Galebird
The Voice of Reason

It was well past dawn as the sun started to fall from the top of it's crest towards the world to let darkness come forth and bring night. The heat from the day, though still warm, was beginning to cool and the sky was lit with colors of beauty that ran together. Reds, oranges and purples were reflected in the creek water that laid still in the cut of land where it lay.

White paws padded along the shore where it was dry, so as not to muddy up the pale color of fur that the Warrioress wore. Deep amber eyes, fierce and strong, but also wise and gentle, watched the crystal shimmer of the creek next to her as she padded along silently, following a scent she had caught earlier on her mid-day hunt.

A large rabbit swung from the former queen's jaws, it's back legs bumping against her chest and for-legs, managing to ignore the annoyance it would have caused any other warrior for carrying it such a long way. An ear twitched as she caught the steady breathing of the she-cat who belonged to the scent she was tracking down the creek side.

Her daughter's tabby pelt came into view, and a purr slowly rose from the chest and throat of Galebird as the Senior Warrior made her way over to where Bramblethorn was sitting. Her daughter looked a lot like her father, Galebird's former mate who now hunted with Starclan. The similarities between Bramblethorn and Crowfoot even went on to their brilliant blue eyes.

Beautiful eyes that Galebird's amber orbs caught when Bramblethorn's attention was caught. Setting down the large rabbit, the white she-cat settled herself next to the tabby warrioress, letting their pelts touch as Galebird reached over to run her tongue over her daughter's ear quickly.

"I brought some food." Her purr was obvious in her voice. The older between the two was hoping to have some time to talk to her daughter. She had some curiosities, and musing about the tom that Bramblethorn had been spending time with lately.

And perhaps, Bramblethorn would allow Galebird to confide in her as well, as the former queen had some interesting things to discus as well.

It was very true that Bramblethorn greatly resembled her father. It wasn't hard to figure out, since she and Galebird looked nothing alike. Galebird was still however her mother, and worthy of respect in Bramblethorn's eyes, as well as her uncles. She hadn't spent much time with her uncles as of late, unfortunately, but here was a chance to find out what had been going on with her mother recently. She felt Galebird's tongue rasp over her ear like any mother with her kit would, and that gave Bramblethorn an old sense of comfort. Normally she would turn away, probably in a huff, from anything resembling the safety of youth (she was a warrior, what did she care for personal safety? Her duty was to protect LightningClan!) but for her mom-cat she would make an exception. "Thank you," she purred in return, "Is there anything you want to talk about?" She had to ask of course, there was every chance all Galebird wanted to do was rest and enjoy her daughter's presence, it had happened before, but there was equal possibility there was something on her mind.
