LIONSTAR
60 Moons. Leader of TreeClan
Greenleaf was on the horizon. Even the nights were warmer now, hinting at pleasant breezes swelling through the hollowed logs of TreeClan's encampment. Lionstar made his way through the milling cats, the small party of TreeClan warriors (and apprentices) allowed to go looked excited to attend. The air fizzled with energy, as though right before a summer storm. They had plenty of good reason for their merry moods; for the first time in a long time, their bellies were full, the ice and snow were now unpleasant memories of moons past, and the season of plenty was soon upon them.
Lionstar could also note that, in terms of territory, this newleaf had left them in favorable conditions.
He caught Meadowleaf's eye, and his own carried a question. Are we all ready?
She smiled in affirmation. Lionstar gave a word of command to depart, and then plunged into the forest at an easy pace, strong limbs carrying him over the forest floor with the might and balance of a true wild cat. The apprentices would have trouble keeping up—Lionstar smirked to himself for a heartbeat—but that was fine; they needed to stretch their legs. Burn off some of that excited energy. He didn't expect any rule-breakers at the Gathering, at least not any from his Clan, but feeling the wind comb its fingers through their fur and the moon gleam at their backs would do them good nevertheless.
Without the unpleasant weather consisting of either cold mud, deep snow or torrential rain, the journey to StarClan's Claws was a quick one. Arriving at the river's edge, Lionstar signaled with his tail for his Clanmates to cross with caution; golden ears rotated to catch snippets of conversation—mentors doling out advice to their apprentices, apprentices coaxing one another to cross without fear—above the low, constant rush of flowing water. He did not enjoy arriving at the gathering wet, but fortunately this was a minor thing, the water slogging against his belly only due to the recent snow melt. That the water did not chill his paws to the bone was a blessing. Lionstar shook the water from his legs and continued on, (Meadowleaf herded the group along, keeping a careful eye out for stragglers) surprised to find that they were the first ones here.
With the enormous boulder in the center of the meetingplace all to himself, Lionstar spared a few quick words with Meadowleaf and Bluejay before ascending the high rock. With the changes in leadership happening more often than not, there was no set order. TreeClan did not sit on the far end, or in the center as a rule; it was first come, first serve.
With no formal placement, Lionstar took the center position. A cloudless, glittering night, he bathed in the light of StarClan's single glowing eye, watching with a noble bearing and an expression of benign interest as he awaited the four other Clans.
