Shadowpaws' time as a medicine cat apprentice must have seemed like an eternity to the tom as Smokefur saw it. He had spent a majority of his life as her apprentice, how could it have felt any other way? Of course time was relative, and Smokefur couldn't believe that his appenticeship was already coming to an end. It seemed like only yesterday Shadowpaw had been a fluffy kit, and the elder medicine cat had wondered if he would ever outgrow that stage of his life. He had, and he had done it with grace. Shadowpaw was deft and mindful in his work, he was going to make an excellent medicine cat in his own right. Tonight would be Shadowpaws' last night as an apprentice, and he had no idea. Smokefur was excited to see the look on the young toms face, hopefully there would be uncertainty and discomfort there too. These things would indicate to Smokefur that she was pushing him as much as she possibly could, she wouldn't be doing him any favors if she didn't. Like so many times before Smokefur traveled to the moon tree with her warrior escort, the knowledge of what was soon to come adding an extra bounce to her step. Arriving without the usual fatigue that plagued her after such a long trip Smokefur was surprised to see that Nightclan was the first to arrive. Quickly picking her place Smokefur sat down and awaited the rest of the clans. Fawn

curiosity is not a sin... ...but we should exercise caution with our curiosity Shadowpaw Every season brought new challenges with it. For NightClan, it brought war right to the entrance of their den. The past two days for Shadowpaw and Smokefur had been dealing with a shocked Clan, and a severely wounded Pinestar. She would not die, Smokefur had assured him of that, but that did not stifle the sense of helplessness he felt knowing how much pain their Clan leader was in.
There wasn't much they could do about broken ribs, other than to keep her pain manageable. What a foolish kit he'd been, to think that herbs and poppy seeds - if put in the right combination - could fix anything. This was a silly lie to believe, but he had subconsciously thought it true until something like this threw reality back into his face. Sometimes medicine cats had to stand back and have faith. Herbs could only do so much.
Smokefur seemed to have twice as much energy as he did, and Shadowpaw had to pick up his feet more than once, hastening to keep up with his mentor. Where does she get her strength? Thought Shadowpaw with an affectionate blink in Smokefur's direction. "How do we react to Falconstorm?" He asked once they had arrived.
Medicine cats were neutral when it came to Clan hostilities and battles, yet Shadowpaw felt pride for his Clan. Proud, and protective. It was hardly Falconstorm's fault that TreeClan had attacked them - yet Shadowpaw couldn't pretend he wasn't displeased with the tom. Should they be cold to him? Not unkind, just cold. Curt.
I don't think I can pretend that everything's fine. Shadowpaw mused. Yet our business is our business. Foxfern and Pinestar wouldn't be pleased with them if they tipped off the other medicine cats to NightClan's difficulties with TreeClan, or vice versa. Suppressing the urge to sigh, Shadowpaw took deep, slow breaths of the crisp leaf-fall air, letting it chase away thoughts of inter-Clan politics.

So much time had passed in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Now as he walked alongside Dawnblossom, Sandpaw stood taller than his Mentor. He'd finally reached his adult height and - though he still stumbled a bit; unused to his new height - things were finally beginning to settle in his life. His training was complete at long last and he knew from the warm smile Dawnblossom gave him that she was just as proud of him as everyone else that had seen him struggle was. He'd come into himself and done much growing up since last his path crossed the other medicine cats. He felt...different somehow and yet just the same as he'd always been at the same time. It was confusing but it made sense to him. Dawnblossom moved ahead of her Apprentice and noted that StoneClan had arrived just after NightClan. She inclined her head respectfully towards Smokefur and young Shadowpaw. It wouldn't be long for that young tom either, if he was anything like Sandpaw. Sandpaw spotted his friend and grinned broadly; purring in delight. "Shadowpaw hey! Long time no see, how have you been?" His tail was up and friendly, his tone warm and open. This was how Sandpaw was and he saw no reason to ever change it. He cleared his throat a moment later and subdued his excitement, offering a polite nod to Smokefur as his Mentor had done. Still, he was happy to see his friend. -- OOC: Dawnblossom NPC used with permission to get things moving. BlooRey DVD Hellion williams Justice @poptart Fawn

The LightningClan medicine moved with a little more bounce to her step than she had in the moons directly following the fire. Thanks to Falconstorm's generosity, the ginger and white healer feared less for her Clan's survival, and had even managed to successfully sleep through several nights. Although the pads on one of her hind paws were still healing since she'd unintentionally trampled a pile of burning embers, she noticed the pain less now that her heart was no longer as weighed down by worry. The only lingering sign of anything amiss was the fractional shortening of her stride whenever her right hind paw touched the ground.
A ginger pointed ear flicked at the sound of paw steps closing in around her, and Kindleflare glanced to her left in time to see Harestrike properly fall into step beside her. On her other side, the bob-tailed form of Wolfstride remained a little ahead, ear alert for any signs of danger. Offering Harestrike a kind smile, the ginger healer couldn't help but wonder how his mate troubles were going. She'd meant to approach him about it again, to check where his mind was at these days, but so much had occurred in such a small time frame that she'd gotten lost in it all.
Silently making note to rectify this in the near future, Kindleflare turned her attention back to the path ahead. Their journey was nearing its end, her dark amber eyes catching sight of the gathered forms of whom she thought were StoneClan and NightClan's medicine cats. Before long, she thanked her travel companions for their presence, leaving them to settle more comfortably and await her return. Steadying her stride a little (she was, after all, under the watchful gaze of other experienced healers now), LightningClan's healer approached the small gathering with a timid but friendly smile.
"G-Greetings, Dawnblossom. Smokefur." She nodded her head to each in turn, before shifting her attention to the two younger toms. With an affectionate glint in her eyes, she briefly examined them both before laughing softly. "My, have you b-both grown! Pleasure t-to see you both-th again Shadowpaw and Sandpaw." Lowering herself into a comfortable sit, the ginger and white tabby turned an ear away from the group, keeping an ear out for the other medicine cats.
She couldn't help the small pang of anxiety she felt as her mind drifted toward RainClan and their formerly-exiled healer. |

[smear:ffffff]Swanfeather[/smear:343B4F] I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life worth living 75 Moons || Medicine Cat of RainClan || She-Cat Swanfeather stood outside of her den as the light began to fade. It was almost time to leave for the meeting. She had encouarged Dewpaw to eat a filling meal before the two set out. Earlier in the day Swanfeather had asked Birdsong and Whiteash to join them in the journey. The two capable warriors agreed and were waiting outside the den along side Swanfeather.
Once Dewpaw joined them, the she-cat flicked her tail to pause the warrior who had started to walk. "Go ahead and wait outside the camp, I need to talk with Dewpaw," She told them in which they nodded in reply.
Watching them leave, Swanfeather focused her attention on Dewpaw. "This will be the most important meeting of your entire life. You are being presented as my successor and the opinion the other medicine cats have of you will be started and shaped by tonight," Swanfeather began, her tail curling slightly at the tip. A clear seriousness to her tone.
"You need to be polite and respectful. You are representing RainClan at this meeting and I will expect nothing less then the best from you," She added before looking upward to the sky, the Halfmoon was clearly visible and for a moment Swanfeather wondered if StarClan would speak to her. But the thought wasn't allowed to linger as Swanfeather returned to looking at Dewpaw.
"You will also meet StarClan for the first time tonight. Remember what you see and hear isn't meant to be talked about after. Unless of course, you receive some sort of prophecy in which case I would suggest you talk to me about it. Any message from StarClan is an important message,"Swanfeather explained before tilting her head toward the camp entrance as a signal for them to head out.
Reuniting with the two warriors, Swanfeather gave another signal for them to keep walking. Whiteash walked just half a tail length ahead of Swanfeather, Birdsong walking behind Dewpaw. While the threat of attack was slim, Swanfeather kept her ears perked forward and prepared for any of Dewpaw's questions. While she did reply at first, Swanfeather gradually stopped answer them in favor of Dewpaw getting the first-hand experience.
Arriving at the entrance to Moon Tree Swanfeather watched as Birdsong and Whiteash made their way over to relax together. The older medicine cat paused just before meeting up with the group to give Dewpaw quick introductions. "That is Smokefur and her apprentice Shadowpaw. Over there is Dawnblossom and her apprentice Sandpaw. Further, that way is Kindleflare. Falconstorm is from TreeClan but he hasn't arrived yet,"Swanfeather gestured to each cat and gave their names in polite whispers before clearing her throat to get the attention of the other cats. She joined them with a polite nod of greeting before directing Dewpaw to sit next to her with a flick of her tail. "Hello everyone, I'd like you all to meet Dewpaw my apprentice,"Her tone was respectful and void of any friendliness.

dewpaw, Tonight was the night! Dewpaw had only heard passing stories of the medicine cat's meeting. They gathered together to share with Starclan and examine what their ancestors were telling them. At first, Dewpaw thought she would have to stay behind. She was barely into her apprenticeship, could she make the journey? Swanfeather seemed to think so, and excitement (and a full meal) led energy to her paws.
She listened patiently to Swanfeather's words, nodding at the seriousness of it all. "Will they like me?" Had been her first question. "What if Starclan doesn't like me? What if the other apprentices think I look silly?" She had wanted to pause then, to clean her fur ruffled by the breeze but a sharp word from Swanfeather dissuaded her. So on they went, Dewpaw refused to let herself get left behind. If Swanfeather could make this journey, so could she!
As they traveled, Dewpaw let all her questions from the past couple days spill out. Sometimes a warrior answered them, such as the ones about the other clans and their ways of life. "Do they all really hate eating fish? Why do they smell so different? Does their territories have familiar things too, like our river?" Some questions were better answered by Swanfeather, "Do we touch the tree to dream? How do I know it's not a regular dream?" At first all questions were answered willingly, but soon the replies petered off. Maybe they're tired too. Dewpaw decided, keeping the rest of her questions for later. Their journey led them across lands that were previously only stories, told by her mother or caught from stories shared by the warriors returning from patrols. It was a long way to go, the small apprentice thought, her paws beginning to ache.
"Are we close?" She whiskered to Birdsong, receiving a nod as confirmation. Then, there they were. The tree was taller than anything Dewpaw had seen before. Her head tilted back, threatening to over balance her. Her stance widen, excitement fluffing up her fur. She was here! I have to tell Fernpaw about how big it is! She thought, And momma too!
The pair said a brief ferewell to their protectors, then Dewpaw was drawn in close to Swanfeather for introductions. "That is Smokefur and her apprentice Shadowpaw. Over there is Dawnblossom and her apprentice Sandpaw. Further, that way is Kindleflare. Falconstorm is from TreeClan but he hasn't arrived yet," Dewpaw listened intently, frowning in concentration. The smells of each clan made her mind spin. She had gotten too used to her own clan's scent! How would she remember all of them, and their names?
"Hello everyone, I'd like you all to meet Dewpaw my apprentice." She licked her chest fur out of nervousness, finally being introduced. "It's nice to meet you all." Dewpaw said, finding her strength and courage again.

So much had changed since the last time he'd taken this trek. His thoughts were far away, his paws carrying him towards Moon Tree out of memory alone. The cats he'd chosen to come with him chatted amongst themselves, he chose to ignore them. His tenure as a medicine cat had certainly been an eventful one so far, and it made him wonder why it was he was constantly being tested by StarClan. His apprenticeship found itself through a greencough epidemic, and he'd come into himself as a full medicine cat with Bluejay's death and the territory catching ablaze. So much in so short a time. What was he being tested for? Devotion to his cause? How long they could push him before he simply had a come apart? Because he'd already had that and come back from it. Or was this constant punishing testing because he was still courting Herondive in secret? He sighed, drawing his attention back to the present as he drew closer to Moon Tree. He bid his escort goodbye before heading towards the gaggle of cats that shared his calling. He came in just as Swanfeather was introducing her apprentice, and dipped his head at the tiny she-cat. "Hello everyone." He offered softly, looking at the gathering of cats around him and noting how much it had changed from his first meeting with the medicine cats. Ottersplash was gone, so were Rookfrost and Bluejay. There was a change going on within the clans, the older medicine cats were training apprentices to replace them, and younger ones like himself were finding their paws in this calling. How much would change by this time next year? Would he have an apprentice of his own by then? Would Dawnblossom, Smokefur, and Swanfeather still be among their ranks? Or would they all have witnessed a near complete changing of the medicine cats? It bothered him, but then that was the way of things. Time went on, new ones were trained up so the old ones could retire or as they passed on to StarClan. Bad things happened, but he had to acknowledge that good things happened too. Falconstorm shook himself, pulling his thoughts out of melancholy as he noted finally that everyone had arrived. His clan was furthest away from Moon Tree, so he was almost always the last to arrive. He addressed the one cat that was experiencing Moon Tree for the first time. "I remember the first time I came here as an apprentice. You never forget it, and may this experience be a good one for you, Dewpaw." Of course he'd already been grown, but he wasn't saying that. "You are in good company." ----------------------------------- @poptart BlooRey DVD Fawn williams Silver Hellion Notes : This post is a bit blah, sorry about that.

The reactions the two Nightclan medicine cats received from the other arriving cats were all polite, however some were more distant than others. This was to be expected from the present company, Smokefur would never expect Swanfeather to act with as much interest as Kindleflare for example. Rainclan was the only one to pique Smokefurs' interest and she found herself studying Swanfeathers newest apprentice. After letting the other medicine cats' interact with their newest peer for a few moments Smokefur called attention to herself in a confident tone, "Well, Dewpaw, your first meeting happens to be quite a special one!" Of course she could have waited for Swanfeather to administer Dewpaws' oath, however Nightclans' medicine cat was practically bursting at the seams. "Shadowpaw has performed admirably, and his extensive growth is clearly apparent." Pausing for a moment she turned to her apprentice and searched his eyes for what she could only hope was excitement. "I, Smokefur, medicine cat of Nightclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help he will serve his Clan for many moons. Shadowpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" Smokefur didn't need to wait long to hear the 'I do' she expected. "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Shadowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Shadowchaser. StarClan honors your dedication, skill and compassion. We welcome you as a full medicine cat of Nightclan."Fawn

Shadowchaser & Dawnblossom Shadowpaw privately hoarded Smokefur's praise like a dragon with a treasure pile, smiling at his paws as she spoke highly of him to the group. The expression fell away to shock, however, his posture straightening with a slight lift of his tail-fur as Smokefur began a ceremony. His ceremony.
Great StarClan, so soon? What if he wasn't ready? Didn't he have so much still to learn? A thousand conflicting thoughts darted through Shadowpaw's mind like butterflies, chasing each other and avoiding any of his attempts to subdue them. Those ancient words washed over him, falling from Smokefur's silver muzzle as if she'd been waiting her whole life to say them.
Shadowpaw had been waiting his whole life to hear them.
"Shadowpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do!" He pledged. Though his fur didn't quite lie as flat as he liked and the roundness of his gaze gave away his excitement and uncertainty, Shadowpaw felt deeply that he could honor the ways of their Code. This is who I am meant to be. Shadowpaw knew he still had much to learn, but that did not quell the rising excitement he felt over reaching this next stage of his life.
I want to know more. I want to help. I want to take care of the Clan that's taken care of me. Shadowpaw softly drew in a breath and held it in his chest, gathered there like hope, as Smokefur announced his new name under the glow of the Moon Tree.
Shadowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Shadowchaser. StarClan honors your dedication, skill and compassion. We welcome you as a full medicine cat of NightClan."
Shadowchaser licked Smokefur's shoulder as she leaned her muzzle on top of his head, the ceremony now complete. "Thank you for everything," he whispered so only she could hear. "I won't fail you, Smokefur." He owed her so much; the last thing Shadowchaser would ever want was to disappoint the silver-furred medicine cat. It felt strange, now, to think that they were equals.
As their star-blessed peers began to cheer his name, Shadowchaser greeted this new page of his life with a frantic, joyful heart, though it stumbled and buckled over a bout of nerves every few moments. I'm a full medicine cat before Sandpaw? He hadn't expected that. "Thank you, everyone." Shadowchaser nodded respectfully to each cat that spoke his new name, and he smiled encouragingly to Dewpaw. Smokefur hadn't been wrong. This was an exciting first meeting.
"Well done, Shadowchaser." mewed Dawnblossom kindly, stepping up next. "I too have a ceremony to perform."
The dark-furred tom shared a warm, approving smile with Sandpaw. He deserves to be a medicine cat even more than I do, he's been training longer. Shadowchaser took a seat beside his mentor, gently letting the earth-toned fur on his shoulder brush against Smokefur's.
"I, Dawnblossom, medicine cat of StoneClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help he will serve his Clan for many moons. Sandpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"
The tortoiseshell she-cat waited for her apprentice's answer, confident that he would give the correct one - and confident that this ceremony was well-deserved.
She was right on both counts.
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Sandpaw, from this moment you will be known as Sandblaze. StarClan honors your committment, your faith, and the strength of your spirit. We welcome you as a full medicine cat of StoneClan."
Dawnblossom moved in to complete the ceremony, and Shadowchaser was one of the first of the assembled cats to greet Sandblaze by his new name. ---- Words: 681 Words Tags: Silver , BlooRey DVD , Hellion , williams , Justice , @poptart

Sandpaw raised his tail excitedly as he watched the ceremony for a cat that had become his dearest friend. He was proud of Shadowpaw - Shadowchaser now - and rose his voice with everyone else to congratulate him. Then green eyes went wide when Dawnblossom turned to him and began his ceremony. He answered as he was supposed to and rose himself up to his full height after it was done in a proud stance. He couldn't believe he'd made it through! Now if only he could make sense of the dreams StarClan had been sending him. Maybe the dreaming this time would shed some light onto things. He could hope for some clarification, at least. In the meantime the newly named Sandblaze nuzzled with his Mentor and smiled happily to those that congratulated him. His mother was going to be so proud and he found he couldn't wait to tell her all about this and his new name. It bothered him to be so named after something that still frightened him, but StarClan always knew what it was doing and the reason behind his name would make itself clear very soon he was sure. In the meantime, he would trust StarClan knew what it was doing and continue walking his path with patience and confidence. -- OOC: Sorry for the wait. She couldn't help her sense of unease as the RainClan medicine cat appeared on the horizon. Though the sentiment was tempered fractionally as she registered a new face in the gathering crowd, it remained in the back of her head forcing the ginger and white she-cat to consciously still her nervous tail. Still, as Swanfeather introduced the small she-cat as Dewpaw, the LightningClan healer found it within her to dip her head and smile. "G-Greetings, D-Dewpaw." She mewed softly, her ear tip flicking nervously at the shakiness of her voice.
Falconstorm's arrival stilled some of her nerves, grateful to see a familiar face, especially one who'd been so kind to LightningClan's strife in recent moons. With a warm smile toward the TreeClan medicine cat, Kindleflare's shoulders relaxed. His words to Dewpaw were just as welcoming as she'd expect from a cat with a heart as warm as Falconstorm's, and she couldn't help the small purr in her throat. Dark amber eyes shifted away from the pale coated healer when Smokefur spoke up. The ginger and white she-cat's ears snapped up shortly thereafter as Kindleflare really registered just what it was that was happening. Her purr increased twofold and she smiled brilliantly to young Shadowpaw.
He w-won't be Shadowpaw for l-long! She thought to herself, her tail weaving excitedly behind her. Her weight shifted forward, anticipation causing her to lean forward ever so slightly as she awaited Smokefur's decision on a new name. The moment it was revealed, Kindleflare purred a gentle "Cong-gratulations, Shadowchaser!". Excitement buzzed in her paws, and it only escalated as Dawnblossom announced her own ceremony. Still purring, Kindleflare's warm gaze immediately flicked toward Sandpaw as she offered him the same congratulatory smile. Listening patiently to Dawnblossom as the StoneClan healer spoke familiar words, Kindleflare's heart leapt for the two spotlighted toms.
Although Shadowchaser beat her to it, Kindleflare was quick to slide in her own call of "W-Well done, S-Sandblaze!".
As Sandblaze touched noses with his mentor, Kindleflare shifted to touch her tail to Shadowchaser's flank, nodding her head to him when she got his attention. "M-Much deserved, Sh-Shadowchaser. Smokefur's p-pride is evident, a-and LightningClan w-welcomes y-you to the r-ranks of medicine c-cats." With her piece said, she shifted her attention to Sandblaze and repeated the touch to his flank. As the young tom met her gaze, she smiled at him and steadied her voice. "M-Many congratulations, S-Sandblaze. Dawnb-blossom's confidence in y-you speaks v-volumes. W-Welcome to the ranks of m-medicine cats." She purred, before falling silent to allow others a turn, careful of her sore paw. |

It seemed that time had flown by quickly and suddeninly Swanfeather felt older then ever before. She joined with the others but only repeated each of their new names twice before falling silent again. Letting the crowd praise and over words of congateulations to each new medicine cat, Swanfeather flicked her tail to alert the others she wanted their attention.
She rose up and gestured for Dewpaw to do the same. "It is time for Dewpaw's ceremony," She told the others as her blue eyes settled on Dewpaw.
"Dewpaw, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?" Swanfeather paused in the ceremony to give Dewpaw a chance to answer before carrying on.
"Ancestors in StarClan, I present to you Dewpaw. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant Dewpaw your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will," She pressed her nose to Dewpaw's forehead. "When you dream tonight you will meet them," She told her before stepping back to wait for the dreaming to start.

dewpaw, Introductions were given, and Dewpaw replied to all she could with her high excited voice, tail wagging in greeting. Once the initial worry had worn off, she was thrilled to be there. These cats knew so much and she was going to become their friends for her whole life. Body tingling with excitement, she soaked up the advice given by the last cat to arrive. "I remember the first time I came here as an apprentice. You never forget it, and may this experience be a good one for you, Dewpaw." His well wishes immediately came true as the grey tabby she-cat- Smokefur I think? from Nightclan stepped forward, her voice rising to the stars above them. Ceremonies? She thought with a tilt of her head, opening her mouth to ask Swanfeather what was happening. The older she-cat did not notice, wrapped up in her own thoughts, so Dewpaw kept her attention on the ceremony. Oh! They're both becoming full medicine cats! Her voice raised high to celebrate their new names in hope that all of Starclan would know they gained two important voices.
Then it was her turn. "Me?" She squeaked, fur fluffing with even more excitement. She never felt so young compared to the cats around her. They knew so much, and she knew so little. Two had even graduated, how would she ever catch up? I don't need to catch up, Dewpaw decided suddenly. I just have to make Rainclan great.
"Dewpaw, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?"
"I do!" Her response was as serious as the first time she was asked by Swanfeather, blue eyes meeting blue eyes. The young she-cat would not let her mentor down.
"Ancestors in StarClan, I present to you Dewpaw. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant Dewpaw your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will," Dewpaw leaned up to meet her mentor's touch, finding her voice again to let out a loud purr of joy. She was a medicine cat apprentice in front of Starclan now!. "When you dream tonight you will meet them."
At her mentor's final words, the cats gathered around the tree, settling down to the ground in little spirals. Dewpaw copied, paws still tingling with excitement as she tucked them neatly under herself. She closed her eyes, and immediately drifted off.
Her eyes opened to white, swirling around with such a force that the young she-cat didn't dare try to walk. It was comforting, not cold as she expected when her eyes opened, but the stark brightness stunned her after the cool evening tones she had fallen asleep in. Although the white itself was comforting, Dewpaw felt jostled, like something kept rushing by her but didn't correct its path. Did it know she was there? Dewpaw let out a chirp, pleased to note that though the wind was strong, her voice was clear in its depth. "Hello? Hello Starclan?" She called, turning her ears around to catch every sound that echoed through the currents. Her voice echoed back at her, a deeper quality to it. "Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello" "Hello!" Dewpaw cried louder, finding her paws itching, telling her to step through the drifts. She bounded forward, her height a disadvantage. Now chasing the hello that filled the air, Dewpaw turned her head all around to catch the source. It swirled around her though, unable to be found. Was it lost? She thought. Am I lost? Is this Starclan? The young seal pointed cat stopped, catching her breath that billowed out like a pool of water. Another cloud met her vision, blue eyes turning to find where it came from. A figure appeared from the mists, a smile on his features, making his two-toned eyes crinkle with joy. She saw his mouth move, words lost to her ears, before she found her eyes flickering open.
