The fluffy she-cat crossed the camp, wide eyes gazing around. She wasn’t really looking for anyone; Coldpaw was out with his mentor and her own mentor was spending time with the she-cat that had arrived a few days before. She didn’t know who the new cat was, but Frozenpaw could tell she was special to Rushwhisker, so she didn’t mind so much. Besides, it gave her a chance to find a little more independence.
Reaching the edge of camp, she stopped, looking across to the other side. She usually couldn’t quite make the jump, but the water was lower now. She crouched, wiggling her haunches to adjust the way her weight was distributed, then pounced. She stretched her forelegs out, making contact with the far bank, a surge of pride flaring through her as her back paws landed on land instead of in the water. With her small triumph boosting her mood, she trotted away, tail flagged high.
Her pawsteps were somewhat aimless at first, but with the sun shining down on her, her thick coat, though white, soon became a burden. She turned toward where she believed the river to be, thinking of the cool waters. She walked in as straight a line as she could, eventually seeing the sparkling waters of the river up ahead. A new wave of eagerness had her picking up her step and she reached the river fairly quickly.
The first thing she did when she reached the river was to creep up close and take a drink. The water was cool despite the sun, and soothed her throat and helped to ease some of the heat. She then took turns dipping each of her forepaws into the water, letting the water run over her pawpads before lifting her paw to lap at the water dripping off. Once she had sufficiently satisfied her thirst and cooled herself a little, she backed away from the water and wandered upstream.
A splash in the water caught her eye and she slowed, looking down. There were a few fish swimming around, chasing bugs near the surface. Seeing an opportunity to test her skills, she sat, setting herself up to fish. The sun was almost directly overhead, so there weren’t so many shadows to worry about, and she slowly reached her forepaw out over the water, hovering there until an opening appeared.
sorry it's kind of long. don't worry about trying to match it.unless you really want to, then go for it xD
