Brown tabby paws pounced down onto the stones that met with the harsh ground at the base of the mountainside. There was a hint of frustration that followed as the owner of the growing paws kicked the grounded slightly before turning back to the cat who was calmly watching her fail a few tail lengths up the mountain. A frustrated hiss broke through the young she-cat's teeth before she sat down angrily, her emotions very evident in her bright green orbs that sat perfectly on her pretty little face.

"It's no fun if I don't get anything!" Her voice was sharp and edgy, but it held a beautiful tone to balance out the bad attitude that the brown tabby she-cat seemed to be growing day after day. It seemed that it was something that she had caught on to after spending most of her life with Shatani who still remained at her little resting spot atop a warm stone. A tai lash of frustration. Another hiss.

"Can't we do something else besides hunting stupid little mice?" Wasp asked as her fierce green eyes flashed brightly. She would never know, for she was too young to remember when it happened, where she got her beautiful green orbs from. Nor would she know her true name now that she went by Wasp. Three moons is awful young to change lifestyles so quickly, but it's so good for the other she-cat to keep Wasp right were she as needed.

"Well? Mother?" Wasp asked as she stood up, forming muscles rippled under her tight brown tabby pelt as she waited for Shatani to answer her. She was tired of her mother being cryptic and quiet all the time. She wanted a real anwser for once, not a riddle or a rhythm that Wasp had to think about to figure what her mom was up to.

Wasp was growing strong, Shatani made it her personal pet project to ensure this she-cat would grow up strong and powerful, everything that Zuma wasn't. It was a cruel twist of fate that her chosen son would change his mind, but it made the red tawny she-cat realize something. It wasn't her upbringing that was to be at fault, but his gender, toms were arrogant and thought too highly of themselves, it would take a clever she-cat like Shatani to bring them back down to size and she knew how, it started with Wasp.

Her narrowed eyes were targeting the she-kit, she was growing quickly and while most of she-cats that shared the same views as Shatani, had busied themselves with hunting, the self proclaimed mother of the this movement was the single teacher of the youths, Wasp a prime example.

With a deadly grace, Shatani rose up from her rock, carefully picking her down the rock face, the territory she claimed as her own was harsh and even in the season of leaf-fall, prey was scares and some of the members had to make hunting expeditions in search of plentiful prey. One good thing that came from living in such unforgiving territory was how hardy it made them, nothing could weaken them, they were Queens of the Mountains!

"Hush Darling, you must master the art of hunting first before you can learn to hunt your enemies. We do fight battles in hopes of surviving. We face every battle as if it was our last, we take no prisoners, we hunt and we kill." She spoke matter-of-factly, her eyes softening only for a moment.

"Remember, mother knows best, now try again. This time even out your stance, can't be unbalanced too far forward and you might stumble, too far back and you are putting to much strain and your leap won't be as powerful." Shatani made her comments quickly and flicked her tail back and forth as she remained standing, watching the little princess.

There was a strong defiance that circled inside the young she-kit's eyes as she watched her mother pad forwards with each drop of a word. Of course they impressionable fighter held onto each word that Shantani spoke in her cryptic tongue. Despite the fact that she was indeed young, she was smart and able to catch on quickly, and learn rather productively, especially when compared to the other she-cat's of her mother's pride.

She was far more talented than most of the she-cat's had ever seen. Quick on her paws when racing, always the first to dodge an oncoming attack and counterstrike with the blink of an eye. It was almost like all those hunter and fighter instincts had been bred into her, almost like she had come from a line of cats who were trained like that from a young age. Of course, Wasp believed that she was just better than everyone else, after all, mother treated her that way.

Shantani often bragged on the brown tabby kit, and of course, having an inflated ego from that didn't help the over-confidante Wasp any better. In time it would be likely that she would end up starting fights, or picking on weaker cats to prove that she was better, to stay in the spotlight of her mother's cruel eye.

Moving her dangerous emerald orbs over Shantani as she instructed Wasp on how to correctly hunt such quick and sly prey like the one that had just evaded her small paws. Of course, she waited until her mother had returned to her resting spot to try and perfect the crouching position that was just explained to her. As she was pulling herself forwards, slowly, paw by paw, her brightly colored eyes caught sight of a gray pelted mouse, relaxing on a rock near a hole. If she were to miss this time, that mouse would certainly disappear inside that crevice, never to be seen from again.

Creeping forwards, an idea suddenly sprang into Wasp's mind as she narrowed her eyes. Before her eyes, the mouse shifted into a small gray tomkit. Of course, why not use her hatred of toms, instilled into her mind by Shantani, to help her hunt. Her rasped tongue swept across her muzzle as she shifted forwards slightly, the tomkit coming closer and closer and he relaxed on the stone, attempting to get some warmth from the faint sun.

Just a little bit farther.... NOW! With a heave, the brown tabby she-cat launched herself forwards onto the tomkit, flattening him into the rock before sinking her fangs into it's throat, earning a faint squeak from the dying lifting her head, Wasp showed the dead mouse hanging from her jaws to Shantani before letting it drop to her paws. "I caught him." She purred dangerously. "I thought of a good idea to help me." Of course, more bragging should ensure after her wise idea and brilliant catch.

Pride was a sin but that didn't stop this Queen. Her chest puffed up as Wasp went forward, her posture fixed and intent clear. The tawny she-cat remained standing as her full attention was given to her young daughter. While it was true that Wasp wasn't born from her body but in fact stolen from TreeClan, the red queen didn't allow her captive to think she didn't belong. In fact Shatani was always sure that Wasp came out on top, it was all part of her plan, mold this she-cat into the ideal Warrior-Queen. Weakness was in the males of their species, they thought first with their gender rather then their brain, a fault she found in her son.

Her attention return to Wasp as she proudly displayed the dead mouse and deep within Shatani's throat a purred came out. "Well done." She praised loudly moving to stand beside the she-cat now, licking over her forehead in a rare physical praise. What is your brilliant idea?" She asked, head tilting just a little to the side to show her true interest.
