Leafscar padded to Moon Tree, his head and tail held high trying not to let himself be discouraged. Silverstar may have been dead, but it wasn't the time to mourn; he would have to take on the responsibility of a new leader.
His heart seemed to leap out as he spotted the great shining tree in the distance. It was captivating, the first time he had ever been inside to see it. The tom quickly scrambled searching for a way to find his ancestor's voice.

((um, I guess I'll play Fallingfeather since Moss isn't))
Fallingfeather padded behind Leafscar until they reached the Little Mountain, jutting out of ground in a most curious way. She took the lead as they came to the cave that would lead to the Moon Tree. The path was now not a long one, nore did it wind and twist as the one tothe Moonstone had. It was fairly straight forward and brief, but tradition called that the Clan's medicine cat should lead a deputy to become the new leader. She was overjoyed that her own brother would now be leader, and very proud of him, though now was not the time to say so. She turned to him briefly, "You know you must be silent from the moment we enter until we leave again. And you must not speak to any cat of what happens between you and StarClan... though, if they happen to give you a prophecy, feel free to tell me of it. It may be important." She remembered hearing stories of Firestar's leader ceremony and how it had been interrupted by a terrible prophecy.
She turned back to the cave and padded inside, quickly reaching the glowing white Moon Tree. There were many uncovered roots that twisted and formed places that would be great nests for any cat. She flicked her tail toward them to indicate that he should find one he liked and lay down to sleep there. She found one for herself, though she did not lay down, but rather sat upright, waiting for him to begin his dream with StarClan. She could already feel the presence of her anscestors, every so often she thought she could feel a light brush of a pelt against her own, though the only two beings here were she and Leafscar.

The tawny leader began to calm down as Fallingfeather explained. He laid down under the tree and closed his eyes lightly, waiting to fall asleep. He could hear faint whispers, and before he knew it his green eyes were open again.
"Silverstar..." He meowed softly, spotting the former leader.

The silver she-cat glittered with the light of the stars as she padded closer to her former deputy, "Leafscar... welcome to StarClan's ranks, for the first time." She touched noses with him briefly, as a mentor does to an apprentice during an apprentice ceremony. Around them, the countless members of StarClan were forming, gathering close to witness the making of a new leader. She looked around her, then back at Leafscar, "Are you ready to receive your nine lives?" She took a step back as she awaited his answer.
((you can give him the first 8 lives yourself, if you want. I don't know what cats have died that might be important enough to him to give him his lives, other than Silverstar. I'll give him his last life as Silverstar. Just make up some random names or something >.< ))

<<Hm.... How about we have Firestar.... Oh, here! Firestar-former leader Thrushtooth-mentor Lostpaw-first apprentice Milkwhisker-apprentice Redfang, Dapplegaze - friends Whitetree-first cat he fought in battle [who later died of blood loss] Deadsummer-former medicine cat Silverstar-former leader
He bowed his head to her, greatful for her support. "I believe so," The tom answered softly, his green gaze traveling over the many starry pelts. He had never seen so many cats, it was like a dream. Leafscar took a deep breath as he watched, waiting for the lives to come. "Very well." He heard her say.
A pale ginger tabby padded up to him, Leafscar greeting him with a pur. "Thrushtooth! How has life been for you?"
The StarClan tom nodded, greeting his former apprentice. "It is time for you to recieve your first life. From this moment on your old one has been ripped away to be given nine new lives. The first, my gift to you, is Mentoring. You, and all those around you still have much to learn."
Leafscar touched noses with Thrushtooth before nearly dropping on his belly. Shock pulsed through his limbs and faded away in a second--he stumbled back into balance, somewhat surprised at the pain from his new life.

After Thrushtooth stepped back, another cat padded forward to take his place, this one young, merely an apprentice, Lostpaw. The young cat touched noses to Leafscar, "With this life, I give you the endless energy of the young. You will have many duties to attend to and need all the energy you can get as leader."
Milkwhisker stepped forth next, touching noses with the soon to be leader, "With this life I give you understanding... use it well in the judgement of others, especially those not like you and those with different opinions and ideas."
Redfang came next, "I give you strategy, with this life. Use it not only during battle against your enemies, but also within your own camp...."
Dapplegaze then padded forward to touch noses with her former friend, "I give you love... for the smallest kit and oldest elder, for every cat that will now be under your care. Protect them well."
Whitetree stepped toward him then, "With this life I give you courage to face all of life's hardships, to meet even the toughest enemy in battle."
As he turned away, Deadsummer came forward, "With this life I give you faith in StarClan, yourself, and your Clan-mates." And for once, this life would only tingle and spread warmth, perhaps give a little strength back to the nearly exhausted soon to be leader.
The next cat to step up was Firestar himself, "With this life... I give you loyalty, to your Clan, to yourself, and to your heart. Never doubt yourself and always do what you feel to be right." He locked his green gaze with Leafscar's own before touching his nose to the other tom's and stepping back once more.
In between each of these new lives, they had given Leafscar little chance to recover. A leader would need to be able to withstand it all. But now they have slight pause before delivring to him his final life.

The tom took a deep breath, exhaustion weighing down his limbs. And yet, Leafscar refused to give in as he waited for his nineth and final life to come; the one that would make him leader. His dark green eyes met Silverstar's, and the tom silently braced himself for the former leader's gift.

Silverstar once more stepped forth, her eyes shining with the light of the stars, and touched her nose to Leafscar's, "With this final life, I give you wisdom. Remember the past and lead TreeClan into a better future." As she stepped back, she raised her voice to those surrounding them, "You are Leafstar, now and forever more!" The StarClan cats all called out the new leader's name, but before they could call out twice there was a startled yowl and all but Silverstar were suddenly gone. The former leader's eyes took on a light of fear as she gazed at Leafstar, though not really seeing him. Around them, everything was blackness, as if the only two things in the entire universe were Leafstar and Silverstar and nothing else existed at all, "Night will fall over the Forest, Trees will block out the Light, a mighty Storm will scatter Stone, Five fall to Four and One falls to flight. A kit finds its mother to take up the fight and the Mountain's peace will crumble and cease." She gave Leafstar no time to ask questions before she was gone as well, leaving him in utter darkness until he would wake a few moments later.

The tom awoke, thrashing before almost jumping out of his fur. He padded shakily out of the tree roots, the first part echoing deep in his brain.
Night will fall over the forest.
It sent chills down the tom's spine just thinking about it. But for now it would have to wait, his signalled towards Fallingfeather before padding onward with his eyes glazed over.
Who should I name to deputy? Well, I know only one cat who would know what to do in these dark times....

Fallingfeather sat still as if stone waiting for her leader to come. She saw him signal for her to follow subconshiously. "Whats wrong?" she asked him with pure confusion. She'd always thought after they got there name they'd be shining with pride not look like the walking dead. Had something gone wrong? Had he not beem excepted by StarClan? Fallingfeathers mind buzzed during the short peiord since she asked her question.

Leafstar decided he could not concern her with this problem before he knew more; maybe he should talk with one of his sisters? No... it was for him alone to solve. "No cat I can think of would suite a deputy." he meowed once the two cats had left the cave. He tried to hide his concern for TreeClan with a warm smile.
Hopefully, this would work itself out.[/blockquote]
