Name: Mossheart
Age: 63 moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: TreeClan
Rank: Deputy
Picture:
Description Summary: Mossheart is a small, lean, brown tom with short fur and tired, light gold eyes.
Personality: An old soul with the weight of a thousand lives, Mossheart oozed sympathy from day one. Although, unlike Lionstar, the tom was mild and quiet. Perhaps his lack of initiative was what drove Lionstars decision for Deputy away from the tom, who rivaled Gorsetail in ethics and support. Mossheart is a supportive cat, always content at following on a patrol and offering up a place of power for the sake of knowledge or ambition. He is an incredible teacher and has a knack for diplomacy. He is hardly eloquent, but tactful beyond imagination: a down to earth, one in a million public speaker if he wasn’t too humble to fit a word in over others. Mossheart’s greatest weakness is not his own lack of confidence, but his innate ability to put everyone else on a pedestal above him. It is also his greatest strength. His code of altruism has been a defining factor in his life: it made him an incredible warrior and mentor, though inhibited him from achieving image of anything greater than a loyal follower in the eyes of the clan. Often overlooked, and content with that, Mossheart continues to serve the clan behind the scenes.
History: Born around the same time as Dunefang, Firesong, and Stonejaw, Mossheart was a single kit from two caring parents who have long since passed. Same as how his own parents lived, very few recognize Mosshearts presence and take for granted his relentless and undying support. It is likely that only Mossheart remembers his mother’s and father’s name, as they raised him to be an earthly king, warm and kind with no expectations: to find joy in caring, giving, and backing. To find purpose in standing behind the clan not just in fight but in faith as well. His parents were older when they had him, and loosing them before they could hear his warrior name (a token he requested not only in their honor, but also to hear his true nature at every calling) led to him finding strength in the growth and passing of others. Mossheart was a meek youth, but the death of his parents when he was an apprentice reassured him of his passion and intent: to fulfill the gaping hole in the clan that existed in their passing. To embody their faithful, undying loyalty not just to the value of a clan, but the value of an individual as well. Often felt as the heart of TreeClan, and referred to it by his parents, Mossheart’s empathetic and generous nature nullified the need for acknowledgement and encouragement, making him a nearly selfless asset with incredible poise and presence of mind.
Unfortunately, he thinks it is likely he live and die without anyone remembering his name, though he recognizes that living for the clan and sacrificing aura is his duty and calling. To be a faceless, nameless identity that picks TreeClan up, not just in the darkest of times. Ever since his parents died, he remembers the names of all of those lost since and feels their sacrifice down to the bone, repeating their names in his mind every night before he falls asleep. The fallen give him courage and strength, and even though he blends in with the very earth beneath his feet: even though he rarely achieves even a glimpse from those around him...he strongly believes that the souls of those passed live on in his heart and the hearts of others.
That everyone dies twice.
