APPEARANCE
APPEARANCE
A muscular, long-furred brown tabby and white tomcat with pale yellow eyes.
Summitwatcher is a large cat, far larger than a nine-moon-old cat should be. While some of his bulk could be passed off as fur, most of it stems from his build and bloodline. Kin on both sides of his family are larger than average, so it’s no surprise that Summitwatcher is following in those pawsteps. He’s a behemoth of a cat, and still has a little growing left to do. He’s trained hard to hone his bulk into a mass of muscle, and though he’s large, there is very little fat on him. Large paws, broad shoulders, and a wide head are all notable attributes he shares with his family. There is power behind his bulk. His strengths lie in battle, and he is a very talented fighter. Still, he manages stealth when the situation calls for it, having trained to have total control over his body at nearly all times. Because of this control, it is rare for the tom to misstep, and he has an unexpected grace for one of his size.
His coat is long and thick, only adding to his overall size. The longest fur can be found on his ruff and chest, forming a large mane, and his tail. The rest of his fur is slightly shorter, with the shortest areas being his face and legs. His ears and paws are tufted. His base is a warm caramel color that’s been swirled with dark chocolates and black in a classic marbled tabby pattern. The typical tabby M drizzles his forehead, matching the stripes beneath his eyes. Summitwatcher’s bottom half is dipped in white. His paws, portions of his legs, and his belly are all a solid alabaster. His muzzle and chest are the same shade as his belly, a striking contrast to the darker colors along his topline. Pale yellow eyes are rimmed in caramel, with black skin emphasizing his piercing gaze.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY
Summitwatcher is an ambitious cat. He is motivated and driven, willing to go above and beyond to achieve what he wants. He strives for greatness, hungers for it. Summitwatcher has a need to be seen and acknowledged. Everyone has to be witness to what he is capable of, to what he can become. His ambition borders on power-hungry, and Summitwatcher is not afraid to push past his limits to achieve what he desires. He is a hardworking and dedicated tom, eager to step forward and volunteer his strengths.
Charming and charismatic, Summitwatcher appears to be a friendly, outgoing tom. He’s easy to make friends and is tolerant of the differences in the cats around him. Yet beneath the amiable smiles and loose laughter lies a darker truth. There is a darkness within him, a toxicity that manifests in rage and ambition. It fuels his drive, powers his actions, and is very much the reason he has excelled so quickly. Being all but rejected by his parents woke a fear in him, a fear he crushes with brute force. He is afraid of being seen as weak, as a failure, so to combat that, he pushes himself farther than he should. He seeks attention, craves it, needs it. He needs his strengths to be seen and acknowledged, because if not, he’s weak. Once he gets a small taste of that recognition, he’ll need more, because his desire for it will never be fully satiated.
Over his brief apprenticeship, Summitwatcher learned to accept the darkness within and began to hone it into a weapon for his own purpose. All of his fears, all of his doubts, he channeled into training, forcing himself to rise above weaker versions of himself. He’ll claw his way to the top, tearing through anyone or anything that stands in his way. In this regard, the cats he so easily befriends with his charming facade are little more than puppets, pawns to be sacrificed for his own gains. His ambitions have not led to bloodletting yet, but only time will tell if his claws will be stayed.

HISTORY
HISTORY
Summitkit was born in a litter of three to Scorchfur and Wildmane, two large TreeClan warriors. Scorchfur came from a long line of larger cats, and all of the males in Wildmane’s family had been on the larger side as well, so it was no surprise that Summitkit, Cavernkit, and Peregrinekit were all big kits. Peregrinekit was the smallest of the trio, though that didn’t mean much given that she was still larger than some of the other kits in the nursery. Summitkit and Cavernkit were both toms, and Peregrinekit was the only girl. Wildmane had always wanted a daughter, so she doted on young Peregrinekit, and Cavernkit quickly became Scorchfur’s favorite, inheriting much of the laid-back tom’s personality. Summitkit, however, always had a drive to do something, which clashed with Scorchfur’s “sit around and be lazy” attitude, so they never really hit it off. And with Wildmane’s attention focused on her daughter, Summitkit soon realized that he was the odd man out. His parents still cared for him, but he could sense that he wasn’t the favorite child and it hurt. This rejection fueled his desires to be seen and acknowledged, and would later drive his fire and ambition in apprenticeship.
After what seemed like an eternity, Summitkit, Cavernkit, and Peregrinekit were all brought before TreeClan to be named apprentices. Summitpaw was given to a warrior named Owlstrike. Summitpaw’s drive and ambition were noticeable from the start, and Owlstrike pushed Summitpaw to his limits. The tabby and white tom never once complained, even as he was tested and tried daily. He would return to his nest in the evening, dead tired, muscles spent, body exhausted, and fall immediately into a dreamless sleep, and then be up at dawn the next day to do it all over again. There were breaks, of course, occasionally, so he didn’t completely wear himself out, but even then, he still strove to better himself. His physical breaks would become mental challenge days. Within a season, he had gone from a new apprentice with a need to prove himself to a fledging warrior ready to take on the world. It was something Lionstar would never allow, though, so Summitpaw would have to remain in the apprentices’ den, even though he had come so much farther than his peers already.
But then, Lionstar met his end, and Pumafang rose up as Pumastar. A tom with completely different views than the golden cat before him, he approached Owlstrike and Summitpaw to ask if he was ready to be made a warrior. Excited that he had finally be seen for his strengths and his talents, Summitpaw agreed that he was ready. At nine moons old, Summitpaw became Summitwatcher, much to the shock of most of the Clan. It’s uncertain as of yet how this will affect Summitwatcher and his interactions with the rest of his Clan, but he is thrilled to be the first apprentice to ever be made a warrior before twelve moons.
