Lionsong
Kionsong had debated with her feelings for the past couple evenings and finally had come to terms with them. She was deeply, madly and truly in love with Sandstrike. While her knowledge of love were lacking in all aspects, she allowed to just let the feelings grow and blossom. Having for an evening confided in her mother about her growing feelings for the sandy colored tom had the she-cat scared but sure that she was in fact in love with Sandstrike. Summoning up the courage to say something to him she left a polite message with Stormchaser so that when Sandstrike returned from wherever he was, since he wasn't in their shared nest, to have him join her in the wildflower clearing. Just the idea of confessing her feelings toward him had her heart racing and ears warm.
Her pace was light and she did her best to avoid the large patches of snow that still remained, while her fur had thickened over the course of the cold moons, she hardly sought out to play in the snow and much rather keep her paws dry and void of anything that was frozen water. She relied heavily on her nose to find the old wildflower clearing that was in fact covered in a blanket of snow. A frown formed on her maw but she wanted it to be special it wasn't everyday that she confessed her love for someone and she was going to make it important and memorable.
Using her paws and cleared a circle in the ground just large enough for and Sandstrike to sit once he arrived, now it was a waiting game.
And you will never know, just how beautiful you are to me, but maybe I'm just in love when you wake me up.

Sandstrike I’m on my way home, And I’m worn to the bone, And when my heart hits an all time low, There’s something shining through, I find the light in you… Snow had been falling the previous night, blanketing TreeClan's territory in a thin veil of white. A bitter wind wound its way through the wizened oaks and willowy birch trees to reach the sandy-furred tom, nagging at his pelt with icy fingers. It was at times like these that, for once, Sandstrike wished he had a long pelt. It hadn't been the most successful hunt as of yet; as expected, the TreeClan warrior had found that most prey was safely tucked up in their burrows, snug and freed of the bitter cold. Lucky things. Sandstrike's only prey on his snowy morning expedition had been an overly curious young mouse who had ventured from the safety of his underground home to see what all the white stuff was about. In all honesty, it had been an easy catch, but at least it would feed some hungry TreeClanner's belly, for the meanwhile at least.
As he travelled through the undergrowth, having buried his prey a while back, amongst the roots of a twisted oak tree, the sandy-pelted tom found his blue gaze drifting to the clouded sky above. He'd heard from one of the elders that it would probably snow again later, much to his dismay. Sandstrike had long passed the days which he'd look forward to snow, for days of fun, playing in the white stuff. No, snow was something to be avoided; it made hunting difficult, meaning the possibility of some cats going to sleep with empty bellies, plus, it was just too cold! The cats with long pelts had it fine, but for Sandstrike and others with short pelts, it could be freezing.
After a few heartbeats, the pale ginger tom drew to a halt. Well, I might as well attempt to get some more hunting in, I might even catch something. He lifted his head, drinking in a deep breath and savouring the scents of the forest. The snow made it difficult to make any sense of the jumble of scents reaching the sandy-furred tom, though occasionally he'd pick up the faint scent of a robin or a squirrel, but they were too stale. There was no point trying to track those prey, they would be long gone now. I'll try the Wildflower Clearing then, there's usually a mouse or two scurrying about there to be caught. Inhaling a deep breath, then exhaling, his breath billowing into soft clouds, the sandy-furred tom continued, travelling at a swift pace as to keep warm.
He slowed his strides as he neared his destination, not wanting to frighten any prey that could be lurking. Secretly, he'd chosen the Wildflower Clearing for hunting as it was his favourite place in TreeClan's territory; he'd spent a lot of time with Lionsong there, it just brought a smile to his face every time he visited it, as if revisiting his memories at the same time. He'd have to remember to catch something nice to bring back for the pretty golden tabby she-cat, some plump mice perhaps? Or maybe even a squirrel, if he was lucky that was. Sandstrike gave a smile, blue gaze lightening at the thought of Lionsong. His mate. He'd have to get used to calling her that, his mate. He couldn't quite get over the fact that they were mates now; how on earth did a tom like him end up with a beautiful she-cat like Lionsong?
It then, naturally came as a surprise when the sandy-furred tom slipped into the Wildflower Clearing, clinging to the protection of a juniper bush to hide himself from possible prey, that he caught sight of Lionsong. The pretty golden tabby appeared to have cleared a circle in the snow that carpeted the clearing and was simply sitting there, as if waiting? A grin crept to the sandy-pelted tom's face, piercing blue gaze bright with warmth and affection for the beautiful she-cat, Is she waiting for me? The TreeClanner didn't contemplate the thought any further, instead shaking off his hunter's crouch and appearing from behind the cover of the juniper bush to bound over to the golden tabby warrior.
"Lionsong!" he meowed brightly when he reached the pretty she-cat's side, greeting her with an affectionate nuzzle, "I thought you were back at camp, I was going to try and bring back a squirrel for you,"he admitted the last part rather shyly, gaze briefly dropping to his paws. He let a rumbling purr lose, sitting himself down beside Lionsong, gazing into those beautiful bronze eyes of her, "Aren't you cold?" he asked, tilting his head a little to study her even closer, "I'm freezing!"

Lionsong
She saw him just as he found her and a powerful loving purr rumbled in her chest as she rose to her paws, carefully to greet him with a nuzzle to his cheek. His words tickled at her ear and her pelt flushed warm, the love she was carrying for him was threatening to bubble over, but she tried to keep it in check just a little longer.
The mention of the squirrel that Sandstrike had caught just for her, a she-cat pride bubbled up to join with her love. It was a very primal part of her that agreed with her heart, Sandstrike would be a perfect father, a cat that would care for her and her kits with everything he had. She just stood there for a moment before forming words to answer him.
"I wanted to talk with you about something important and wanted to do it a the perfect spot." She mused aloud, she licked down her chest fur before looking at him square in the eyes, an excited twitch of her tail for her soon to be long winded news.
"I agreed to be your mate because I enjoyed your company and I always felt better when I'm around you. However, I have come to realize something really important." Lionsong paused, which wasn't the best idea considering how her words were sounding, poor Sandstrike.
"I love you Sandstrike, with all my heart and then some, I am your mate because I love you not just like you." With a loud exhale, the golden she-cat nuzzled his neck softly, a bundle of emotion filling her up and pouring out along with her words.
And you will never know, just how beautiful you are to me, but maybe I'm just in love when you wake me up.

Sandstrike I’m on my way home, And I’m worn to the bone, And when my heart hits an all time low, There’s something shining through, I find the light in you… "I wanted to talk with you about something important and wanted to do it at the perfect spot."… "I agreed to be your mate because I enjoyed your company and I always felt better when I'm around you. However, I have come to realize something really important." Lionsong's words echoed in the sandy-pelted tom's mind for a moment and he stared at her quizzically. Important? His mind began to reel for a moment, what did she mean by something important. Was there something wrong? Had he done something wrong? His heart gave a little uncertain flicker. There was no denying the smile she bore and the excited twitch of the tail, but Sandstrike couldn’t help but fret, “Something important?” he echoed, his bright blue gaze meeting her soft bronze eyes, “Is everything okay? Is there something wrong?” he searched her gaze, concern pooling in his piercing blue eyes. Her next words, however, completely caught the sandy-pelted tom by surprise, "I love you Sandstrike, with all my heart and then some, I am your mate because I love you not just like you."Relief immediately swept over the pale ginger tom, replaced quickly by a sudden rush of emotions. The warmest of smiles crept to his face, his blue gaze flooding warmth and his heart giving a flip. ' I love you, with all my heart.' The thoughts floated around his mind for a moment, Sandstrike completely unable to believe such words had been aimed at him, Sandstrike, just an ordinary warrior compared to Lionsong. Whatever he’d done to deserve Lionsong; the beautiful, intelligent, amazing Lionsong, Sandstrike had no idea. Realising he’d left the golden tabby she-cat hanging on a silence, the sandy-pelted warrior gave a rumbling purr, love for the beautiful she-cat warming him from muzzle to tail-tip, “I... You…” he stumbled over his words a little, unsure of how to put into words this burning love he felt for her, “I… I love you too, Lionsong,” he pressed his pelt against hers, ”I always will and, I guess, in a way, I always have,” he murmured softly, nuzzling her cheek gently, “I just couldn’t see it before.”For a heartbeat, the world seemed to have frozen in time, it was just him and Lionsong, nothing else mattered. For a moment he let his gaze explore the bronze depths of the golden tabby she-cat’s eyes, they never ceased to amaze him. He studied Lionsong for a further moment, before touching his nose to her ear and whispering softly, a little concern in his blue gaze, “Are you sure you aren’t cold?”Tag: HellionWord Count:431-ish Notes: I'm so sorry for such a long wait. Lionsong
With her eyes going wide and her cheeks flushing with the warmth of their shared love, Lionsong purred and buried her nose into his neck fur and her purr grew louder. She did her best in memorizing the sound of those words on his tongue as she found even more comfort in his pelts. It was both scary and thrilling to know that he shared the same emotions for her, and was very excited to start their true mate-ship as loving mates instead of two cats that sought out companionship with each other. Flicking her golden tail back and forth, she sprang to her paws and licked his cheek gently.
As his words once again found her ears about the cold, a sudden shiver flew up her spin as she kneaded the ground with her paws. "Race you back to camp" She blurted out before turning sharply on her hind-paws and bolted towards camp, a cheerful laughing sound left her as she headed home.
And you will never know, just how beautiful you are to me, but maybe I'm just in love when you wake me up.
