Two moons had passed since Lavenderpaw's apprenticeship ceremony. And that meant two moons had passed ever since she had first been allowed outside the confines of the TreeClan camp. Lavenderpaw remembered her first trip outside the camp, almost like it had happened just a few sunrises ago. It had been the most amazing feeling in the world - Barreling out into the open sunlight and inhaling the fresh scents of the forest. It was like being engulfed in a whole new world that was completely open for the young cat to explore.
So far, her favorite spot in all of Treeclan's territory was a meadow full of blooming wildflowers. It offered her peace and quiet, a place to stop and just think and appreciate nature, but it was also always lively with the buzzing of bees and the splotches of colors that seemed all the more vibrant in the season of greenleaf. It was also a pretty good place to hunt for any unsuspecting field mice.
Whenever the small ivory-shaded she-cat wasn't off training or being watched by her mother, she could be found milling around here aimlessly. With its gentle breeze and sweet scents riding the drafts, Lavenderpaw enjoyed nothing more than lazing around underneath the shining sun, most likely on her back with her fluffy tummy exposed to the expanding blue sky above, and daydreaming about various things. Today was no different. The apprentice was taking a break from hunting, having only caught a mouse and a sparrow so far, and was loitering about. Her characteristically large ears were perked for any trivial sounds such as scuffling or squeaking - alert for any sign that might allow her to make another catch.
However, the faraway look in her pastel blue eyes suggested that Lavenderpaw was only half-listening. In fact, she was barely paying any attention whatsoever to where she placed her petite white-washed paws. She was more or less just going with the flow right now, as she found her mind preoccupied with other things. Her thoughts were all a jumbled mess, and her ideas jumped from one thing to another. Her current thought was stuck on whether or not cats would be better off with wings. Also, why did cats not come equipped with wings in the first place? How did an animal go about gaining wings? Perhaps if she tried hard enough, she would be the first cat in all the Clans to have wings! Now, wouldn't that be spectacular?
