Name: Stormheart
Age: 76
Gender: tom
Clan: RainClan
Rank: Senior Warrior
Picture:
Description: There are some cats who suspect that Stormheart has ancestry from outside Rainclan, due to his bulkier form and long thick fur. But Stormheart is adamant in his ancestry, and proud of it. His smoky gray fur is nonetheless sleek and water repellent, with an under layer of fluff which keeps him and often several other cats warm during the snowy moons. White splashes his chest and belly, and his paws and muzzle seem as if they were stuck in snow. Thick shoulders and webbed dark paw pads allow Stormheart to ford the river and even manage against the current. His wedge-shaped head is topped with conical ears which are usually pert and alert to the slightest sound. Yet the most contrasting of his features are his pink and grey nose, and his bright golden yellow eyes which seem like solid sunbeams.
Description Summary: Large, stocky grey tom with low white and bright yellow eyes.

Honor, duty, loyalty. These are the words Stormheart would use to describe himself with.
Most cats just think he's a sarcastic stoic who has no happiness in life.
To be fair, most cats don't try to understand Stormheart. They see his huge form and his normally scowling face as intimidating and avoid him. They misunderstand his dry sarcastic humor as dislike on his part. Normally Stormheart does not seek out any sort of social interaction on his own, but neither does he necessarily avoid it. He just has a certain level of tolerance for what he sees as lack of understanding and organization, and thus has a hard time dealing with louder and more erratic cats, as they often send him into a slight panic. For him, organization and cleanliness are key, and he keeps his fur and nest immaculate. It is easy to tell when he is under extreme stress, as he begins to lose control of his nest and fur.
Stormheart also has a very strong handle on his emotions, which makes it seem as if he doesn't feel any at all. Of course that is most definitely not the case, it is simply that Stormheart has always considered showing his personal emotions to be dangerous, a weakness which can be exploited. Instead, he keeps his emotions and thoughts deeply inside himself, showing them only through his actions towards others. Particularly he shows his love and affection for his younger sister in acts of caring for her to the best of his ability, making sure she is always comfortable, and healthy, and safe.
Despite what seem to be his great difficulties with other cats, Stormheart is a model warrior. A master of organization and a talented mentor, he is acknowledged as one of the warriors to go to to get something done in camp, or if a mentor is struggling with an apprentice. This is where Stormheart gained his name, his fierce dedication to his clan, to his leader, and to the code. His life revolves around the structure of the rules of the clan, they are his foundation, his lifeline. Without the clan, without his code, he would be nothing. Because of the warrior code, he is very specific about how he treats others. He has never been friendly with cats of another clan, he has always treated every cat, and particularly kits, with respect, and endeavors to never put himself in a position which would cause him to accidentally kill another cat. Which unfortunately makes him a tentative although still skilled fighter.
In any case, this tom is far deeper than most cats in his clan may think.
History: Ember flower was a born queen, a shecat who enjoyed spending time with and caring for kits. Yet even though she had spent nearly 20 moons in the nursery, she had yet to have kits of her own. Granted she had been somewhat picky, not just accepting any toms advances... but by then she was getting impatient. That was when Alder tail came crashing into her life. Dashing, clever, and devilishly handsome, he wooed her and seduced her. Yet there was a darker side to him. He had a fierce anger problem, and was jealously controlling. Ember flower had his kits, but as soon as she did, she realized her mistake. When Alder tail immediately began to claim all her and the tiny kits time and attention, he made any decisions for her. When her first kits reached apprentice age, Ember flower finally gained the courage to defy Aldertail, and made it clear that he was to not come close to her or her kits ever again. Supporting her was Aldertails own brother, Birchshadow. He had watched Ember flower be abused by his brother and decided he could no longer stand for it. In the end, he and Ember flower fell in love, and before her first kits had become warriors, Ember flower was pregnant again, but this time, happily.
That was when Storm kit and his brother Sleet kit were born. Their kithood was surprisingly happy, and they played with their older half siblings as well as their father and mother. Yet there was always a certain solemnity to their older siblings, and a nervousness and protectiveness on the part of their father. Unfortunately the kits were too young to understand, and thus were not prepared when the time came.
Aldertail was ever cunning, and his jealously and anger had never faded. Seeing an opportunity, he went to the leader, with seemingly true repentance, and asked to mentor one of his nephews. His request was granted, with the understanding that should he mistreat his nephew he would be banned from mentoring any apprentice after. But Aldertail was patient. When the time came, Storm paw was apprenticed to Aldertail. Ember flower and Birchshadow protested, but the leader stood by his promise, in both ways. Should Aldertail misbehave, he would lose any ability to mentor in the future. The promise did little to allay the parents fears.
Aldertail kept by his promise. He never touched Storm paw... but that was not to say he treated him well. It was always small things, disappointment in what seemed like failure on Stormpaws part, cutting words, undermining confidence, threats, condescension, extra duties. Aldertail with all his skill cut off his nephew from his parents, tore his confidence to shreds, and nearly destroyed him. Yet he also trained him, he had to make sure he never went too far. So at 10 moons, Storm paw was doing as well as any apprentice his age should, but he felt as if he was moons behind.
Eventually it was Sleetpaw that saved him. Or at least somewhat. His brother was the one who noticed how deeply his mentor had been hurting him, and stood up to the callous uncle. At that point Aldertail made his mistake, in rage he struck Sleetpaw, but unintentionally sent the apprentice flying to crack his head on a stone. Sleetpaw did not survive. The clan was outraged, and the leader exiled Aldertail for his blatant break of the warrior code. After the tragedy, the deputy finished his training, instilling a respect for the code and the law which had ultimately passed judgement and given Stormpaw his justice.
When Stormpaw became Stormheart, he vowed to uphold the warrior code and make sure that no cat ever had to go through what he did.
After several moons as a warrior, he was surprised when his parents announced they were having another litter of kits. When they were born, Stormheart always made sure they were safe and cared for... but he was never particularly comfortable with being around them and playing with them as kits. When they became apprentices and could actually be reasoned with, he spent more time than may have been appropriate to supplement their training, and ended up helping his younger brother Goosepaw to become a warrior a moon earlier than normal.
Eventually Stormheart finally became a mentor, and mentored two different young cats to become excellent warriors. Other than that he has lived life in much the same routine. Patrol, hunt, care for his clamates, fight the best he can for his clan against intruders.
As the many moons passed, Stormheart was greatly saddened to watch as one by one, his family began leaving him one by one. His mother was the first to pass, from an infected wound after a border fight. Next his older brother, from eating spoiled freshkill during one of the many times of little prey. Next one of his younger siblings, who passed from illness. And finally his father, in the most recent Leafbare, from an infection. The few family which Stormheart has left, he is very protective and watchful of.
Unfortunately at the passing of Razorstar, a great struggle has wracked his clan. Stormheart is older now, he has spent many moons watching cats, he was there when Timberstar joined Rainclan, he saw her pain and her struggle. Although he has never been one for outbursts of emotion, he was very clear in his support of the new she-cat. She was the rightfully chosen leader, and unless Starclan themselves had anything against the appointment (which Swanfeather conveniently never mentioned) he would follow his leader and the code. Yet there were those who did not agree, and he could understand why. It pained him to watch his younger siblings have to choose. The clan became divided brother against brother, mother against child, friend against friend. He hated it, and he wanted to fix it.

Other: If in a month I am accepted, I think I will attempt to try out with Stormheart as deputy. Until then he will remain a senior warrior.
