The brown and silver tabby markings of Gullpaw moved quickly through the fallen leaves and soggy ground. The tom was on a mission, he wanted to see his brother or someone who knew his brother. Gullpaw was a jumble of nerves but the momentum of his brisk trot kept the troublesome thoughts at bay. Never in his entire life had the green-eyed apprentice met his brother Hawkfall. He new of stories, the ones that Crowblaze told him but they were often filled with bile and distrust of their sibling.

Falonleap had died when Gullpaw was young, he never got to understand why his big brother left and lived in StoneClan. Gullpaw hadn't been to any gatherings since StoneClan's return and by default he never crossed paths with him, a strange situation indeed.

The scent markers grew stronger as he slowed down, his pace falling into a nice walk. He hoped his timing would be good considering the warmth of the high sun gazed on his pelt. Carefully the tom found a nice place to sit and wait. He wasn't looking for Hawkfall directly, but he wanted to at least talk with one of his brother's clanmates. Hidden in the underbrush Gullpaw waited for a StoneClan cat to come near the border.
