Redstar
Dawn’s light hadn’t yet crested the horizon when the red tabby she-cat emerged from her den. Below the small hill that she stood atop of, a shadowy silhouette, all was a calm quiet. A chilling wind sent shivers rippling through her, but she brushed aside the sensation, numbing herself to the cold, she’d experienced much worse anyway.
Redstar let a small yawn depart her jaws, pausing for a moment to observe the world around her. Her eyes were well adjusted to the pre-dawn light, so she had no difficulty in placing each of the dens that were collected around the hill-top. As far as she could tell, she was the only one awake, or at least the only one brave enough to venture out into the darkness.
Her amber gaze drifted to the meadows and grasslands of her clan’s territory, feeling a great tugging in her heart to just throw aside her responsibilities and streak through the grasses, free, with only the wind as her companion. That was usually her reason for awakening so early, but today was slightly different. There’d be someone accompanying her this morning.
Resisting the temptation to just flee camp, the long-limbed she-cat picked her way down the hill with an easy grace, landing nimbly at the bottom with not so much as a ruffled hair on her pelt. She smiled to herself, standing quite still for a moment before making her way over to the Apprentices’ Den, frost crunching beneath her pawsteps.
Peering into the dim, Redstar could just about make out the forms of several sleeping apprentices, but the question was, where was the apprentice she was looking for? The red-yellow tabby wasn’t quite sure as to whether Gingerpaw would enjoy today’s training session, it certainly wasn’t going to be an easy one. Redstar wanted to challenge the dark tortoiseshell she-cat today, to get a glimpse of her apprentice’s true potential.
Realising that there didn’t seem to be any movement from within the den, Redstar assumed that her apprentice wasn’t awake yet, or at least she was keeping very, very still. Blinking, the LightningClan leader called softly, her voice only just audible as not to wake any of the other apprentices, “Gingerpaw, are you awake?” tentatively, she took a step into the den, her gaze seeking out the tortoiseshell-pelted apprentice, “We're going training.”

Lately I've been, I've been praying hard,
So no more counting dollars, We'll be counting stars...
