"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." ~Poppypaw
She huddled close to the others as they awaited the signal to approach the place where the Gathering was held every moon. She wasn't aware of whether she was more nervous or excited to be chosen to come along with the others of those who got chosen this night to go to the Gathering. Bright eyes attempted to peer over the heads and shoulders of the larger warriors of Rainclan. A few hushed whispers among her clan mates reached her ears like the softest murmur of the cold wind that blew it's breath across her face making her paw rise to absently rub at her cold nose. If she got sick from this Gathering tonight she would most definitely not be too happy. The familiar pointed ears of her den mate Rustpaw caught her eye and she smirked coming to sidle up to the other's side. This would be the first Gathering that Poppypaw, Rustpaw, and Stormpaw would have been on; the brown molly was thankful that she at least had friends among her group if she by chance got uncomfortable or overwhelmed by the number of cats that she knew would be gathering below.
The signal to approach was given and she quickly moved to her paws; thankful to be moving again as her paws were starting to hurt from the cold ground. She walked among her den mate's sides as she followed in the group down to where numbers of cats grouped together. The scent was what caught her attention most. All the array of scents from every clan made her reel back a moment. Long enough that she noticed her group of clan mates dispersing to seek out the other cats of the four clans. Panicking Poppypaw looked around in search of her friends but couldn't find them. Ugh, why did she have to be caught off guard? What do cats do here if left alone? Should she seek someone out maybe? Making up her mind the young apprentice forced her paws to move as her keen eyes sought out a singular figure that looked to be maybe around her age that she did not know in hopes to maybe make a friend since her own friends left to explore the many faces and scents of the other clan cats.
A particular looking feline caught the bat-eared apprentice's attention. Small enough to be an apprentice and from the back; as the other wasn't facing Poppypaw yet, looked like an interesting target. The other's coloring of fur pattern what pulled Poppypaw in. It was pretty with a mix of snowy white fur as the base scattered with large shapes of golden ginger patches. Most of her clan mates were known for solid colors so this new character that caught Poppypaw's eye brought her to a standstill right beside them. Blinking a moment, the brown apprentice arched her head around to be able to see their face with a curious look in her pale blue eyes as she studied the other's face not aware that she was probably too close for comfort.
"You have pretty fur." was the first thing that escaped the apprentice's mouth without thought as she peered into the face of the other.
Giving an awkward smile realizing that they were maybe too close she backed off and took a few steps around to face the other but gave the other clan cat some space. "Sorry, that was kind of a stupid introduction. sorry about that, I didn't mean to get in your face like that. You just sort of caught my eye when I was searching for my friends. I'm Poppypaw by the way, from Rainclan. Who are you?" she asked now able to see the other better from the front.
