Day 25: While the day dawns bad weather, an eerie harvest moon hangs reddish-orange and huge in the night sky.

curiosity is not a sin...
...but we should exercise caution with our curiosity
Shadowchaser
So many new faces... Shadowchaser still grappled with the surprise of seeing TreeClan's hulking deputy in place of Lionstar, who had been leader before his birth, and maybe even before Hollowcry's and Echobreeze's. Trying to keep up with Clan politics was a little dizzying, so Shadowchaser directed his focus on his own little pocket of the valley.
His fellow medicine cats.
Rustpaw was in attendance, and he made sure to greet her with a purr, a touch of sympathy in his eyes over how overwhelming this must all be. StarClan, his first gathering was so long ago. Ebonyheart was present, as well as Sagepaw and her less-than-sociable mentor. Shadowchaser made no more than a polite nod, a friendly smile, in their direction.
He never knew where he stood with TreeClan's medicine cats. The new apprentice meant a chance for new impressions to be made - Sagepaw did not have to be haunted by the shadows of their Clan's rivalry - but Falconstorm's presence always threw him. He was intimidatingly large, and rumors had reached even NightClan of the tom's previous life as a warrior.
No sooner had Shadowchaser taken a step forward that the scent of LightningClan's healer reached him. His demeanor warmed instantly, and he spun around, meeting the ginger she-cat with a friendly wave of the tail. "Kindleflare! Good to see you. I wanted to speak to you after the half-moon meeting, but it didn't feel like a good time..." Dark paws scuffed the ground, a little embarrassed. Though he had visited before, it felt impolite to cross into LightningClan territory to see Kindleflare whenever the urge struck him. Besides... He was the sole medicine cat now. It was important that he stay close to his home.
Nevertheless, Kindleflare's grief had been on his thoughts lately.
