Ebonyheart,
Livin' in ruins of a palace within my dreams
It was getting colder, the wind outside the comfort of the den barely reaching it's way into the warmth inside. The nest was filled and comfortably as the large black molly shifted and pressed her nose deeper into the short, gray pelt beside her. His scent was comforting, as always and it easily lulled her faint consciousness back into sleep. A purr almost threated to rise within the inky black she-cat's throat as she curled tightly into his side.
Ebonyheart!
The hiss of an ancient voice broke through her mind, causing the young healer to lift her head quickly. The fog of her dream breaking around her as her subconscious drifted back into the depth of her mind. She was startled by the sudden intrusion into her mind, into her dream which could only be done by a cat no longer living among the valley.
An ear twitched with the sudden feeling of guilt rising beneath the heaviness of her long pelt. The faint scent that lingered around her was familiar, almost like that of her mother but perhaps much older. Though, just as quickly as she had caught the scent it faded away with the chill of the cool leaf-fall winds that bustled beneath the pale moon.
Mossy green pools blink before shifting to glance around her rather empty den. Most of the time the silence and solitude didn't bother her, or rather not as much as it did when Sandblaze had first retired. Though, the twinge of loneliness was different this time around, as Ebonyheart's mind wavered back to the dream she had previously been enjoying.
The sudden feeling of being trapped was like a noose around her neck, Ebonyheart needed to get out of her den for a little bit. Standing and stretching, the black feline shook out her thick coat before padding into the openness of Stoneclan's quiet camp.
With it being nighttime hardly any-cat was awake, but it wasn't like it really mattered. The Medicine Cat honestly just needed some time to walk, to clear her head as she set a course past the entrance while nodding to the warrior standing guard. He looked a little tired but managed to wave his tail in acknowledgement to her as she passed by.
Wide, flat paws that were a unique trait to Stoneclanners, led the young feline through the stones and barren landscape near the camp. She didn't really have a destination in mind, Ebonyheart truly just wanted to escape the quietness of her den where she felt like Starclan's eyes were suddenly burning through the thickness of her pelt.
Of course, the sudden shift of winds brought a scent far too familiar to the she-cat's nose. It caused her to pause, vividly remembering the dream she had awoken from only minutes prior. The softness of the nest, the warmth of the gray body next to her... the nub of a tail Ebonyheart had twitched slightly.
Was it excitement or anticipation?
Slowly padding forwards, the healer crested a ridge to look down over the openness of Stoneclan's territory. Not far from where she stood in the shadows was Birdstar, sitting comfortably as he had his head tilted back and green pools trained upon the stars in the sky. He looked calm and peaceful, which of course peaked her curiosity as to what he was out here doing.
Giving a silent sigh, Ebonyheart decided to pad forwards. It wasn't like she could avoid the leader of her clan for the rest of her life, and besides it would be bad manners to completely ignore a cat just because of what muddled emotions raged within her ribcage. On top of that, she honestly didn't know if she could go for such a long period of time without speaking to him... or getting lost within the depths of his emerald hues.
"Birdstar." Her voice as sharp and proper as always, like the lady she had been raised. While she may have been confused beneath her pelt, Ebonyheart managed to reign it all in with perfection to keep herself within that aristocratic ideal. Pale green pools watched the older tom before her as she slowly made her way near him, glancing up at Silverpelt ever so slightly.
"What are you thinking about tonight?" Her voice softened, ever so slightly as she lowered her haunches to sit next to him. It was unintentional, but the young healer felt her coat brush again his as the ebony feline settled. There was a slight hitch of nervousness within her chest but she shooed it away, it would be improper to suddenly shift over because they had touched.
