude. "Of course, Fogsight. The more cats, the merrier." The breadth of concern in Fogsight's question matched the look in her eyes, and Appleshade's heart soon stirred with understanding.
Lichenfrost has more cats who care for her than she realizes. StarClan, she prayed, please let Lichenfrost realize this.
Waiting was the most difficult part; though Skyfall's presence was a much-needed comfort to Appleshade, she could not fully rest or express any kind of relaxed behavior. Not until her sister was found. "Has she said anything to either of you about Frost?" Appleshade spoke to break the expectant silence, blinking glimmering eyes at the tom and she-cat both.
A familiar scent matched the arrival of two cats from the warriors' den. Sprucefur walked side by side with his mate, Feathercloud, their pelts brushing though their expressions were serious. Appleshade shared a look with her kin. Frost could have nothing to do with this - or he could have everything to do with this.
But would Lichenfrost really pursue answers to their heritage without them?
If she wasn't with Frost, where was she?
Sprucefur glanced to Fogsight, surprised by her presence, but he accepted it with a solemn blink. "Let's go. She's not in the territory. We start our search just beyond our scent markers." It had been days since Lichenfrost had vanished without a trace; any indicators of her presence would be long gone by now...
Trying not to cry, Appleshade leaned her cheek against Skyfall's shoulder, drawing strength from the tom who stood like a great tree, an anchor point, in a world that was suddenly tilting every which way. With an expression of determination, the beautiful, flamboyant she-cat wore an uncharacteristically serious demeanor as she straightened. "Let's bring her home."

SKYFALLWhen it crumbles, we will stand TALL and face it all together
The white tom's ears pricked as another Clan member approached them. He nodded his head politely to Fogsight, offering her a thankful smile. Skyfall could tell how relieved Appleshade was at having more bodies searching for her sister. His focus drifted back to Appleshade, the tom's mismatched eyes watching her worriedly. It wasn't often he felt helpless, but today? StarClan above did he feel helpless. With his long-furred tail flicking behind him thoughtfully, Skyfall let his mind wander as a frown tugged at the corner of his lips. He hated seeing the pale she-cat so distraught.
Movement drew his attention elsewhere, and his gaze landed upon the approaching forms of Sprucefur and his silver pelted mate, Feathercloud. Momentary surprise trickled through him; it was no secret that Feathercloud and Lichenfrost weren't exactly the best of friends. And yet... Seeing Appleshade as distressed as she was brought with it an understanding in Skyfall. If he was willing to drop everything to provide Appleshade whatever comfort he could, Skyfall could only imagine the strength of Feathercloud's determination to do the same for her mate. Ice blue eyes met his, and he nodded his head to her. Feathercloud offered him a tired and brief smile, before her attention flickered back to Sprucefur.
The other tom raised a good point: if Lichenfrost was still in TreeClan territory, someone would have found her by now. Starting beyond TreeClan's borders was logical, and Skyfall flicked an ear in agreement. Appleshade's fur suddenly brushed against his side, and when her cheek pressed to his shoulder, he couldn't resist resting his chin on the top of her head comfortingly. At her determined meow, Skyfall straightened and touched her flank with his tail. "Yes, let's." He agreed, an equally serious look drifting through his mismatched eyes.
-----
He'd long since lost track of how far they'd come. His paws ached, but the dull pain was surprisingly easy to ignore. White jaws parted to taste the unfamiliar air. Not long ago, they'd stumbled across a set of prey remains carrying faint traces of Lichenfrost's scent. Sprucefur had identified the accompanying scent as Frost's, and it had served as their first true piece of evidence. Skyfall was moments away from setting back to work when a strange mixture of scents greeted him. Stiffening instinctively, the ivory furred tom swept his tail protectively over Appleshade's form.
His muzzle snapped towards the other patrol members, who were investigating a few foxlengths away to cover more ground. "Sprucefur, Feathercloud, Fogsight." He called gruffly, an authoritative tone automatically slipping into his voice. His tail motioned for them to come closer. "Stay together, something's different now. Lots of scents, almost like there's a Clan nearby. Keep your senses peeled, keep each other safe." Mismatched eyes drifted over the unfamiliar territory, scouting for anything out of the ordinary or threatening. Flexing his claws, the tom steadied himself; it would do no one any good to let nerves get the best of the situation. "Let's keep looking, but stay close." He ordered. 68 Moons. TreeClan. into that bright world to I go Appleshade's words, "let's bring her home" stirred a fire in Fogsight's belly, churning with each paw step across Treeclan's territory and into the unknown. Her steps were heavy, grounding the small warrior. She rarely stepped out of her territory, for obvious reasons. Yet her worry was too strong to look around, catalog everything to memory. She knew later it would all be there, but the joy to explore was gone. Her pale eyes had examined the landscape once or twice as the unfamiliar buried the familiar. What about this land brought her away? Her thoughts asked, bitter and sharp like the words spoken by Lichenfrost. Lichenfrost. Did you forget we care about you? That, I love you?The small group plodded on for a long time, precisely a distance of the sun traveling above them, but Fogsight didn't voice that to her companions. She glanced over them, eyes tired and anxious like hers probably were. Then, a scent, something familiar! She heard Skyfall shift, give commands to those around him. A clan? This far out? She did not voice her confusion, instead felt her heart beat up into her throat. Is this who took Lichenfrost away? "Let's keep looking, but stay close." Fogsight nodded back at Skyfall, hearing the realization in his voice. She had to be here. If other cats were here, this had to be it. The warrior frowned at the landscape, eyes squinting to find anything different about it. A shape, her brain said, up ahead. "There." Fogsight said to her group, using her tail to gesture upward. Something was shifting between the rocks, similar to how a cat would move. "Could that be our mysterious clan? I bet they will know where Lichenfrost is."

Appleshade When they'd first laid eyes on the bones, Appleshade had made a startled little squeak in the back of her throat - and then hid behind Feathercloud in embarrassment. Of course she wasn't some brand new apprentice who couldn't tell the difference between cat bones and prey bones! She'd just... for a split second...
You're being so silly, Appleshade. Lichenfrost is most certainly not dead. She'd have felt it. Appleshade believed in the connection she had with her littermates; if something had gone seriously wrong, the pretty pale-sorrel she-cat believed with all her heart she would know.
Before long, they were walking again, and her paws and legs began to ache from the strain of up-hill travel. Despite this, and despite the rising urge to ask them to rest, Appleshade trudged on. Determination overriding everything else. If Skyfall could keep going, so could she. If Feathercloud and Sprucefur and Fogsight could keep going, Appleshade wasn't going to lag behind.
"Stay together, something's different now. Lots of scents, almost like there's a Clan nearby. Keep your senses peeled, keep each other safe."
Appleshade's pelt fluffed, and she seemed to swell with uncertainty and giddiness all at once. "This must be Frost's Tribe," she exclaimed in hushed tones, as though afraid to attract any undue attention. "Lichenfrost must be here!" If not here, then where? Appleshade could think of no other alternative, except for their kin to have left the valley - and she could not bear the thought.
A fierce calico tabby yowled at them to halt. "Who are you? More Clan cats? What do you want?" Her green eyes showed no mercy, a hostile growl already bubbling up in her throat.
"We're looking for someone," said Sprucefur, and Appleshade watched him speak and approach with caution. "She would have arrived five days ago. Possibly with Frost."
Appleshade's heart sang as she saw recognition and then annoyance pass over the fierce she-cat's face.
"Wait here." The cave-guard flicked her tail, leaving them on the mountainside. Her multi-colored paws carried her to the edge of a large collection of rock, as if pieces from the mountain's top had crumbled long ago.
After what felt like hours, the calico she-cat appeared; a silver tabby tom was beside her. "Skyteller wishes to speak with you. No funny behavior, Clan cats."
"I am Dark Clouds of Gathering Storm," said the tom. "This is Light of Rising Sun. Follow us."
"Appleshade of TreeClan," she replied, not about to forget her manners despite the circumstances.
"Sprucefur." Said her brother before looking to Skyfall, who had become the de facto head of their search party.

Lichenfrost 58 Moons, TreeClan, (S) WarriorI've got a heart full of pain A head full of stress Lichen shuffled as her paws began to ache somewhat, glancing at Light of Rising Sun. She had been given the role of 'cave-guard' and the new name 'Lichen That Grows Under Frost' since she arrived, which was basically a warrior that didn't hunt. The roles seemed strange but she understood them, and she'd be lying she said she wasn't pleased about being told she'd be a better guard than hunter. The name was also kind of weird but Lichen had been too tired to argue about it.
Still, sitting still for ages guarding the front of a cave was tiresome and boring.
"I have no clue how you can just sit here like-" Lichen fell silent as she spotted movement further down the mountainside, her ears angling towards the shapes as her eyes narrowed. Even though she hadn't been with the tribe long, she still felt tied to the duty she'd been given.
A slow feeling of hopeful dread spread across her chest. Were they-? No, they couldn't be. Right? Yet as the pelts grew close enough to become familiar, Lichen turned tail and ran into the cave, leaving a startled Light behind.
"Lichen That Grows Under Frost, where are you going-"
Glancing around the camp, Lichen trotted quickly over to Frost. "They're here." She hissed, her ears flattened against her head in fear. What would they do? Hate her? She ran without saying goodbye for a reason, Lichen couldn't bear to see their reactions. With round eyes, Lichen turned her silver head and focused her gaze on the entrance as she heard Light challenge something outside. SKYFALLWhen it crumbles, we will stand TALL and face it all together
Fogsight was the first to spot the Tribe cats amidst the rocky terrain. With a silent signal of his tail, he kept everyone nearby, allowing those who's home they happened to be invading approach first. When the calico she-cat approached, demanding to know what they were doing here, Skyfall allowed Sprucefur and Appleshade to explain the situation. He had little knowledge surrounding what had occurred with this Frost tom, and the TreeClan senior warrior figured it would be best coming from them. The white tom couldn't help but note the she-cat's use of the words 'more Clan cats'.
So she did come by here... He thought to himself. Mismatched eyes watched the proceedings carefully, including the moment the calico excused herself to disappear into the mountain side. She came back not long after, followed by a silver tom cat. Skyfall flicked his ear as the she-cat half-scolded them, though he dipped his muzzle in acknowledgement of her demand. His gaze drifted to the tom when he cut in, using a tone Skyfall found much more respectful. Waiting until an opening presented itself, the white tom offered the pair an acknowledging nod. "Skyfall, of TreeClan."
"Feathercloud." Responded the silver she-cat at Sprucefur's side, moments before her sharp blue gaze flicked to Skyfall. Noting how the other members of the search party seemed to default to him for their next move, the white tom stepped forward with a flick of his long-furred tail. Following behind their Tribe guides, Skyfall led the small procession of TreeClanners deeper into the mountainside. It was strange, the way the rock face seemed to open up suddenly; he would have never found the entrance without help. Hyper-aware of the rawness in his pads, Skyfall took care in his pawsteps, picking a safe path albeit not necessarily the fastest path. Ducking into the dim lighting, the white tom blinked rapidly to adjust to the sudden shift.
It didn't take long for him to spot Lichenfrost amongst the Tribe cats. Stopping in his path and holding up his tail to the three other members of the patrol, he warned them carefully. "Do not break formation. I know you are all worried about her, but first and foremost, we must respect the Tribe's ways. You'll speak to her soon, understood?" Meeting each of their gazes for a heartbeat (although he lingered a moment longer on Appleshade), Skyfall sped up slightly to close the distance that had opened between them and their guides.
Light and Storm led them further into the caverns still, until eventually they arrived before a cat introduced as Skyteller. Explaining their presence here took a little time, the Tribe healer seemingly uncertain as to the importance of the journey. Eventually, however, Skyfall's explanation was accepted. "Skyfall of TreeClan, you and your company may rest here tonight. However, you will be expected to hunt with the Prey Hunters come morning, to honor our hospitality." Nodding his white muzzle, Skyfall responded respectfully. "Of course, Skyteller. We are all thankful to you and your Tribe's kindness." Once dismissed, the five were led back out into the main area.
As all eyes landed on him again, the white tom flicked his tail thoughtfully before nodding slowly. "Be careful, and be respectful." He warned them, before motioning they could approach Lichenfrost, assuming she wanted to be approached. He followed more slowly beside Feathercloud, watchful gaze on Appleshade much of the time. 68 Moons. TreeClan. Senior Warrior.

into that bright world to I go Actually meeting these other cats was a shock. Fogsight marveled at their different way of speaking, giving her name as her companions had but not really stopping to think about it. The words said to them were familiar, but they spoke as if they came from far away lands and required a different cadence to be understood in whatever lands they started in. Why are they here? She questioned, blue eyes done with examining her paws and ignoring the soft sad looks of her companions. Interest had bloomed up and she was going to follow it. "Do not break formation. I know you are all worried about her, but first and foremost, we must respect the Tribe's ways. You'll speak to her soon, understood?" As Skyfall spoke, thankfully taking the lead, Fogsight fell in line and scanned the world they found themselves moving into. Something about these cats drew Lichenfrost in, and she was going to capture everything to find out why and how. The forest below was finally lost completely to the mists, a small entrance to a cavern swallowing their leaders up as she paused to stare at the hidden familiar lands. Let's bring you home. She thought again, eyes wide to scan the interior of the cave. It was larger than it appeared from the outside, smelling similar to a medicine cat's den, with earthy nature mixing with the day to day life of cats of all kinds. She watched as queens ushered their kits into an off-shooting cave, and a pair of warriors ( were they called warriors here?) staring out from the edges of a shadow cast from the cave's entrance. Fogsight felt her fur fluff up with alarm of being watched by so many, knowing they were trespassing but unsure how. Their journey took them further into the cave, thankfully. She forced her fur to lie flat, watched the older tom that greeted them in this new place. Was was polite in his voice and mannerisms. "Skyfall of TreeClan, you and your company may rest here tonight. However, you will be expected to hunt with the Prey Hunters come morning, to honor our hospitality." Fogsight didn't hear Skyfall's response, knowing he would thank the tom for his kindness for the whole group. Her eyes instead went back to scanning for Lichenfrost. She had to be here somewhere. With a flick, her attention was drawn back to the white tom in charge of their little group. "Be careful, and be respectful." He had said, and Fogsight murmured she would be, of course. "Where is Lichenfrost?" She whispered to the group, ignoring the cats watching them. Maybe one of them caught her familiar pelt...

AppleshadeIt wasn't an exaggeration to say it took every fiber of Appleshade's being not to disobey Skyfall's words. Her eyes tracked her sister's movements desperately as the end of Lichenfrost's bottlebrush silver-black tail disappeared into the cave. Wait! Lichenfrost please don't run! Appleshade whined softly, sharing a strained glance with her brother. Sprucefur had seen her too. However, the party of TreeClan cats were led not towards Lichenfrost, but to the Tribe's leader, Skyteller. Under different circumstances, Appleshade would have delighted in this chance to meet new cats. To experience a culture so vastly different from her own. We'll have to come back under better skies, fairer weather, she sighed inwardly, light green eyes expressing worry even as she spoke words of gratitude to Skyteller for her hospitality. As soon as Skyfall ushered that they were to find her sister, Appleshade set off, letting her pretty voice reach as far into the Oasis as she dared. "Lichenfrost? It's Appleshade and Sprucefur, we've come to—we just want to talk!"~*~ Frost Frost stirred in his nest, rising with nonchalance as his daughter arrived in something of a panic. "Stay calm," he commanded Lichen. "This is your home now. They cannot change what you know in your heart to be true. You belong here." Frost brushed his tongue over the patch of fur between Lichenfrost's ears, as if to remind her that she was not without family here. Here stay had been short, but Frost believed it to be... promising. She had been welcomed as a Cave-Guard, and apparently wasn't the first Clan cat to have found a place amongst the Tribe. Frost's sharp gaze narrowed, pensive and unreadable as his other two offspring—Appleshade and Sprucefur—approached. The elder stood behind Lichen, silent reinforcement. "Greetings, Appleshade and Sprucefur." He inclined his head to the three other cats that had accompanied them. A white tom with two-toned eyes, a pointed she-cat with thick fur, and a striking silver and white tabby female sticking close to Sprucefur. "I am Frost That Clings To Branches. You may call me Frost."Appleshade spared him a glance, which was gone faster than a snowflake could melt in Greenleaf. Instead, the soft-hearted she-cat bounded over to Lichenfrost and buried her muzzle in her sister's neck fur. "Oh Lichenfrost I was so worried about you! Why didn't you come home? Why didn't you tell us you were leaving?" Hurt and concern galloped over Appleshade's heart. "Why didn't you at least say goodbye?""Step back and breathe, Appleshade," chided Sprucefur, his tail brushing his melodramatic sister's flank, coaxing her back. "Lichenfrost has her reasons, I think we should give her the chance to actually say what those reasons are."Appleshade blushed beneath her pretty silver-sorrel coat, smiling meekly at her silvery littermate. "You're right, I'm sorry. Please talk to us, Lichenfrost." Words: 472 Words Tags: @medusa BlooRey DVD williams

Lichenfrost 58 Moons, TreeClan, (S) WarriorI've got a heart full of pain A head full of stress Lichen winced as she spotted the familiar pelts pour into the cave, the tribe cats eyeing the newcomers warily - although Stoneteller greeted them with good hospitality. Twisting her green gaze away too late, she felt her pelt burn with a painful emotion as she and Skyfall locked eyes for a brief moment. Shame? Fear? Both? What did he and Feathercloud think of her now, considering she fled from home for no apparent reason.
The silver she-cat kept her eyes strained on the ground; dreading to see Appleshade's and Skyfall's faces. She had betrayed them, ran off without so much as a blink for a goodbye. What a coward she was.
Frost's comforting words fell on still ears, the lick going by without acknowledgement. These stone walls, strange ways and names. They weren't her home. Her home was with her true family, with Fogsight too. Ever since she left, she had felt like she had left her tail behind - but staying seemed impossible. There was too much bad blood between her and... pretty much all her clanmates.
"Lichenfrost? It's Appleshade and Sprucefur, we've come to—we just want to talk!"
Lichen flinched as she heard her sister cry out; her tail curling around her side. She had to face them, even if it felt like thorns were puncturing her heart with each worthless beat. Lichen glanced towards the group, barely getting a glimpse of the others before Appleshade had pressed herself against Lichen's neck.
"Oh Lichenfrost I was so worried about you! Why didn't you come home? Why didn't you tell us you were leaving? Why didn't you at least say goodbye?"
Because I'm a coward. A selfish desire urged Lichen to press back into her sister's fur and she was torn between gratitude and sorrow when Sprucefur pulled her back, gently urging Lichen to answer the questions. The she-cat exhaled; straightening her back, facing the group straight on with a mix of fear and pain in her usually emotionless eyes.
"I'm a sickness." Lichen first spoke, pausing briefly to think of an easier way to explain. "It's always been me, I'm the problem. If I wasn't around, you two would find clan life so much easier - without the tension and spite that I cause."
She turned her gaze to Feathercloud, for once it not being filled with distaste and anger. "You and Sprucefur would've found it so much easier to find love and the best traits within each other if I wasn't around, acting like an ice wall that you needed to break to get past."
"Lionstar would've trusted you both more, mousedung, he may even have looked past the whole 'Badgerstripe was our dad also' thing if I wasn't around, ruffling his fur and causing discomfort between ou- Treeclan's clanmates."
Lichen dared glimpse up at Fogsight, her gaze swiftly dropping to her paws. "You'd be better off not knowing me, Fogsight. You're smart, pretty and amazing to be around - you don't need a lout like me hanging around and breaking down the things you work hard to build up."
Lichen exhaled again, to show she had finished speaking, keeping her stare on the floor. "I'm sorry for destroying the chance you could have had, Sprucefur, Appleshade."

into that bright world to I go Appleshade had run off, twisting herself around her sister with distress clear and high in her voice. Why did you leave, her words fell around Lichenfrost like a sudden shower of rain. Fogsight watched as her friend shrunk back, then with a gentle nudge from Sprucefur, a quiet request. They wanted to understand. Could I leave her behind, let her stay here if she truly wants to be here?"I'm a sickness. It's always been me, I'm the problem. If I wasn't around, you two would find clan life so much easier - without the tension and spite that I cause."Blood rushed to her head in shock. A sickness? The rest of the words were drowned out by the roaring of her thumping heart, but Fogsight knew she would be able to recall it all later to replay it over and over once they came down the mountain. If they came down without Lichenfrost. Their eyes met, and Fogsight felt the fur along her spine spike and her fur fluff as Lichenfrost gave her reasons to her. "You'd be better off not knowing me, Fogsight. You're smart, pretty and amazing to be around - you don't need a lout like me hanging around and breaking down the things you work hard to build up."Something else was said, but Fogsight again didn't pay attention, stalking forward with her bristling spine and tears making her eyes glisten. "A lout? Breaking things? Lichenfrost, who convinced you to believe what you're saying?" She started, staring up at the cat she had grown to know and love. "Listen to yourself! You're not any of those things. You may be sharp and say the wrong things sometimes but that's who you are." She took a breath, tears now falling freely as her frustrations spilled, nose gumming up. "I love you as you. You're not perfect but why would you want to be? We don't want you to be. That's why we came to find you. We care that you left, that you thought this place could be your home. If you want to stay- fine. I, I-I would try to accept that, but pick a better reason than one that one. Because you are loved. We love you. I love you."@spottefawn BlooRey DVD @medusa | 400 | wasn't sure if i was next, but fog would probably leap over everyone else in her upsetness
