Description Summary: Elderly silver-furred tom with pale yellow eyes and dense fur.
Personality:
Frost is frightened of dying alone. Having been driven over the edge by the recent loss of his son, Dark, Frost desperately seeks out the three kits his mate left behind 58 Moons ago. While there, Frost hatches a plan to bring Lichenfrost back to the Tribe.
History:
Once known as Frostclaw, he was the estranged brother of TreeClan's former deputy, Badgerstripe. Born to Iceriver and Longwhisker, he comprised the second born of a litter of two - Badgerkit being the elder of the toms.
Frostclaw has always resented his brother, for stealing the limelight. Everything he did, Badgerstripe somehow did it better. While Frostclaw was given Littleclaw as a mentor, Badgerstripe somehow ended up with Cherrystar - and was made a warrior a full two moons earlier due to an act of "uncommon valor".
Shortly into his warriorhood, Frostclaw got into a huge argument with Pantherfoot, the Clan's deputy, and in the resulting fight Pantherfoot needlessly died. Alienated by the Clan and finding himself faced with suspicion, the final straw came when Badgerstripe was named Pantherfoot's replacement.
He was a traitor. His brother was a hero.
How typical.
Furious, Frostclaw abandoned the Clan that he felt had always ignored or ostricized him, choosing the name Frost in his new life as a loner. Yet try as he might, he was drawn back to TreeClan time and time again - unable to let go of his ties there. A pretty young warrioress, Camelliablossom, eventually caught him on the edge of TreeClan territory; rather than report him to the nearest patrol, however, the stars seemed to align just right for the two of them.
Before long, Frost was visiting the edge of TreeClan territory to visit Camelliablossom.
After nine moons of courtship, Camelliablossom joined him as a loner, taking the name Camellia. They were happy, and peaceful - but Frost was restless. Even though Camellia was now expecting his kits, Frost couldn't shake the feeling that his status as a loner (while chosen by him) wasn't where he was meant to be.
The answer appeared in the form of a thin black tom named Jay, a loner who had traveled far and wide - and brought with him stories from cats outside the valley.
Frost, enamored with talks of the Tribe, where every cat had a specific role to play, and there were no such ranks as deputies, demanded that Jay take him to the Tribe. Jay agreed, but there was one problem. Heavily pregnant, Camilla could not make the journey with three newborn kits, and Jay wanted to leave before leafbare arrived.
Torn between leaving his mate behind and pursuing his destiny with the Tribe, Frost yet again made another tough decision. With too many uncertainties surrounding the journey to risk the lives of his unborn kits, Frost and Camellia made the choice to leave those kits in the care of TreeClan.
Yet how could they ensure their kits would be accepted, considering they hadn't exactly been TreeClan's most loyal, devoted warriors?
Again, the stars aligned, and as Frost was waiting for a patrol at the border to discuss it all, he overheard an argument between Badgerstripe and Sandfur. That momentary trouble in paradise was all Frost needed to hatch a plan.
Camellia returned to TreeClan to deliver her kits, claiming that Badgerstripe was the father. That would ensure they remained in TreeClan's care, and would not carry the negative connotations associated with their real father. Though it broke her heart to leave them behind, the decision was already made.
They were going to find the Tribe of Rushing Water.
Badgerstripe's sudden death made Camellia's lie that much easier to keep, and her three kits - two daughters and a son, Applekit, Lichenkit and Sprucekit - were left in the care of the other queens. Camellia disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again.
At 50 moons of age, Frost and Camellia arrived at the Tribe of Rushing Water. They were accepted, and given new names. Frost became Frost That Clings To Branches (Frost), and Camellia became Blossoms Falling In Water or Blossom.
The rest of Frost's life was spent in times of joy and sadness, as with all things. His mate gave birth to two kits 15 moons after their initial arrival; a beautiful she-kit, Fur Soft As Sleet, and a tom, Dark Shadows on Lake. Sleet became a cave-guard, and Dark became a prey-hunter.
This peace was not meant to last, however.
Sleet died protecting a group of prey-hunters from an eagle. Not long after, Blossom succumbed to a sickness that had claimed most of the Tribe's elders. With only Dark left, Frost's life was further thrown into chaos when their home collapsed - killing Stoneteller and most of the Tribe. What remained, were led by Featherstep back to the valley. Any bitter feelings Frost felt about returning home were replaced by grief, when Dark fell off a cliff during the journey.
Old and alone, Frost is an elder whether by Tribe standards or Clan standards. Though his body is tired and showing its age, Frost's mind remains sharp. He is now seeking the last remnants of family he has left; the three kits he and his mate left behind.
