Beauty is a joy that forever increases
It will never pass into nothingness
It will never pass into nothingness
The sun was basking a humid glow across the camp; filtering through the treetops. With a squirrel hanging from her teeth the light ginger tabby climbed the roots of a tree with careful paws before heading for a place she was not known for stepping foot in. She was doing her usual rounds of making sure all were fed like the kits and queens in the nursery to the elders. The warriors and apprentices to snatch their own prey if they are so pleased. Frankly, though, Primrosepetal hadn't seen Lionstar all that much and she hadn't been observant enough to see if he'd been eating. That's why the young warrior had gone out hunting that morning after her regular duties were done with and headed straight for the leader's den. Granted, she didn't know if he had eaten yet or not and she wouldn't be too hurt if he had eaten already and didn't want her catch. The ginger tabby just didn't want her leader to go hungry.
Pausing out front of the entrance to the den she sighed; wiggling her nose to get the squirrel tail fur out of her nose before she gingerly scraped at some bark in a way of addressing her arrival as she called out with a muffled voice.
"Lionstar, do you have a moment?" she called out. "I know you might be busy...I brought you something to eat; I wasn't sure if you'd been eating lately so..." she explained herself and paused to listen to see if she could hear anything inside the den.
She didn't hear any voices and listening harder she tried to see if she could hear a heartbeat or maybe some shuffling paw steps that would indicate anyone inside. Was he out and she'd missed him? She sighed and turned to leave. She'd just go put the squirrel in the pile for someone else to grab for later on since she didn't hear anyone inside. She wasn't so rude that she'd just walk in and see if he was home. She had more respect than that. Besides, what if he was just sleeping and she couldn't hear him over the sound of the forest around her? She was pretty tired. She just wanted to check upon him. Maybe he was just out for Pumafang? Just because he was a leader didn't mean he was confined to the camp of course. Shrugging the young warrior turned and began making her way carefully down the tree roots around her until she was stopped by the sound of paw steps. Confused she looked up hearing the shuffling and caught a glimpse of a figure through the shadows of the tree branches.
"Lionstar? Oh, I hadn't heard you earlier I thought you were out." she said as she set the squirrel down at her paws. "Did I disturb you? I'm sorry if I had. I was just checking up on you...Hopefully It's not too improper of me; I didn't want to disturb you if you were busy." she said softly.
She hoped he wasn't mad at her for stopping by. She wasn't one to seek him out on a regular basis as she tended to focus more on other warriors and apprentices that would be more talkative. But, today she had decided she needed to check up on the rest of her clan just to make sure everything was right. She was no deputy of course that was Pumafang's job among many other things but she was a motherly creature. She felt bad for not checking up on her leader too even if anything else was fine. She didn't want to neglect his well being either. Maybe she'd come up and check on Pumafang next time they met.
