ANTFLAME THEY WERE QUICK TO SEE THE DEVIL IN ME |
001 / APPEARANCE a small dark silver tabby tom with blue-green eyes Antflame is the smallest of his litter, though he does not let anyone associate size with strength or ability. He is a well-built cat, his strength lying in battle and fighting. Relying on speed and heavy hits, he is a formidable opponent, both for enemies of the Clan as well as Clanmates that he may get into fights with. His fur is a dark silver shade, darker tabby markings criss-crossing the entirety of his pelt. His fur lightens along his chest and continues to lighten up to his muzzle, a pale off-white to contrast the rest of his dark fur. His eyes are a bright blue-green, often alight with mischief or narrowed in judgement. 002 / PERSONALITY positive: hardworking, witty, curious, confident neutral: ambitious, competitive, talkative, energetic negative: combative, impatient, impulsive, judgmental Antflame seems to make up for his small size with an abundance of personality. He is not hard to miss, a loud and talkative cat who is quick to share his thoughts and opinions, no matter how much they may not want to be heard. He does everything with confidence, rarely faltering or showing hesitation. Such behavior isn't always beneficial, but with friends, he can be useful with decision making or breaking overthinking habits. A hardworking Clanmate, Antflame is definitely not a cat that is necessarily disliked. He pulls his weight plus some, seeming to have an abundance of energy that he puts towards his duties. Curious, but sometimes to a fault, demanding answers and getting into other's business when perhaps he may not be welcome. He tends to be especially popular among young warriors and apprentices, for he is competitive and thrill-seeking, always up for a challenge or game. He isn't all niceties, though. Antflame is judgmental, scorning others who don't meet his standard and often not being shy about sharing such opinions. He doesn't shy from a fight, both in useful situations (such as against other Clans) but also in less useful situations, such as after he has said something rude. Not surprising for such an energetic cat, Antflame tends to be impatient and impulsive. He is a cat of action, preferring to jump into situations and figuring it out on the go rather than thinking it through. 002 / HISTORY mother: silverwillow, alive father: whitejaw, deceased brother: thistlewhisper (Gemini ) brother: molethroat sister: brightflower mentor: darkbite kit He was born to Silverwillow and Whitejaw, two stern warriors who had found love with each other. He was named Antkit for his dark pelt and small size. Joined by three other siblings, there seemed to be the makings of a big happy family.Almost immediately, though, the litter split. Brightkit and Thistlekit were often seen together, two cats driven by thought and compassion who were content to sit back and listen to stories, to discuss the future in the comfort of the nursery. They were, in Antkit's mind, very boring. No, he wanted to see the world, to experience it rather than just talk about it. Thankfully, the largest of the litter, Molekit, seemed to agree. So leaving their two boring siblings behind, the pair would venture into camp, poking their noses into dens and nests and finding all the weaknesses in the camp's security. "I have an idea." Antkit would say, almost daily, and Molekit would join him in executing it. They were an amusing pair to watch , small Antkit stomping around leading his much larger brother on whatever plan the pair had hatched. They were, to say the least, chaotic, and it was a relief to the queens of the nursery when they were finally apprenticed. apprentice He was assigned to Darkbite, a young she-cat whose energy matched his own, but lacked the assertiveness and discipline to keep him in line.Antpaw was not impressed with her. He was much more jealous that Thistlepaw was apprentice to Crookedfang. "It's not fair." he complained to Molepaw that evening, paws stomping his nest as Molepaw watched. "Crookedfang is way too cool for him!" Training turned out to be a challenge. Darkbite, while talented, was inexperienced with training an apprentice, and Antpaw looked (figuratively) down upon her. Often, they accomplished the most when joined by Molepaw and his mentor, Antpaw much more eager to learn when his brother was involved. This went on for several moons, their training almost always being joint lessons until one morning, Darkbite took him out alone. "We need to build your independence." she meowed. Antpaw's fur bristled defensively, frowning at her as he immediately readied for an argument. "It's good to have strong relationships with your Clanmates." Darkbite quickly continued, cutting off any snippy retort she knew her apprentice was preparing. "But how valuable can you be if you can't work alone?" This made Antpaw pause. He knew he wanted to be a great warrior. But what if she was right? Was he only half of himself if he could only be completed by Molepaw? It made him angry, but he didn't fight back. They began to train along, developing new techniques and methods specific to Antpaw and his own strengths. Despite his tendency to talk back and grow impatient with tasks he deemed worthless, he was a quick learner and eager to soak up as much information as possible. He soon learned to appreciate Darkbite, for while she certainly wasn't as cool as Crookedfang, she was energetic and spontaneous, pushing him and challenging him at every turn. Molepaw was experiencing his own successes, and the pair was soon complementing each other rather than relying on each other. warrior They graduated at 12 moons, Antflame named for his energy and passion. Thistlepaw and Brightpaw did not join them during their ceremony, and Antflame barely held back a sneer as he looked down upon them as he was granted his new name.It was ridiculous that they couldn't keep up with him and Molethroat. Pathetic, really. He eagerly took to his new role as a warrior, not caring much to look back and see how his other two siblings were doing. If anything, he began to revert back to his dominating ways of kithood, teasing and bossing them around whenever he had the opportunity. Two moons into warriorhood, his siblings and father were attacked by a fox. Antflame, of course, did not hear about it until Thistlepaw and Brightpaw returned to camp bearing their father's body and the story of what happened. Antflame was angry. Angry that their father was gone and angry that, despite their negligence, Thistlepaw and Brightpaw were given warrior ceremonies the next day. "If we were there, Whitejaw would still be alive." he grumbled to Molethroat as their siblings sat vigil, his blue-green eyes narrowed in their direction. Molethroat didn't disagree. From then on, Antflame's treatment of Thistlewhisper moved from simple sibling teasing to borderline hostility. he took his frustrations out on his brother, who despite being larger was so weak. But the Clan didn't seem to view him that way. Thistlewhisper was granted an apprentice first, leaving Antflame aghast. How could he advance within the Clan if he was competing with a cat who had never been more successful than him? It was infuriating. "Maybe you could get an apprentice if you matured a little." Darkbite said casually to him that evening as they shared a rabbit. Ridiculous! Antflame didn't want to wait for that. Things, miraculously, got even worse after that. His mother, Silverwillow, was discovered to have been repairing her broken heart with the company of a loner. Discovered, of course, by the wonderful Thistlewhisper. Antflame felt envious of his brother, who dazzled the Clan even thought Antflame knew that he worked harder and was stronger than Thistlewhisper could ever be. "You think too much." Molethroat would rumble after Antflame's rants, plopping a large paw onto his smaller brother's head as though to silence the thoughts that raced just as quickly as his body. It was hard not to think, though, when his biggest competitor was turning out to be his brother. He would show him! He would show the whole Clan just how great he could be. Antflame has since continued putting his heart into his duties, determined to be a great warrior of StoneClan. | 001 / MALE 002 / 25 MOONS 003 / WARRIOR 004 / STONECLAN |
