[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
The larger, mottled brown she-cat stood amongst some trees, her breathing heavy, body sagging slightly. Her muscles ached all the way across her body, the aftermath of her countless hours spent training. She was no longer an apprentice, having earned her warrior name, and yet... She didn't stop pushing herself. As an apprentice, she had had Hollowcry to push her further, faster than she might have done back then. Without him coming to fetch her for training everyday... Well the young she-cat had taken it upon herself to continue her own training. She couldn't stop. She needed to be the best that she could. And that would never be achieved by standing around camp all day. Earlier this morning, she had been on the dawn patrol for the Clan. Now she was taking some time for herself, for her training. It was true that Strawberryfrost's particular brand of training was very... Aggressive, and could be exceedingly hard on her body. Perhaps this was the reason she was so sturdily built for a she-cat. She wasn't particularly tall by any sense of the word. She was of average size in fact, having grown into an adult cat as her training had carried on. Her most impressive feature, however, was the strength that was etched into every muscle in her shoulders, back and haunches.
In that moment, exhaustion had begun to creep up on her. Her grey-green eyes were half-lidded as she panted, putting all her effort in remaining standing. Her paws throbbed, her claws aching from the swiping she'd been doing for StarClan knew how long. The damage she dealt was clear in the scratches and scores that littered the trunks of the nearby trees. Even gazing around at the havoc she had caused, there was only a single thought in her mind. I need to be better. Forcing her aching body to pull itself straight, Strawberryfrost began her forward advance once more, picking up speed so that she was bounding towards a tree. Hollowcry had once scolded her for her lack of grace. She had once relied too much on brute force, but he had been quick to correct her. Ever since that day, she'd spent time not only on her strength, but also on her balance and her fluidity. She wasn't the most graceful cat in NightClan, but she had gotten better, her efforts having finally begun to pay off.
With a powerful bunching of her muscles, Strawberryfrost leapt forward, kicking dirt up behind her. Her paws landed hard on the tree trunk as she used it to springboard herself off, changing course swiftly. But her tired body was drawing near to its limit. The push was slightly off, setting her trajectory for the next tree too far to one side. She missed the trunk, her body landing heavily on the ground. Her paws fought for footing, but one of the tree's roots was intent on tripping her, sending her staggering to the side before landing heavily on one shoulder. With a hiss of both pain and alarm, the NightClan she-cat skid to a stop, lying motionless amongst the territory. Her breathing was the only sound she could hear, and the throbbing of her shoulder was the only thing she felt. Surrendering to the ground, she decided not to move, sprawled on the hard ground, unable to gather herself to return to camp.
Somewhere at the back of her mind, she wondered if anyone would notice her missing. Did anyone really pay attention to her? Hollowcry was probably glad he no longer had to deal with her. Perhaps she should simply remain here. As it was now, the injured she-cat was not all that intent on moving.

Smokefur was out and about looking for herbs; she found it a good way to occupy her time. However as she had been collecting herbs since newleaf she didn’t really need anything in particular so she found it relaxing to just wander through the territory picking up anything she saw that she could use, and if she found nothing the long walk cleared her mind. However this time she did find something, however it wasn’t at all what she had set out for. It wasn’t a plant at all, in fact it was one of her clanmates collapsed in a secluded part of the forest. Rushing over she noticed the culprit to be a newly made warrior by the name of Strawberryfrost, Smokefur knew she was into intense training as did most of the clan and she suspected that was the cause of the situation she was seeing before her. “Strawberryfrost?” She mewed out in a concerned tone as she started to gently massage the she-cats shoulder to rouse her, “Are you okay dear?”

[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
A barely audible groan arose from the motionless she-cat as she felt paws begin to massage her shoulder. The mottled brown she-cat had been so lost in her own exhaustion that she hadn't heard the approaching paw steps of another cat, hadn't registered that there was a strange scent wafting over her. Had she been slightly more unlucky, the intruder would have been from another Clan, perhaps even from another species, intent on ending her life. As it were, however, the figure that had approached her was Smokefur, the NightClan medicine cat.
Taking a large amount of effort to simply raise her head, the NightClan warrior glanced over her shoulder, grey-green eyes half-lidded and glazed. She squinted for a moment, trying to decipher who it was that was so blissfully massaging her aching muscles. After a moment, Strawberryfrost's eyes flashed with a hint of recognition, before she allowed her head to flop back onto the ground with an audible grunt. "Smoke..fur?" A heavy sigh escaped her as she pretty much gave into Smokefur's talented paws, before remembering that the medicine cat had asked her a question.
"I... Mmmm...fine..." She mumbled, a rather pathetic attempt at answering the older she-cat. Her eyes were drifting closed, the larger framed she-cat finding it incredibly hard to stay awake now that such a relaxing treatment was being given to her overworked muscles. Squinting through the fog of exhaustion that was threatening to wrap her in its grips, the large she-cat forced out another awkward, mumbling sentence. "How... Do you... Mmmmm... Make it feel so... So goooooood?"
With one final sigh, the new warrior relaxed into the medicine cat's touch, partially awaiting an answer, partially attempting to ensure she didn't drift off to sleep on the poor medicine cat's paws.

As the medicine cat received responses that keyed her in on the understandable fact that Strawberryfrost was slightly delirious she couldn’t help but sigh. What had started out as a romp through the woods had left her with a rather large she-cat that needed to be in her den so she could take care of her, however without any hope of moving her on her own she would have to find help to transport the Strawberryfrost. Smokefur wanted nothing less however then to leave her alone, she was afraid something could happen as unlikely as it was. So she continued rubbing her muscles with slightly more pressure then before, whispering in her patients’ ear in a soft voice, “I have magic paws, now just relax and we will have you back on your paws in no time.” She was wishing more than anything that her words would be true, she massaged as best she could so Strawberryfrost could hopefully walk with Smokefur’s assistance.

Laughing softly at the comment about magic paws, the large NightClan she-cat would have replied to her medicine cat, had it not been for the sudden increased pressure of the massage on her shoulders. A purring sound rumbled from her, though it was barely audible, her vocal chords not exactly wanting anything to do with sound. Instead, the she-cat let the air about them fall to silence, relishing in Smokefur's massage.
She wasn't sure how much time stretched between them, or whether or not she stayed awake the entire time, but eventually, the mottled brown she-cat shifted, eyelids flashing open. Clearing her throat slightly, she managed to utter a complete sentence, though her voice was raspy, her exhaustion still clear. "Smokefur... I think we should go home." Slowly, the NightClan warrior rolled to her paws, though she found that trying to stretch one of her paws so that it could touch the ground created an intense, aching pain in her shoulder muscle. Giving in and keeping it well off the ground, Strawberryfrost made an awkward, lurching movement, trying to accommodate her muscular frame to enable walking on three paws. There was no way around it, she looked absolutely ridiculous with every motion she did, but at least there was no pain.
Jaws parting in a yawn, the newly named NightClan warrior fixated tired, grey-green eyes upon NightClan's medicine cat. Her ears tipped back slightly, as though she were embarrassed by what she was about to ask. Her tail was low, snaking back and forth slightly. She even found that her teeth were biting at her lip. She was so used to being a more... Gruff she-cat, one who didn't depend on anyone for anything, that even thinking of the question she would voice to Smokefur was enough to embarrass her. Finally, however, she managed to choke out, head low, eyes not meeting the medicine cat's.
"Can you... Help me back to camp..?"

Smokefur was glad that Strawberryfrost was taking the initiative to get back to camp herself, not at all because she didn’t plan on helping her all the way back, but because it meant it would only take the two of them to get her back. “I agree, let’s go home.” Smokefur replied as the warrior rolled onto her paws, attempting to start a three legged hobble all the way back to the Nightclan camp. Smokefur was surprised at the mew for help, she figured it was a given that she was going to support Strawberry for their journey so wordlessly she nodded and moved around to press herself against the she-cat just below her injured shoulder taking the weight of that side off the other three paws. “Let’s take this nice and slow alright?” She implored the she-cat, “We don’t want to rush this or we may not make it at all.”

[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
The large she-cat stayed motionless as Smokefur gave a silent nod, before moving around her, to stand by her... Sore (she refused to admit that she might have actually managed to injure herself) side. When Smokefur's fur brushed against hers, the medicine cat's shoulder leaning in just below the warrior's, to bare any weight that might shift that way, Strawberryfrost couldn't quell the embarrassment that ripped through her. She couldn't help but think herself rather pathetic, given that she couldn't make it back to camp on her own, simply because her muscles were tired and aching. Stifling a sigh and turning it to a grunt, Strawberryfrost nodded her head at Smokefur's suggestion.
"Right.. Nice and slow... You got it." Narrowing her eyes in concentration, the NightClan warrior shifted her weight, gingerly at first, onto Smokefur's shoulder. She was worried that she might hurt the medicine cat, seeing as she was quite a bit larger and heavier than the gray she-cat. How embarrassing would that be? Having to explain that you unintentionally hurt the medicine cat because you couldn't walk by yourself? Glancing worriedly in Smokefur's direction, Strawberryfrost shuffled her paws in an awkward lurching motion, tentatively using Smokefur's shoulder as another leg.
"Are.. Are you sure this is okay? I'm... I'm kind of heavy... I'm not hurting you, am I?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Today was really just not this mottled she-cat's day. Talk about a day she could only hope would soon be forgotten by both herself and the medicine cat who had been unlucky enough to stumble upon her. She felt guilty once more that she had managed to drag poor Smokefur into something that could only be labelled as Strawberryfrost's problem. Oh well.. Once we get back to camp, I'll just go lay down in my nest and get out of her fur... She thought to herself, waiting on the gray she-cat's response.

“Good.” Smokefur purred out as Strawberryfrost agreed it would be a nice leisurely trip back to camp, even if she wanted to go faster Smokefur wasn’t sure she would be able to. The larger she-cat’s weight wasn’t too much to handle, however it was enough to slow her down as she had no idea how well she could balance the cat nearly twice her weight. It seemed Strawberryfrost had realized the weight difference too and mewed out a concerned question wondering if she was hurting the grey medicine cat. A simple answer was given as they began to travel towards their camp, “No, I’m fine don’t you worry about me.” On they went through the territory at a snails pace and to keep any awkward silences from becoming part of the situation Smokefur mewed the question that had been on her mind since she stumbled up, “So tell me exactly what happened Strawberryfrost.”

[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
The large she-cat was relieved to hear the medicine cat reassure her that no harm was coming to her. Strawberryfrost gave a slight sigh, able to let relief was over her, relaxing slightly as she did so. With her mind put a little bit at ease, she instead focused her attention on her odd movement. Leaning on Smokefur's shoulder slightly, she was able to heave her working foreleg forward, to catch her weight as it began its shift to the front. It took a few tries to get used to, and although the pace remained slow, it became easier to move for the injured she-cat, her damaged leg held up off the ground.
She had been so caught up in her slight personal victory that she hadn't really noticed the silence that had crept over them, threatening to become awkward. Her ears pricked at the sound of Smokefur's voice, her green eyes blinking in surprise before she slowly looked in the smaller she-cat's direction. Upon hearing her question, however, Strawberryfrost's mottled brown ears tipped back to lay against her head. Glancing down in embarrassment at her one forepaw, she gave s light sigh, figuring that there was no point hiding it from a medicine cat.
"I... Well... I was practicing some stuff, and... One of my jumps was off, which set my whole trajectory off. I missed my target and hit the ground instead... It's not that big of a deal. I'm just... Sore from all my extra training, that's all." Even though she was trying to sound convincing, she knew she was failing. With every lurching step she took, and with every glimpse she caught of the memory of her fall, the realization began to sink in that... Maybe she wasn't fine. Maybe it wasn't just her muscles aching, telling her that she was tired.
... Maybe it was something more...

Smokefur nodded along as the larger she-cat explained the reasons for her injury, and the grey medicine cat did agree that it was probably all there was to it. While she had been massaging Strawberryfrost’s sore muscles she was also doing a thorough check for injuries and she knew two things, one her shoulder wasn’t dislocated and two she hadn’t broken any bones. Pulled muscles or perhaps even a fracture were still very possible but they weren’t near as serious an injury as the other ones so she felt safe in moving her at least to camp. “I am sure you are right, there didn’t seem to be any serious injuries I could feel to your shoulder or anywhere else for that matter.” It wasn’t too long before they were at the camps entrance and pushing their way through, Smokefur then started to lead Strawberryfrost to the medicine cat’s den so she could get her fixed up and was all too ready for the warrior in tow to resist and attempt to find her own nest.

[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
The mottled brown she-cat's ears had been tipped backwards almost sheepishly, hoping that the medicine cat would take her words as being true. She hated being in the medicine cat's den, hated not being able to do anything. She became far too bored, her body begging her to go out and do something for the Clan, when she was stuck in that place. When the gray medicine cat seemed to agree with her however, the large warrioress seemed to relax, thankful that even Smokefur seemed to think that there was likely nothing wrong with her at all. It was such a relief to the warrior that she even sighed.
As the camp came into view, Strawberryfrost was perfectly ready for Smokefur to drop her off at the warrior's den. She would remember to thank the gray she-cat for helping her all the way home. Her tail flicked behind her, off-green eyes already focused upon the warrior's den. Much to her surprise, however, NightClan's medicine cat was turning her away from the den in which she slept, instead trying to rope her into the medicine den, the single worse place in camp. ... Other than the nursery. Her head reared up slightly, her steps faltering as she tried to pull away from Smokefur.
"H-Hey! I'm fine really! You know... I'll just get myself over to the warrior's den. My shoulder's feeling a lot better already! Thanks for you help, Smokefur!" With that, the muscular she-cat pulled away from the gray she-cat, stretching her injured leg forward, feeling the stiffness that had set into it. As she tried to make her hurried getaway, it became apparent that for all her chatter, she was not as alright as she hoped she was. The moment her paw touched the ground, she felt pain lance downwards, beginning in her shoulder and tearing through her leg until her paw.
With a hiss, and a choked cry of pain, Strawberryfrost's leg buckled beneath her, causing her to stagger sideways. Her three good legs fought for a hold on the ground, begging herself to stay standing. The world seemed to be quite against her today, however, and without much more than a heartbeat of struggling, the large she-cat crashed to the ground, a dust cloud rising around her as she went down in a pile of flailing limbs. When the dust cleared, the mottled brown she-cat lay in a clump of fur, her injured leg tucked up to her chest as she lay in a tangle of her other legs.
With a groan, the she-cat lay there motionless, almost forgetting where she was and what had just happened. All she could really remember was that she hurt, and had no intention of getting up. Ow...

Smokefur wasn’t at all surprised when Strawberryfrost tried to break away and move towards the warrior’s den. She had seen this before, high speed low drag warriors that wanted nothing more then to stay working all the time never taking time off for an injury or anything else. Whether it be stubbornness tied to their pride, or even some sort feeling of worthlessness using up the clans herbs either way Smokefur would never understand it. So she let her patient go and without much shock she watched as she went down for a face plant right into the dirt of their camp. She wasn’t going to help her up, not at first at least, she was going to let her sit there with her injured leg and think about what she had done for a while. After a fair amount of time she poked her with a paw and asked in a stern voice, “Are you ready to come back to my den yet, or should I just leave you face down in the dirt?”

The fallen she-cat didn't even bother trying to move. She just lay there, in the dirt, a barely audible groan escaping her. She worried that if she tried to move, to stand herself up, she would only be greeted with more pain. Part of her expected the gray medicine cat to rush to her side, but for a good stretch of time, there was no aid. She was left to simply lie face first in the dirt. And a part of her didn't mind. It was, in some odd way, blissful, to simply collapse and not try to scrabble to her feet again.
Suddenly, a paw prodded her in the side, causing the large she-cat to flop over onto her non-injured side with another groan. Off-green eyes blinked once, before focusing on the figure of Smokefur standing beside her, looking a little cross, and quite a bit stern. Strawberryfrost's ears picked up on the sound of the medicine cat's voice, pricking forward intently before flicking backwards, knowing that she was being scolded. It didn't matter that she was no longer an apprentice. Smokefur could scold just about anyone she wanted, being a medicine cat. Staring down at the ground, the mottled brown she-cat couldn't bring herself to meet Smokefur's gaze as she mumbled out a reply.
"Yes, Smokefur..." Sounding very much like a kit who had just been scolded by her mother, the NightClan warrior began shifting, with great difficulty, attempting to roll herself to her paws with the least amount of pain possible. It was a difficult endeavour to accomplish, and in the end, the mottled she-cat was forced to glance over at the medicine cat, silently asking for help, which she could only hope the gray she-cat would be willing enough to give. She had certainly learnt her lesson today.
Don't mess with Smokefur.

Smokefur was pleased that she received a simple, “Yes, Smokefur…” from the warrior. It was always easier when they complied and she didn’t have to give them a reason to do exactly what she wanted. Punishing stubborn warriors was never fun for her and it seemed so out of character, however as she had learned from her mentor it was part of being a medicine cat. The tone, the gaze and even the punishments you doled out to disobedient warriors was all part of the training and she had learned from one of the best; if she hadn’t learned from the best there was no way she would be able to pull it off as it was so out of character for her. She watched the warrior roll around a bit and fail at getting to her paws; she wasn’t going to make a move to help until Strawberryfrost swallowed her pride and asked for help. It wasn’t long before the warrior did just that, Smokefur helped her to her paws and lead her into the medicine cat den and over to a nest for her to rest. “Stay.” She ordered in the same stern voice she had been using before walking off to find some herbs for her patient.

[smear:ff3300]Strawberryfrost[/smear:3399ff] ~~~~~~~~~
Grateful for the help she received, the NightClan warrioress did her best to struggle to her paws, hoping not to injure Smokefur. When finally the impossible seemed accomplished, and the large she-cat was once more stand on fou- errr... Three paws, Strawberryfrost gave a relieved sigh, quickly licking the fur on her chest flat. Swallowing her pride wasn't something that the mottled brown she-cat could exactly label as easy, given that she had trained under Hollowcry, who wanted nothing to do with anyone who wasn't the absolute best. Not to mention, she didn't want to be anything except the best.
When it came to Smokefur's stern voice, however, the large she-cat was able to find a way to extinguish the flame of pride that seemed to burn within her. She let herself be led, still doing her rather pathetic lurching steps, into the cool den that was known as the medicine cat's den. Her green eyes blinked rapidly against the darkness, the she-cat silently willing them to adjust so as to avoid the possible danger of performing yet another grand face-plant, because she couldn't see a thing in here. Suddenly realizing that she seemed to have performed her fair share of failures today, Strawberryfrost made a silent vow to not let it happen again. Ever.
When the gray she-cat left her near a nest, ordering that she remain there before disappearing into the depths of the medicine cat's den, the mottled gray warrior glanced around, wondering what she should do. Figuring that it would probably be easiest if she were lying down, the NightClan warrioress began to awkwardly shuffle and shift, trying her best to lower herself into the nest. Finally surrendering with a flop, Strawberryfrost let go a heavy sigh as pieces of the nest settled around her, having been scattered by her heavy frame and sudden movement.
