Owlstar
LightningClan || 81 Moons || Leader
"Don't worry little one, Owlstar has big plans for you."
It had been Rosefire who had comforted the tiny form of Dandelionkit during the day of the massive apprentice ceremony, in which all of her denmates ascended to the apprentice den with new names and mentors to train them in the arts of warriorhood. She had been left behind, but not out of cruel intentions or the notion that she wasn't ready nor good enough. Rather, her paws were going to be placed on a path that differed from the hardships of battle and hunting.
The clan's medicine cat was growing older, though that wasn't saying too much since her age practically rivaled that of the lanky leader who now led with her head held high and pride blooming within her chest. However, that didn't mean that it wasn't wise to push past previous pains and start training a new youth that would one day take her place when she decided to retire and rest.
Tigereye would never be forgotten, he had been a gentle tomcat with a large heart and his fate was an unforeseeable devastation to all those within Lightningclan. Owlstar herself, had often taken the time to check in on the young tabby as she did with his sister, Lynxfire, who shared the same unfortunate ending by the merciless claws of the cat hunter: Demon.
With quick strides that were appropriate to her lanky, oriental form, the gray coated leader made her way to the Hill Top and parted her whitening maw to call out to the clan she so dearly loved in that familiar raspy tone. "All those old enough to race along the moors gather around the Hill Top for a clan meeting!" Her voice echoed due to the stagnant wind as the heat of an unusual Leaf-Fall day bore down upon the open campsite.
It didn't take long for familiar lithe and slender shapes that were accommodated to those who lived among the moors, slip from dens and shadows where they rested during the waning evening. Wide, amber pools that reflected her namesake shifted to the softer den of the Nursery walls were Windspirit and Rosefire padded next to the remaining youngster who held the title of 'kit'.
The youngster was kin to Firesky and Russetfall, a child of Wildcall given to those who couldn't bare their own kits since it had been a couple of two she-cats wanting to raise a family of their own. Unfortunately, the mother who bore young Dandelionkit hadn't made it through the kitting process, leaving her within the care of two loving queens and a permaqueen who constantly resided within the nursery to care for new mothers and their young brood. She had grown up around the likes of Owlstar's own niece and nephews along with the wild litter that belonged to Windspirit and her former Treeclan mate.
"Dandelionkit." Owlstar spoke in that proper tone as she gently padded down from the Hill Top to stand next to the ginger and white form of Kindleflare. The new leader had gone to consult with her after the previous ceremony, the debate consisting merely of the possibility of the older Medicine Cat taking on another apprentice. The molly in leadership was confidant that her healer was ready to take this step, and proud at the fact that she had readily agreed despite the pain that was still present in shadows of her gaze.
With a gentle flicker of her long tail, Owlstar beaconed both kit and medicine cat forwards so that the ceremony could continue. It was time for Lightningclan's higher ranks to become full once more, a true testament that they were growing in size and power with each passing day.
