Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANThe apprentices' den was uncomfortably empty.
Berrypaw and Sparrowpaw were in Falconstorm's den, recovering. Finchpaw and Duskpaw were on patrol, Thornpaw was probably out training with Lionstar. And as for all the other apprentices... They're all sick. All of them. Oh StarClan, I miss Amberpaw and Aspenpaw so much. Fawnpaw's heart ached as she looked around the empty, hollowed out portion of TreeClan's camp reserved for 'paws like her.
Being an apprentice was exciting and a lot of hard work, but Fawnpaw didn't know how much she wanted to be an apprentice if her siblings couldn't be there with her. Fawnpaw's delicate paws picked at her bedding, ears losing some of their perkiness now that the loneliness was starting to fully press in. I miss them. Trying to find some kind of comfort despite their absence, Fawnpaw gingerly went to Amberpaw's bed, and then Aspenpaw's bed, plucking a little bit of moss from each as she went, and brought them back to her nest. She settled down immediately after, and pressed her nose to the new additions to her bed, inhaling deeply.
The scent of family welled up like a river in a rainstorm, and Fawnpaw couldn't suppress a little whimper of fear. What if she never saw them again? What if they never came home? The apprentice shook in her nest, and nearly went to go find her mother, wanting to hide her face in Moonfeather's silky fur until those horrifying prospects faded from recent memory. Be strong, Fawnpaw! Just be strong... But even her internal voice of self-encouragement sounded weak, and worried. As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 263 Words ❋ BlooRey DVD ❋ Notes

SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan The tabby apprentice lacked a bounce to his step, something that was unusual for the tom. Though his brother had returned from the quarantine zone, the sickness still held TreeClan tightly in its grip. Thornpaw had no idea what condition his father was in, and Lionstar himself had gone to the quarantine zone earlier today as he began showing signs of illness. There were so many cats falling ill... He couldn't help but feel worry bubbling in his chest. Not to mention, Amberpaw and Aspenpaw were still sick. He found himself concerned for both of them, as well as their sister Fawnpaw.
Padding across the camp following a border patrol with Swandive and Redblaze, Silentsong's son was headed to the freshkill pile for a meal when his thoughts planted themselves back on Fawnpaw. His paws automatically changed direction, taking him toward the apprentice's den to see if the creamy she-cat was in there. He slowed as the den entrance opened up before him, ducking into the hollowed out portion of the tree. As his amber eyes adjusted to the new lighting, they landed upon the figure of his friend, curled up tightly in her nest.
Concern flickered over his features, ears pressing forward as he blinked. He could sense her sorrow even from here, and immediately he knew this sickness was taking its toll on Fawnpaw, though she herself wasn't sick. I have to do something. Came his thoughts, determination painting every word. With a quiet inhale, he pulled his features into an easy grin, closing the distance between them and...
Flopping down on top of her, long limbs sprawling in every direction as he drawled out. "Faaaaaaawnpaw~ Whatcha doing all cooped up in here! It's a beautiful day, and such an absolutely wonderific day should be spent outside, silly dove!" BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~300 words Fawn Anything for Fawnpaw ahah

Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANIf Thornpaw was trying to squish the negative thoughts right out of her head and heart, he was giving it a good effort. Fawnpaw hissed in surprise, but any irritation she'd felt towards her denmate evaporated, and she wriggled out from under the heavy tabby. "If I'm a silly dove then you're a fat frog, you nearly crushed me!" Despite the accusatory tone, Fawnpaw's eyes were bright - a little extra watery, but brighter than they'd been - and she looked better for the company.
These good moods came in little bursts, and when they faded, she was left feeling more tired and sullen than ever before. Wanting to break the start of an unpleasant cycle, Fawnpaw tried to smile at her friend, but the expression didn't fully reach her eyes. "Sorry, I'm not really in the mood to play, Thornpaw. I'm... worried about Amberpaw and Aspenpaw."
If she could just find out how they were doing, if they were getting better, maybe she could endure the wait a little easier? Maybe she could sleep, and not be frightened of waking up to terrible news, or her mother in mourning. Fawnpaw went to the edge of the hollow, gazing in the direction of the hidden thicket. "I wish I could do something. Anything." With a sudden stab of misery, the thin-furred she-cat wrapped her tail around her paws. "Doesn't this frighten you, Thornpaw? Your father being over there?"
How could he stay so positive and playful, in spite of everything? He was braver than she, that was for sure. As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 258 Words ❋ BlooRey DVD ❋ Notes

SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan As Fawnpaw wriggled out from underneath him, the tabby apprentice remained stretched out in her nest, extravagant tail flicking at its tip. Her retort had him grinning widely with a rumbling "Ribbit ribbit." He watched her carefully despite his lazy outer-appearance, and he was quick to note the missing pieces of her smile. His heart squeezed for her, watching as she turned away from him to sit in the entrance of the hollow. His grin faltered then, ears tipping to the side as he listened to her saddened tone. Amber eyes drifted over her frame, taking in her almost... Defeated posture.
Rising from the confines of her nest and shaking off some of the moss clinging to his thick pelt, Thornpaw closed the distance between them once more. He was a big apprentice, and it was a tight squeeze, but he somehow still managed to weasel himself next to her. He was forced to duck his head slightly so that he could sit with her, but he could tell she was missing the comfort of her siblings. Letting his pelt press against hers, he nudged her shoulder with his own. "Yeah, it is all a little bit scary." He confided.
"But I know my Pa. And I know Aspenpaw and Amberpaw. They're strong, all of them. And they're not gonna give up just because some sickness is running rampant. Just like I know you wouldn't have if you were in their pawsteps." He stopped a moment, eyes flicking to the sky above them. It was bright and blue right now, and though he couldn't see the stars just then, he knew they were there. "You know, Ma always used to leave the nursery at night, just before bed time. I followed her one day, peeked outside to see where she was."
His eyes didn't drop from the sky, and a gentler smile replaced his grin. "I found her sitting outside, staring up at the sky. I asked Pappa what she was doing one day, and he said she was talking to her pappa." Sweeping his tail so that it wrapped around her too, he finished gently. "Feathercloud and Gorsetail have told us 'bout StarClan before, remember? I bet if, before bed time, you went out and looked to them, asked them to carry your message to Amberpaw and Aspenpaw... Then your siblings'll know how much you care. They'll know that you're on their side every step of the way, and that they should come back real soon, so we can all be together again." Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANFawnpaw listened attentively to Thornpaw's story, her drooped ears pulled forward by mention of his mother's unusual behavior. The explanation put a feeling of awe in the kitten's breast. "Could StarClan really do that?" Would they carry a message for her, even if she didn't have any Clan relatives up there? If some of those StarClan cats used to be TreeClan cats, then I bet they will.
If StarClan had cats like Gorsetail and Silentsong and Lionstar in their ranks, then Fawnpaw felt like her messages were in safe paws. The kitten appreciatively bumped her shoulder against Thornpaw's. "Thanks, Thornpaw. Maybe tonight, we can go out and give our messages to StarClan."
Fawnpaw wasn't fully satisfied with relying on well wishes to see her siblings through, however. The soft blue-gray points of her face seemed to lighten from the spark of an idea in the she-cat's bright green eyes. "We can do something in the meantime, though. Let's ask Skyfall if we can go hunting. If we stay in the wildflower meadow, I don't see why they wouldn't let us."
Every apprentice had been given a lecture about Demon. About the dangers of wandering off by one's self. Having a Clanmate with you was preferred; having several was considered ideal. She knew apprentices weren't really supposed to go off by themselves, but she also knew how small the patrols were right now. Everyone was so busy trying to guard the borders and hunt for the Clan, Fawnpaw felt strange just... sitting back on her haunches with nothing to do except miss her family.
"We should bring some food to the sparkling brook, so any sick cats that are there can have something to eat." It was a good plan, and it put some of the cheer back into Fawnpaw's heart. Trusting in Thornpaw to be her stalwart accomplice, Fawnpaw stood up, aware of how much taller he was than she, and did her best to look him in the eyes - part pleading him to agree, part daring him to refuse. SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan There she is. He thought to himself triumphantly, seeing some life return to Fawnpaw's expression. Good to have you back, Fawnpaw. Without a word, he rose to his paws after her, ducking out of the entrance to give himself a little more room to breathe. He'd have sat there with her for hours, if that was what she'd needed, but StarClan was he glad to see her a little closer to her normal self and wanting to go do something else. He wasn't the smallest of apprentices, and sitting hunched like that wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing he'd ever done.
For a moment, the softer smile remained on his features. "I'd be honored to talk to StarClan with you tonight!" He mrrowed, before that easy grin slipped back. Waving his tail excitedly, Thornpaw dropped into a playful crouch. "Bet I can catch more prey than you~" He growled, a daring glint in his eye. Before she could fire back a retort, the tabby tom sprung to his paws. "Last one to Skyfall is a slow slug!" He called over his shoulder as he streaked away. 'Slow slug' happened to be one of his favorite expressions at the moment. He wasn't sure where she'd gotten it from, but he'd heard Feathercloud use it a pawful of times.
The white acting-deputy was standing alone, a group of warriors having recently departed from his presence. He looked just about ready to leap out of his fur, seeing two apprentices pelting across camp straight for him. His mismatched eyes widened fractionally and he stepped back, just barely managing to get out of the way before Thornpaw skidded to a halt at his paws. "What in the name of StarClan..." Before Skyfall could get more of his question spoken, Thornpaw leapt back to his paws.
"Skyfall! Fawnpaw and I were wonderin' if we could go to the Wildflower Meadow! To hunt! It's okay if we do, right?" The words came out in a rush of air, the larger apprentice butting his head against Fawnpaw's shoulder playfully and looking back at the white tom hopefully. Skyfall blinked, a slight frown coloring his features. Thornpaw noticed him look somewhere behind them, waving his tail in a signal. Just as the tabby apprentice glanced over his shoulder to see who it was Skyfall had called over, the senior warrior spoke. "You may go, if you take Maplebrook with you."
Though he did feel a little disheartened that they were going to have a kit-sitter, Thornpaw kept his jaws shut. Leaning over so his muzzle was next to Fawnpaw's ear, he murmured to her. "Well, better than nothing, I guess?" BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~410 words Fawn @kahani Sorry Maplebrook XD

Maplebrook 20 Moons, She-Cat, Warrior of Treeclan, Mentor of Fawnpaw The silver tabby was relaxing in the sun, taking the advantage of her day off training with Fawnpaw to soak up such nice rays of sunshine, her bright green eyes lazily opening once in a while to let everyone know she was not dead from how still and relaxed she looked. Her peaceful afternoon was soon interrupted by the sound of Thornpaw racing across camp to see Skyfall, begging the senior warrior to let both him and Fawnpaw off to Wildflower Meadow. Her stomach sank as the acting deputy flicked his tail in her direction, an unspoken command between the two as the white tom spoke, mentioning that Maplebrook was to go with them and the silver tabby's maw dropped a little in protest. While she adored Fawnpaw and thought the creamy she-kit was a brilliant little protegee the tom beside her, Maplebrook was not so fond off.
" Very well Skyfall, Come on Fawnpaw, Thornpaw " Her voice, normally soft and sweet was rigid and stiff, it was clear that she did not want to kit sit the pair as much as they didn't want her to. Skyfall had made a frustrating call for her to be the one that was made go but at the end, she knew why he had called upon her. Maplebrook was a responsible cat, she would get the two back to their mother's safely. Her long tail flicking in annoyance as she locked eyes with the acting deputy, her annoyance clear but she did her best to put on a bright face and put up with the pair for a few hours, maybe she could soak up some sunshine while they attempted to catch some prey.

Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLAN"You may go, if you take Maplebrook with you."
"But--!" Fawnpaw wanted to protest that they were more than old enough to go out of camp by themselves, that they weren't a bunch of kits in the nursery anymore, but her mentor was already walking over. Fawnpaw straightened her ears, trying not to look visibly annoyed. Maplebrook didn't ask to be their chaperone - and it was obvious in the she-cat's curt behavior that Skyfall's order had been an inconvenience.
Relaxing a little, Fawnpaw decided to take this in stride. Having Maplebrook would probably help them hunt anyway. "That's okay, she's really good at hunting - together, we can bring back plenty. Did I tell you Maplebrook helped me catch a squirrel the first time we went hunting?" Fawnpaw mewed proudly, her tail weaving soft s-patterns through the air. Aspenpaw and Amberpaw had been so impressed!
The twitterings of many birds caught Fawnpaw's attention then, and she instinctively went into a neat crouch, stalking towards the moss meadow. Is hunting birds like hunting anything else? Birds could fly away, of course, but that just meant she had to be extra quiet. Sneaking forward, silent as a snake in tall grass, Fawnpaw's haunches wriggled (and she double-checked her tail was low, keeping her balanced) before springing forward with admirable speed towards a common sparrow.
Something must have gave her away, because her paws landed on nothing, claws catching tufts of clover, not feathers. "Aww, toadstools. Maplebrook?" The kitten looked at her mentor, and then at Thornpaw - wondering if he would mind the impromptu lesson. "Can you teach us how to catch birds?" She wanted to get a sparrow, next time. Or maybe a robin, with the pretty red chest feathers. As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 279 Words ❋ @kahani BlooRey DVD ❋ Notes: maybe this will count as a hunting thread for Thornpaw? SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan Thornpaw walked alongside his friend, grinning easily at her as she excitedly rambled about her last training session with Maplebrook. He nodded his head with her, long-furred tail dancing behind him. "I think you forgot to tell me that, Fawnpaw. You'll have to fill me in once we add our own prey to the pile!" He purred, before their pace picked up to carry them to the Wildflower Meadow more rapidly. Amber eyes flickered to the older cat among the group, the young tom's mind working behind the scenes. She seemed far less than happy to be here. Almost less pleased than we are to have her here. He remarked.
The lively chattering of birds soon wrapped his attention, his pupils dilating fractionally as excitement slid through his veins. As Fawnpaw spotted her desired prey, Thornpaw fell back to ensure he didn't startle the bird. He watched the she-cat with interest, going still as she dropped into a crouch and began to stalk forward until.. The tabby tom's ears flicked forward in surprise, admiring the speed of her strike. Fox dung! He muttered to himself, disappointed that she landed on empty grass. Fawnpaw didn't seem too disheartened however, turning to her mentor.
Thornpaw trotted forward, amber eyes glittering hopefully. "Yeah, Maplebrook! Fawnpaw says you're great at hunting! What's the secret to hunting birds? Is it the crouch?" As he spoke, he made a little half jump to sink into a hunter's crouch. "Or is it the stalk?" He placed one paw in front of the other, sneaking toward his best friend. "Oh! Or is it the jump! Do you have to jump a certain way? Right into the sky like a bird? Or, or..." He snapped his jaw shut, plunking his haunches down to the grass below.
It took every fiber in him to hold his tongue, his left fore paw even jittering slightly. He just had to know! BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~320 words Fawn @kahani XD He's trying!

Maplebrook
Maplebrook was behind the apprentice's watching over them like a mother bird to her chicks, and while she cursed Skyfall for making her kit-sit her apprentice on her day off. The older cat was doing her best to keep the moody behaviour to a minimum. The kit's didn't ask for her to come, Skyfall did and it was clear in the way their little faces deflated when the senior warrior spoke about her coming along that they were almost as impressed as she was.
Maplebrook could not help the small smile that appeared on her face as Fawnpaw used her training to attempt to catch a sparrow but instead she landed but nothing but feather's, but despite this she still seemed unaffected and turned to mew her concerns to Maplebrook, quickly followed by Thornpaw babbling about the different aspect's of hunting a bird and she laughed softly, affectionately nudging him with a paw. " Deep breaths Thornpaw, all that talking will scare of the prey" she spoke, amused and a little flattered that Fawnpaw spoke so highly of her hunting skills. The bright green eyes soon landed on her apprentice " You did very well for your first time with birds Fawnpaw , they are very difficult to catch, their eyesight is very sensitive to movement so it's a bit harder to sneak up on them" She spoke, allowing her tail to curl around her apprentice approvingly before she continued.
" The thing that gave you away was the butt wiggle and also impatience, like with most animals, the best time to strike with birds is when they are not paying attention, digging for worms or such, the leap is also important, it's best to strike from behind the bird but the leap you did was correct" Maplebrook finished her lesson with an affectionate wink to the young tom and she-cat. She preferred to keep her critique of her apprentice light and give her a few well placed compliments to boost her confidence, the first step to being a great warrior was believing that you could be one. Nodding her head towards the direction the meadow was in she looked at the younger cat's. " To Wildflower Meadow, you two and maybe I will teach you some more" she added as an extra incentive to get the kit's moving along, they were actually both rather sweet and she could not help but smile when she saw them together.

Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANImpatience. Oh, I should've waited then. Catching birds was not at all like catching squirrels or mice; she needed to learn how to be patient, especially because of the things Maplebrook had just pointed out. Sensitive eye-sight... Fawnpaw looked down at her creamy coat with blue shading, wondering how she must look from a bird's perspective. Thornpaw and Maplebrook must have had an easier time of blending in; their tabby coats, with earthy tones, went with just about everything.
"Okay, I'll keep practicing!" mewed Fawnpaw, keeping pace with them both. "Will they have a harder time seeing me if I try to hide in the shadows first?" It was easy for cats to see each other in dark spaces, but what about birds? If she could learn how to be a little sneakier... maybe she could catch a robin.
Maybe two.
But Fawnpaw didn't want to get ahead of herself, she wanted to get better.
Watching her friend fidget and chatter like an agitated starling, Fawnpaw stifled a grin by licking her chest fur, trying to keep the corners of her muzzle from rising too high. I don't know if Thornpaw knows HOW to be patient. The large tabby was going to have difficulty keeping still; he didn't even stay still when he was asleep, Fawnpaw had seen his paws twitch and his tail flick even when he dreamed.
"Think you can get the next one, Thornpaw?" she asked, wanting to see if he would prove her 100% right - or if she'd made the mistake of underestimating him. After all, he was a good apprentice, and Lionstar must've been teaching him so much.
What if he's learning even more than me? Fawnpaw's pace faltered a half-heartbeat, but she regained her confidence a second later. Then I'll just have to catch up, that's all! As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 302 Words ❋ BlooRey DVD @kahani ❋ Notes

SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan The tabby apprentice grinned apologetically at the older she-cat as Maplebrook reminded him to remain quiet, lest he frighten away all the surrounding prey. Foxdung. He repeated in his mind. Silence was definitely not his strong suit, unlike his mother. Thornpaw took after his father in far more than coloring. Whereas Zephyrfang spoke enough for both himself and his mute mate, Thornpaw talked for the sake of lifting the spirits of those who would listen. Unfortunately for him, this often incessant chatter was enough to annoy some of his Clanmates less endowed with the trait of patience.
He listened intently to Maplebrook as she instructed Fawnpaw on where she'd gone wrong. Lionstar had briefly reviewed hunting with him, though they had yet to set out and try it. The most practice he'd gotten was when he'd excitedly shown off to his mother what Lionstar had taught him. Silentsong's brilliant smile had made it all worthwhile. Surprisingly large tabby paws plodded off excitedly towards the Wildflower Meadow as Maplebrook instructed they continue moving. He was perfectly content to bound that way, until his friend's gentle teasing met his ears. Stopping short in his tracks, he narrowed his amber eyes at the challenge. He was nothing if not determined.
Peeking his tongue out tauntingly at her, his tabby ears pivoted to locate the nearest prey. A starling fluttered near the base of a tree a few foxlengths ahead, not yet disturbed by their presence. Sliding into a crouch and doing his best to mimic what he'd seen in Fawnpaw's crouch along with the instructions Lionstar had given him, Thornpaw stalked forward. He was careful not to trip over any sticks, but alas he forgot to still his tail. It was perched a little too high, and it danced excitedly behind him.
Eventually, it startled the bird, giving away his location just as Thornpaw began closing in. The flutter of wings caused his amber eyes to widen. Mousedung! Bounding forward rapidly and spring-boarding off a tree in a desperate last-ditch attempt to snag the bird out of the air, his large paws struck nothing but emptiness. Landing with a thud, Thornpaw's haunches dropped to the ground as he glanced skyward, watching the starling flutter away. When it pulled out of sight, he dropped his amber eyes back to the mentor apprentice pair with a huff, tail tip flicking beside him. "Oops?"
He glanced to Maplebrook hopefully, seeking out advice from the no-doubt talented warrioress. BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~400 words Fawn @kahani My poor boy is trying so hard XD

Maplebrook Maplebrook smiled softly at her apprentice's apparent appreciation for her advice and affection shone in her emerald green eyes as she glanced at both of the young cat's. She had actually started to enjoy herself in their company, it was not as stressful as she had imagined and she mentally send a prayer to Starclan for Silentsong, she had great respect for the silent yet beautiful she-cat, her patience was no doubt endless, after all she had raised Thornpaw and if she thought he was a handful she could only imagine what other's who had even less patience than she thought. Maplebrook was actually a patient she cat, she never got mad or scolded her apprentice when Fawnpaw made a mistake, instead she preferred to calmly point out the mistake add ways to fix it and then find something that her talented little prodegy had done right. It was a bit of a soft hearted teaching technique but Fawnpaw still respected her and it worked, she had caught a squirel under Maplebrook's instruction, a fact that even the warrioress herself was proud to admit. Thornpaw seemed to take Fawnpaw's little challenge on catching the next bird to heart and when a starling landed only a few foxlenghts away the young tom seemed to eagerly jump at the opportunity to impress not only his friend but perhaps the warrior herself and settling down into a sit Maplebrook watched the tom with the same amount of attention she gave her own apprentice, Thornpaw was Lionstar's apprentice yes but the female offered a very different teaching style so perhaps this may prove useful to all the cat's involved.
A slight hiss of disappointment left her maw as Thornpaw, like Fawnpaw landed on empty dirt rather than feathers but she quickly concealed it, rising to her paw's she approached the tom, her eyes shining with amusement and perhaps the slightest hint of sibling like affection. " Impressive try Thornpaw but I am afraid that tail gave you away. It can be very exciting, learning to hunt but like I tell Fawnpaw, patience is key,, focus on keeping yourself as still as possiable until the right moment and you will do great" she spoke softly, allowing her tail to rest on the kit's head for a breif second before she moved it. Content to do whatever the pair wished, after all she was not in a hurry to end her day off from duties.

Fawnpaw 7 MOONS - SHE-CAT - TREECLANFawnpaw had to cover her mouth with her tail to keep from giggling. Don't wave your tail around, Thornpaw! Even NightClan can see it! Whether or not that changed the outcome of his hunting, Fawnpaw wasn't sure. If Maplebrook said something about it afterward, then Fawnpaw's theory was correct - but for now, she silently egged on her denmate, watching him pounce.
And then spring-board off the side of the tree. "Wow! That was a great try, Thornpaw!" I bet I could do that too. She wanted to practice leaping from tree trunks, to see for herself if that really did help with catching birds. Or surprising enemies, for that matter. Eager to follow in Thornpaw's footsteps, Maplebrook's gentle lecture was enough to cool some of the energy in paws.
Not a lot, but enough. Right. Hunting. Don't get distracted. We can practice that later.
"Maybe we should try to catch one together? All three of us?" Fawnpaw liked hunting in pairs; though her previous experience only involved Maplebrook, that style suited the petite she-kitten well. She liked the certainty - or at least the higher probability of catching something - that came with hunting in pairs.
"Maplebrook can tell us where to hide." Which one of us does the catching? We can't all go for the bird at the same time. That would be a chaos of feathers, fur and whiskers if ever there was one. Fawnpaw liked Thornpaw, and valued his company immensely - but that didn't mean she wanted to be squashed if the tabby tom ever crashed into her.
The smartest thing to do, then, would be to... "Can we distract it while you catch it, Maplebrook?" Unless the bird took off because it saw them, Fawnpaw wanted to try it out. Maybe Thornpaw's waving tail would be a good hunting technique after all? She smiled conspiratorially at her denmate, hoping he'd give it a go. As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family ❋ 315 Words ❋ @kahani BlooRey DVD ❋ Notes: Nevermind about bringing in Lionstar, xD didn't realize he was sick at the time of this thread.

SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD, SOME TURN TO DUST OR TO GOLDThoRnpaW 6 Moons || Tom || TreeClan Despite the flash of pride he felt under Fawnpaw's awed gaze, Thornpaw did his best to quell the sensation. She liked the tree leap. He thought to himself before listening to the warrior among them as she spoke. The tabby tom kitten purred appreciatively at Maplebrook's advice, nodding his head to demonstrate he understood. He glanced back at his tail a moment, frowning at it as it flicked from one side to the next. Making a quick mental note to pay more attention to his tail next time, Thornpaw's ears pricked as Fawnpaw's inquisitive mew greeted their ears.
Interest sparked behind his already bright gaze, his head bobbing along to her words eagerly. As his mind became wrapped up in something else, his expressive tail began to twist and flick excitedly behind him, the tom unaware of its dancing pace. "Hunting together sounds really cool!" He purred, glancing toward Maplebrook again. "That way we can see an expert in action! Fawnpaw has already seen you, but it wouldn't hurt for her to see again, right?" His tail flicked his companion on the shoulder as he spoke, the tom shifting to offer her a grin as he finished.
He hesitated a moment, looking behind him again to see that darned tail of his. With a frown, he made an effort to still it (though he tapped a paw to the ground lightly instead, as though he physically couldn't stop moving) before looking at Maplebrook again. "And this way, we can put into practice what you've just told us!" With a warmth to his voice, he hopped from one forepaw to the other in soft little shifts. "Wow, I didn't know learning could be so fun! I hope all my lessons with Lionstar are like this too! You're lucky to have Maplebrook as a mentor, Fawnpaw!"
Honesty rang in his voice. This wasn't just some ploy to get on Maplebrook's good side; he genuinely thought highly of her. After all, if Fawnpaw liked her, she must have been kind. And in the end, all he wanted was for Fawnpaw to be happy. BUT YOU WILL REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES ~330 words @kahani Fawn <3~
