The pretty, torbie she-cat padded silently into camp, a mouse dangling from her jaws. Her tail flicked from side to side as she moved with grace and ease. The air around her seemed to be positively charged, as her facial features were completely content. There was the high chance that, had she been able to, she would have been humming, or even singing as she walked. However, the she-cat was silent, just as she was everyday of her life. Brokensong didn't seem to mind, however. The mute she-cat simply continued on her merry way, depositing her mouse on the pile carefully. She backed away from the pile, stopping to stretch her body. Her tail flicked yet again as she finished, her eyes blinking open once more.

Slowly she glanced around, wondering what she could see. After a moment, she shook out her long fur, abandoning her decision to find someone to speak to. Or... Listen to, she supposed. She turned then, obviously meaning to head back towards the warrior's den or something, when suddenly she caught sight of a black and white tom not far from her. She pricked her ears in obvious alarm, before an apologetic look crossed her features. She nodded her head to the tom in greeting, searching out a name. Wolfspirit.

The tortoiseshell tabby's ears pricked again as the tom cat spoke to her. She was one who took great interest in voices, which was understandable due to her condition. There was something about voices that pulled her in. Looks mattered very little to the pretty she-cat, which might seem a bit ironic. But it was the truth. A captivating voice was much more attractive to Brokensong than any coat type. And she had to say, the tom had a rather... Attractive voice. Now, however, she ran into a problem. This particular tom seemed a little confused as to why she hadn't spoken to him. It was true, she knew very little about this tom, only what she could pick up from others. They'd never interacted, really, so it was possible that the black and white cat didn't know that she couldn't respond to him. Not verbally at least.

The torbie gave her coat a gentle shake, preparing herself. She waved her tail at him, her eyes closing as she smiled warmly at him. She soon opened them again, hoping to StarClan that that had portrayed what she would have wanted to do. Had it been her choice, she would have purred a warm, and cheerful greeting to him. But there was no need for regret. She had been born this way, StarClan had meant for it to be, and so it was. She just hoped she didn't end up offending this tom. He seemed nice enough, if not a little... Secluded?

Suddenly, the tom was moving towards her. She wasn't one to judge others on their appearance, so even as he slowly moved towards her, his large frame drawing nearer, she didn't think anything of it. To her, he was just approaching her, for a conversation perhaps? Not that she could offer him much in return. Her ear flicked slightly as he came to a stop before her.

She was graced once more with his voice, though the words he spoke caused her to step back slowly, stunned. She was glad her message had come across, but this was the first time that anyone had really flat out asked her if she was mute like that. Normally, people awkwardly tried to stumble around it. Her eyes flicked down to the ground for a moment, before she looked back up at him, nodding her head in a clear sign that she was indeed mute.

She offered him an apologetic smile, as though it were her fault that she was mute. She hoped he didn't walk away, simply because she was mute. But, she would not hold it against him if he did. It's usually what everyone did anyway.

She hadn't realized she had allowed her slight sadness to reach her facial features, so when the tom told her there was no reason to be sad, she blinked slowly, confused before giving a silent bit of laughter, which brightened up her features. She gave one shoulder a soft shrug, not at all minding his tail, which was laying over her shoulders. In fact, it was a welcomed change. Not many spent much time with her, and didn't interact with her much. In truth, Brokensong was an extremely physical she-cat, as it was easier to communicate if she could touch, or show. With Wolfspirit so close to her, she was able to give him a smile, before gently poking his shoulder in silent thanks.

She then found herself a little bit stuck. She wanted to ask him how he was, to be polite, but, of course, a silent barrier blocked her words. Thinking for a moment, she lifted her paw, tapping it to his to get his attention, flicking her ear before tipping her head to the side. It was obvious she was curious about something, she just hoped he sort of understood. She blinked at him, hoping he was able to figure out that she was asking him how he was.

The tortoiseshell tabby she-cat had expected him to not understand what she was asking, so her features didn't change. She simply dipped her head and waved her tail, smiling at him as though to say nice to meet you. She paused for a moment ears flicking back slightly. She couldn't tell him her name. That was a huge barrier. She didn't think he knew her name, and there was little chance he could guess it, with a name like Brokensong. No one had flat out guessed it correctly yet, though not many had actually tried, she supposed. Even so, the she-cat pushed any notion of her name away, tail flicking his side, again, grabbing his attention. It was a habit of hers, just to make sure they were looking at her. Without looking at her, they would miss something, and she had no way of telling them that.

Her hazel-green eyes looked up at the sky. The air was still cold, which was obvious in the way her breath steamed upon contact with the air, but the sky was still beautiful. Perhaps the others were right when they said that Leafbare was finally letting go. Perhaps the weather would begin improving, and all the snow would disappear. She looked back at Wolfspirit, who's name she was absolutely certain about, before offering him yet another smile. The reason behind all her smiles? The truth was today, she actually felt rather happy. Someone had bothered to even attempt a conversation. And not to mention, the tom's voice was a thing of beauty.

Off-hazel eyes blinked at Wolfspirit for a moment before she nodded her head rather enthusiastically. It was true, the stars were something that amazed her. So breathtakingly beautiful. Her eyes slipped closed as she grasped for an image of the beautiful flickering beings high above. Her ears tipped back slightly, and her nose stayed lifted slightly in the air, enjoying the feeling of the wind in her fur, and the peace that surrounded her.

Her eyes flicked open after a moment, focused once more on the large black and white tom near her. She flicked him with her tail, tipping her head, wondering if he enjoyed stargazing like she did, or if it was only her. It wouldn't bother her either way, it was simply something she was curious about. Her body shifted slightly as her tail moved to wrap around her paws. Her features were gentle as she awaited a response from the tom.

The torbie she-cat had yet to catch him staring at her, which was probably a good thing. The concept of herself being beautiful was not an easy one for the she-cat to grasp, and the staring might be taken in a different manner than it was meant. She listened to his words, giving him a small nod of understanding. Her green gaze shifted to the forest for a moment, staring into it as though she could see something there. In truth, she was simply sucked into her own thoughts, which was obvious by the soft, glazed look that crossed her features.

She was thinking about the forest, about her trips into the forest. She knew there were some who worried about her venturing in there by herself. It wasn't that they didn't think she could handle herself. Brokensong, though silent, wasn't totally useless. It was the fact that, should she run into trouble that she couldn't handle, she couldn't call for help. Still, the things Wolfspirit spoke of... Her eyes drifted shut for a moment again. It was all true. It was such a peaceful place... A peace you could only find when you were alone. Her eyes blinked open again as she turned her focus back to him, offering him a smile that was almost apologetic. It felt to her as though he were the one holding up the conversation. What could they do, however? She couldn't exactly pitch in, verbally at least.
