@nadia so untamed and we're so alive She couldn't believe it. She was still in shock, her half-brother trusted her enough to give her an apprentice! The sorrel she-cat bounced along, her calico apprentice in tow. She could still remember her first day of training, how excited she had been. She was just as excited now, if not more. An apprentice! One just for her! She knew she had to train her well, to make Lionstar proud. She had to prove that she was capable enough to follow through with something as important as this.
Rowanberry stopped and turned around, smiling brightly at Emberpaw. "Are you excited? I'm excited. We're going to have so much fun together!" Rowanberry quivered excitedly. "So, what do you want to do first? Do you want to see the territory? It took two days for Luckeyes to show me everything, you don't know her, she died before my apprenticeship was over, and Thunderclaw had to take over. He was a great mentor. Anyway, it took two days for Luckeyes to show me the territory, but if you're up for it and we move fast enough, we might be able to go through it all today."
The sun was just above the horizon, and with Rowanberry's high energy and the new apprentice excitement Emberpaw was likely feeling, it was possible that, if they moved quickly and hit no snags along the way, they would end up back at camp before the moon rose.

EMBERPAW
The apprentice yawned as she woke up. It was her first day as an apprentice, and her mentor was just as hyper as she could be. She smiled and her own mood began to pick up as her mentor got bouncier and bouncier. The calico she-cat followed her sorrel mentor as she stopped and turned. Emberpaw could see the bright smile on her mentors face, and she couldn't help but mimic it.
She listened to her mentors words and she chuckled lightly. She shook her head as her mentor start to ramble on and on and she purred lightly. She touched the older she-cat with her own tail then. "If we are going to go see the territory, then lets go, before the moon does rise." With those words she lightly teased her mentor.
She knew that some cats took days to do the territory tour, but Emberpaw wanted to get done with it already and she wanted to start learning to hunt and fight. She then nudged her mentor before the calico she-cat took off toward the entrance of the camp. She hoped that by making this a race to the entrance, then her mentor would get moving.
Emberpaw was doing her best already to behave and not boss her mentor around like she does her brothers. She purred though for she knew that they were already doing her chores and that meant that she got to come home and have fun after this training.

so untamed and we're so alive "Oh, right. Yes, um, let's go. Yeah." Rowanberry stumbled over her words, her fast tongue tangled up in the sudden change of coonversation.
Emberpaw nudged her, shaking Rowanberry from the fog that had taken over her mind. The calico she-cat bounded off, and Rowanberry stared after her. "Hey! No fair!" She turned and raced after her apprentice, blowing past her after they exited the camp. She turned and headed toward the NightClan border.
"Follow me!" The she-cat stretched out her legs and ran, the rush of wind through her fur exhilerating. She looked back after a few moments, having forgotten she had a tagalong. She slowed her pace, realizing the smaller cat would have trouble keeping up with her long legs.
She flashed a smile at her calico apprentice before fixing her eyes forward. The last thing she needed was to trip over something. That would make for a very awkward experience for the both of them.
So she focused, watching where she placed her paws, keeping an ear out for her apprentice, aiming her path to the NightClan border.
The trees thinned slightly, and an ancient tree loomed ahead. Rowanberry's paws slowed, and she came to a halt near the roots of the tree. She stood for a moment, catching her breath, before looking down at Emberpaw. "This is the Great Maple. It's where we'll learn to climb trees, when you're ready." She smiled a moment, thinking of her very first tree climbing lesson. "Daringheart took all the apprentices out for a tree climbing lesson one day. As soon as she said go, I was up the tree. Unfortunately, getting down was a lot harder than getting up, and I had to be taken down by one of the warriors." Her pelt still flushed a little warm as she thought of that day, and the way the other apprentices looked at her, and the way Lionstar tried to hide his laughter when he found out.
She looked up at the tree, a soft smile on her face. She remembered how she had marveled at the sheer size of the tree when she had first seen it, and she looked to her apprentice, wondering if she felt that same awe.

She rolled her eyes once more as her mentor stumbled over her own words. This would prove to be an interesting appreticeship, and Emberpaw knew it now. The calico she-cat obeyed when she was told to follow her mentor. She wanted this day to be over with already though. She was proving to have an odd mentor, who seemed to lost track of her thoughts most of the time, as well as forgetting what she was supposed to be doing.
She had no problem keeping up with Rowanberry, but the other she-cat decided to slow down anyways. They both soon stopped at the Great Maple tree. The calico she-cat looked up into the tree and she shook her head. Why in StarClan would you want to climb that?" She heard the last part about her mentor going and up but needing help coming back down and she could not help but laugh.
"Do you have dung for brains? How hard is it to get down from the tree?" She knew her words had to hurt her mentor then, but the apprentice just did not care. She was not supposed to be kind to every cat whom she meets. She is not supposed to even be listening to a cat who acts just like her litter mates. She flicked her tail and she waits for her mentor to finally become the warrior she was and to scold Emberpaw. I doubt that would happen. She seems to be too much of a pushover. Her own thoughts seemed to be just as rude as this cat herself.

"Do you have dung for brains?" Rowanberry looked down at her apprentice in shock. "How hard is it to get down from the tree?" The sorrel she-cat's shocked expression changed to one more akin to scorn. How dare her apprentice speak to her like that?! She glared down at Emberpaw. "Alright, first things first. You will not talk to me like that, ever." Her words were stern, different from her usual bubbly manner. "I want to be friends with you. I don't want to have to be harsh with you. But if you speak to me that way, there will be consequences."
She continued to stare down Emberpaw, hopefully driving her point home. After a minute, she sighed inwardly and looked up at the tree. "If you think it's so easy to climb down, why don't you get up there youself and see what it's like."
She looked down at Emberpaw again, a challenge in her gaze. Emberpaw wanted to play rough? Then Rowanberry would play rough. If she thought about it, she would come to the conclusion that this would be a very interesting apprenticeship.

EMBERPAW of TreeClan 06 Moons. She-Cat. Apprentice
She saw the shock on Rowanberry's face and she purred lightly in amusement. If she was to be a mentor, how could she allow a six moon old cat get on her nerves already. Sure, Ember probably wasn't on her nierves, but she was probably making the older she-cat mad. Which was soon confirmed. "Alright, first things first. You will not talk to me like that, ever." Emberpaw listened and she made a mental note, make the cat mad, and she finds her claws. That might be useful. "I want to be friends with you. I don't want to have to be harsh with you. But if you speak to me that way, there will be consequences." That was where the older cat messed up. "Just because you want to be friends with me, doesn't me I want to be friends with you." There was venom chasing those words, but then, venom chased all of this she-cats words.
"If you think it's so easy to climb down, why don't you get up there yourself and see what it's like." Emberpaw snorted a laugh then and she looked up at the tree. "Fine, then I will." The calico she-cat left her spot and walked over to the tree. It was a large one, but she wasn't scared, or at least, not willing to show it. The she-cat started to dig her claws into the tree and she climbed her way up the tree, and to the top. After sitting up there for a few moments, she turned and looked down to start climbing back to the ground.
Maybe she had a reason to be scared. This is high up. Emberpaw was scared now too, but she started to slowly climb down the tree, making her way safely. But when she got half way, one of her claws broke and her paw slipped. She made a small squeak in surprise but she caught herself.

Rowanberry lashed her tail at the apprentice's words. Fine then. No more friends. She would have to work on being more strict and formal in their training, which would prove difficult for her, she knew. Trying to control her kit-like antics? Definitely a daunting task.
"Fine, then I will." Emberpaw began to climb the tree, going higher than Rowanberry would have liked, but the she-cat said nothing. She stood below, watching as her apprentice went higher and higher. But going up was always easier. Emberpaw stopped on a branch and looked down, and Rowanberry saw a slight fear in the she-cat's posture. She began climbing down, slowly. "One branch at a time, Emberpaw! Don't try to scale the whole tree at once," she called up in a calm voice. Not bubbly, not angry, just a normal, day to day speech pattern most cats held.
A sharp movement and a squeal caused her ears to flick up and her eyes to shift to worry. "It's okay, Emberpaw! Go slowly, take your time!" She tried to convey calm to her apprentice, hoping she would heed her words and take a break on the closest branch.

EMBERPAW of TreeClan 06 Moons. She-Cat. Apprentice
She could tell that she hurt her mentor a little when she said that she didn't want to be friends, and that made the apprentice even more smug then she already was. But all the smugness was gone when she got to the top of the tree. But as she stared at the bottom she swallowed lightly. "One branch at a time, Emberpaw! Don't try to scale the whole tree at once."
She listened to the warning of her mentor, but after she slipped, she clung to the spot where she was and she stared at the ground. That was close, really close. Too close. Her ears flicked to the ground when her mentor called from the ground. "It's okay, Emberpaw! Go slowly, take your time!" She took that sentence and she looked beside her and she found a branch that was closest to her and she slowly made her way to it.
Once she was on the branch, she was shaking. Her left paw hurt from the claw that had slipped, but she needed to get down. Some after a few minutes of standing there and waiting for herself to calm down. She took a deep breath and she started to climb to the branches that were after that. Once she reached the ground, she plopped on her butt and she looked at Rowanberry.
"Okay, you are right. That was horrible." She admitted her defeat and she lifted her left paw and started to lick it. There was a little blood, but not enough to be worried about, but one of her claws was broken and she sighed lightly. She looked at Rowanberry once more and she sighed lightly, again. "I am sorry Rowanberry."

Rowanberry sighed with relief when Emberpaw eased herself onto one of the branches. At least she was listening to her. She tensed again as her apprentice continued to climb down, but she was pleased to see she had taken her words to heart. When Emberpaw finally dropped to the ground, Rowanberry finally let go the breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding. She fought back the sudden urge to pounce on her like a mother on her kit, to cover her with licks and purrs and thank-StarClan-you're-okays. Instead she looked at her apprentice with relief.
"Okay, you were right. That was horrible." Emberpaw looked down and began licking at her paw. Rowanberry leaned forward a little, trying to get a closer look. Before she could, Emberpaw had dropped her paw to the ground and looked up at her. "I am sorry, Rowanberry."
Rowanberry smiled softly at her apprentice. "It's okay, Emberpaw." And it was. In her concern for her apprentice, she had forgotten her earlier anger, as it seemed unimportant now. All that mattered was that she was safe. "Come on. How about we go back to camp, have Littletimber take a look at that paw, and you can take a break for the rest of the day. Sound good to you?" If anything, she knew the importance of resting an injury, no matter how minor it may seem. She'd been in Emberpaw's place more than once, and though she hadn't liked it much, she always felt better after a bit of rest, and was thankful for Thunderclaw enforcing Littletimber's call for bedrest.

Emberpaw was happy to be taking it branch by branch. She already almost fell once, and she was not about to do it again. Besides, she might not have been able to catch herself a second time, the first time was close enough. She didn't want to fall and break something more than just a claw. But once she was on the ground, she was happy to be able to feel the grass beneath her paws but she was humiliated, which was something that she didn't like at all.
But when she spoke to Rowanberry and apologized, she could tell that her mentor wanted to see her paw, so Emberpaw lifted it back up for Rowanberry could see it. There was still a small amount of blood pooling over, but there were some minor scratches that could be seen now.
"It's okay, Emberpaw." Emberpaw sighed lightly and she smiled lightly. Maybe she could get along with Rowanberry better than she thought. But then, they were alike, so she might not last that long in her kindness if she was to not try. "Come on. How about we go back to camp, have Littletimber take a look at that paw, and you can take a break for the rest of the day. Sound good to you?" Emberpaw looked up from the ground that she had looked at for some reason and she nodded lightly. "Okay Rowanberry."
Emberpaw started to follow after her mentor back to camp then.
