Name: Morningfrost
Age: 52 moons
Gender: she-cat
Clan: LightningClan
Rank: Senior Warrior/Queen
Picture:
Description:
It is clear that her pale coloration is what inspired her mother to name her Morningkit. Her spotted tabby coat is a pale sandy brown with darker brown spots and stripes, with small areas of pale silver above both hind legs, on the top side of her tail, and on her face, which in turn change her tabby markings to black. Patches of white further add to her pale appearance, including the lower half of all four of her legs, a small spot near the base of her tail, a larger patch on her back, her entire belly and chest, and an irregular patch on her face that covers most of her muzzle and half of one side of her face, leaving a smear of silver on the bridge of her nose. On her tail are black stripes that grow increasingly thicker the closer they get to the tip of her tail, which looks as though it has been dipped in ink. Her short fur covers a lithe frame of runner's muscle, lean and long limbed. No cat that looks at Morningfrost can doubt her LightningClan lineage, nor would they be surprised by how swift and agile she is, which makes her an excellent rabbit hunter. Her tail seems to be longer than the average cat's as well, which lends to her balancing ability and gives her greater agility. Her pretty sky blue eyes round out her overall 'morning' appearance.
Description Summary: A short furred, pale tabby and white she-cat with pretty blue eyes.
Personality:
Ambitious
All her life Morningfrost's parents have pushed her to be the best, and it is this that has shaped her whole life. Her standing in the Clan as a respected huntress, as mate to a respected fighter, as mother and daughter of respected warriors, is incredibly important to her. While rank is all well and good, respect can be earned without a fancy title to go with it, and that is what Morningfrost has fought her whole life to maintain.
Diligent
From a very young age, Morningfrost was taught that hard work is the only way to attain your goals. Sure, raw talent helps, but even raw talent can be defeated with enough study, training, and practice. Morningfrost is a cat that knows and understands that the things she desires are not going to fall so easily into her paws, and she is willing to put in the effort to attain them.
Tenacious
What Morningfrost wants, she pursues with a single-minded passion that cannot be deterred. If you become an obstacle on the way to her goals, she will happily trample you and leave you crushed and broken while she heads on her merry way. Quitting, failing, is not an option.
Meticulous
Morningfrost is a planner. She has lofty goals for the future, for herself and for her kits, and she is very good at planning in advance, staying steps ahead of those around her. Everything she does is according a plan thought out long ago, every move she makes is to further her goals, nothing is done carelessly.
Demanding
Just as much was demanded of her, she demands much from those around her, especially her kits. Her kits reflect on her and so they must be the best, they must maintain good standing in the Clan, and they must not ever fail.
Critical
Morningfrost expects complete perfection and does not tolerate failure, and as such she is terribly critical when those around her fail to meet her expectations, which they do often seeing as they are so unrealistic.
Callous
She is overly critical, and when one of her kits fails by a long shot, withdraws her affections completely until they have proven themselves worthy of her love once more. Morningfrost's love MUST be earned, it is not given freely simply because you exist. In her criticism she is cold, and often cruel in her frustration about how her kits' failures reflect back on her.
History:
Morningfrost was the only kit Tawnytail and Grasswhisker had. The two were perfectionists and expected only the best of their single daughter. They were strict and pushed her extremely hard to excel in everything she did, and when she failed there was always a lecture to be expected, seeded with disappointment. She was brought up to believe she was a reflection on her parents and her failures were their failures. And of course she would be expected to have kits, to carry on the family line, but that would come in time. Her parents began teaching her hunting basics as soon as she became steady enough on her paws for such things. By the time she became an apprentice, her hunting crouch was already flawless and even her battle stance was solid, though her parents knew better than to try teaching a kit any real fighting techniques beyond an initial stance.
She was apprenticed to a mentor equally demanding as her parents, a no nonsense she-cat that was actually impressed with her initial abilities and therefore expected even more from her than she might have otherwise. She was pushed to her limits and beyond with each and every training session, but that was just fine with her. She had to excel, had to be the best, she absolutely could not stand those disapproving looks her parents gave her when she failed, the sighs and the shaking heads and the little niggling comments that burrowed into her brain like maggots into crowfood. The thought of failure gave her anxiety ridden nightmares, though she did well to conceal any self doubt during the waking hours. She was flawless, with boundless determination and overflowing self confidence. She had to be.
She became one of the fastest and most skilled young hunters LightningClan had at the time, and her battle skills weren't bad either, at least they were either sufficient enough for her parents or her excellent hunting skills made up for any lack of battle skill in their eyes. Her complete and total dedication to her training left her little time for luxuries like friends, and she became a warrior on time at 12 moons, receiving her name proudly and sitting her vigil alone. However, the very next day her parents began pressuring her to find a mate, to continue their family line. They would point out toms they thought suitable, and she, dutifully, would approach them, completely unaware of how to start a relationship with any of them after an apprenticeship with no social life.
Most of them were either completely disinterested, intimidated by her, or simply laughed at her awkward attempts to reach out. Each new rejection brought with it new humiliation, and those looks and sighs and comments from her parents returned. Her entire sense of self worth began to revolve around her ability to attract a mate. Then her parents suggested Peregrinewing. She vaguely remembered the tom from her apprenticeship. He was a couple moon older, but had proven on numerous occasions to be... slower than his peers, and not in the chasing rabbits sense either. She was appalled and insulted at first, and nearly rejected the very idea. But then it occurred to her that if he wasn't as intelligent, he would be easier to deal with, and when she approached him she was only proven right. He was bashful, shy even, and she soon learned that he had something of a crush on her. Perfect. She wasted little time with the courting stage of their relationship, purring to him that all she really wanted was to raise a nice little family.
At 24 moons, she gave birth to a litter of three, two healthy, perfect toms, Harekit and Thrushkit, and a runty but prettily colored she-cat, Lark-kit. She initially had not even thought about her daughter's smaller size, not until her parents came to visit their new grandkits. Despite her perfect sons squirming at her belly right beside her, all her parents could see was the too small she-cat. The sighs and the comments began anew, and Morningfrost quickly became disgusted with her daughter, for she represented just another of her failures in her parents' eyes. Every time they visited her in the nursery, they had a brand new comment about Lark-kit. Morningfrost seethed silently at first, trying to focus instead on her lovely sons.
As they grew, Morningfrost did as her own parents had done, began their training early. However, she made Peregrinewing occupy Lark-kit when she could, so she could better focus on her brothers, or otherwise tried to ensure Lark-kit was busy playing with some of the other kits in the nursery. This seemed to earn her back some of her parents' approval, for she wasn't 'wasting her time' with the runt. It validated her choice to push Lark-kit away. Finally the three became apprentices and she was free of all responsibility for Larkpaw's well being. She cut herself off from her daughter completely, and would only throw cold, detached comments at her if ever Larkpaw sought her out, and if the poor dumb creature didn't get the point she would lash out with brutal verbal blows. She wanted nothing to do with her failure.
She kept in close contact with her sons, however, and their new mentors, wanting to ensure they were getting proper training and that their mentors were not slacking off. Her sons earned their warrior names after an impressive hunting display and proven battle prowess respectfully, and she had never been prouder, even as their sister remained behind in the apprentice den. Just as her parents had done, she began pressuring her sons to find mates of their own, she-cats with good standing in the Clan, with notable families and unquestionable LightningClan lineage. In the midst of her meddlings, Peregrinewing asked her if she wouldn't like to have another litter. She was surprised at first, but after thinking about it for a little while she agreed. Perhaps she her new litter could erase the failure that was Larkfeather from her parents' memories. She gave birth to two healthy, normal kits in newleaf, and her parents had only words of pride to offer her. She named the she-cat Dawnkit and the tom Eaglekit.
Other: Her kits, Dawnkit and Eaglekit, are up for adoption.
