Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything Sagepaw made sure not to wander too far. Although Falconstorm made her a little bit anxious at times, she was nine moons off and felt she had a good grasp on the things that made him tick. Having such a prickly cat as her mentor often made Sagepaw contemplate how she wanted to be seen once she became a full ranking medicine cat. She wanted to be the opposite of him in many ways, like being approachable, not just hospitable to someone once they were in her care. A cat shouldn't have to be injured in order to trust her or want to talk to her. Sagepaw was still just an apprentice, still just a young she-cat who craved friends, and despite the inability for anycat to hang out at her den, she wanted to be seen as cool and relatable.
Gripping a stick in her mouth, Sagepaw wandered around the fringes of TreeClan camp and between the arching bushes, collecting cobwebs and flinging the spiders off into the leaves. The cicadas were everywhere trilling and buzzing and clinging to every tree. It had been quite a shock to actually see one crawl out of the ground like a plant. The noise had been incredibly annoying at first, making it hard to sleep and the grumpy ones more grumpy, and this was now day 5 of these tiny bug-eyed beetle things. Sagepaw had gotten used to the noise, but tensions were high from the incessant noise.
As she stepped out from the hedges, she saw a couple of apprentices returning with their mentors, looking sore and well-traveled from a morning of training. "Maybe some of the new apprentices will want to be my friend," she considered as she watched them go to the fresh-kill pile to add their hunts to the top and take from the bottom.
"Good morning, everyone! Welcome back from a productive hunting trip!" Sagepaw called out encouragingly, earning mixed responses. It looked like they didn't want to be bothered while they ate, but Sagepaw continued nonetheless. "I have fresh cobwebs if anyone needs to be patched up." She looked from the warriors to their apprentices, trying to be helpful. Seeing the newer apprentices, she added, "I am the medicine cat apprentice, Sagepaw, okay? If you need any help and you're too nervous to go to Falconstorm, don't worry. I'll take good care of you." She smiled, hoping to ease away any nerves. “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

The training had been incredibly....what was some good words to describe it? Exhausting and tiresome, and yet exciting. Yet the buzz that had been keeping her energized during training had long since faded leaving nothing but the dull ache of pain in its wake. She was limping by the time camp had come into view, carrying her small mouse that she had managed to catch after training had finished. Pumafang had been a ruthless and relentless force. There was no resting even after training as hard as she had and the sudden wave of tiredness tugging at her bones and muscles. told her that and more. As she moved to deposit her mouse down onto the already fully stocked pile of food, she paused to take in the sight. With prey running well within the clutches of Greenleaf, it was only natural that the pile was so well off and the thought of just taking her prey and just settling down with it, instead of finding something else had occurred to her. Compared to her small tribute, there was a huge abundance of bigger and better prey within its depths and well, her mouse just looked so small in comparison. With her mind made up, the gray apprentice moved to settle a few paw-steps away from the pile. She plopped down and moved to bite down into the chewy flesh of her prey. The warmth of it, had faded much like her energy had, and it tasted stale in her mouth as she chewed and swallowed. Yet her hunger out-rode her sense of taste for the moment and within moments her meal was gone. With nothing less than small bits of flesh and blood. The apprentice moved to clean her paws and her face, in an effort to make herself more approachable appearance wise and wouldn't you know it, as she was just getting into this very notion, would a voice speak up. Drawing the gray apprentice's attention upward. She paused in her bathing to take in the cat before her. Sagepaw. The name rang with a sense of familiarity and when she spoke up about being the medicine cat apprentice. Well, that cleared everything up instantly. The entire clan knew about Sagepaw of course, alongside her mentor and fully trained medicine cat, Falconstorm. Even with her tiredness, Graypaw, with her friendly nature, found herself smiling at Sagepaw, her ears twitching slightly to take in the words that were being said. " It's nice to meet you, Sagepaw," She mewed softly with a twitch of her tail. Up until this moment she had, had no true interaction with the medicine cat apprentice, so in essence this was the first time meeting her, in reality, " And ugh ...speaking of being of patched up ," She laughed off her own silly words and slowly pulled herself to her feet. A small breath followed suit, and then she was moving towards Sagepaw, her limp quite obvious in her shifting of feet. " I'm a little sore..." She lowered her head a bit, and her ears dropped in her embarrassment but the smile that had remained on her maw, only widened. She wasn't sure what Sagepaw could do for her and she was unfamiliar with the customs of medicine cats, but maybe she could look her over and see if she had some sort of injuries on her. Maybe? Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything In a way, she envied the other apprentices. Training in such a physical way was hard work, but there was tangible improvements to be seen. She saw how much stronger cats like Graypaw and Acornpaw were becoming. They came back from patrol or training all worn out, but Sagepaw could see the muscles forming under those layers of fur and skin. She couldn't say the same for herself. She told herself that it was okay, she could rely on these future warriors to protect her, but she had never been away from her littermate long enough to notice stark differences.
Graypaw greeted her warmly, and Sagepaw's tail lifted at the younger she-cat's gentility. Despite her position implying status above the common warrior, Sagepaw did not hold herself high. In fact, with Falconstorm's attitude, the she-cat was constantly kept humble, and sometimes it warred with her nature gregariousness. However, in the presence of a friendly cat, one who smiled at her, Sagepaw's charisma was unbridled and she padded bouncily over to her side. "Oh? Well, let's take a look at you," she remarked.
The medicine cat apprentice watched Graypaw gingerly come to all fours and approach. Sagepaw quickly closed the gap between them so that Graypaw wouldn't have to limp any further. "What were you doing today? Battle training maybe or patrolling?" She touched her flank with outstretched pawpads, trying to sense any abnormal warmth pulsating from Graypaw's limbs and body. While she asked these questions, Sagepaw's head cocked curiously, looking the she-cat over for scratches or thorn-pricks, even ducking down to Graypaw's feet since she'd been limping. This was her first time doing triage so she gave Graypaw special attention. “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

At first glances, a cat could have easily believed that Graypaw was almost too delicate to be an apprentice, let alone a warrior to be. She wasn't necessarily a really small cat, but she wasn't the biggest either. She was a mild mix of kit to apprentice in appearance, with most of her assets appearing quite small, clearly not helping in well anything. So in the manner of speaking, it wasn't surprising that she had gotten hurt so easily while out training. She wasn't prone to being clumsy but with the intense work out she had just endured, it also wasn't surprising that she was a little sore. Okay, she was sore all over, but at least she had Sagepaw to help her out. There was a prep in the other 's steps that had the smile widening on Graypaws's maw, as the other apprentice approached her. Happiness, not because the gray molly was hurt or more so in pain, but simply because she actually needed her and was asking for help. Maybe, Graypaw was looking into it too much. Maybe. So pushing her thoughts to the side, the apprentice returned her attention back to studying the other molly in front of her. She observed the examination with a quiet mouth and perked ears. Taking in the question that was asked of her a few moments, Graypaw paused briefly to process the question at hand, before finally speaking. "" Well, I was doing some training with Pumafang and then we went hunting,"She mewed with a small shrug of her shoulders. The second words she spoke were filled with a light chuckle, a clear indication that she was in a good mood, despite her obvious limp and slightly fading pain. " Its possible that I just tripped over something when I was running after that mouse. I'm not clumsy, I swear, but I wasn't exactly looking where I was going so.." To her it wasn't a big deal but she wasn't completely sure, of exactly how she had ended up limping. So she hadn't exactly been lying when she said she could have tripped over something when chasing down her prey. But it was also a possibly that the training with her mentor had resulted in injury as well. She wasn't the most graceful of cats, and when training with Pumafang, it was best to make sure that you had all eyes on the large black tom. You could easily lose an eye if you didn't. " I'm sorry if that doesn't help," She replied softly, flicking her tail, " I really don't know how I ended up like that" She let out another soft chuckle, only to pause in the middle of her own words, as a question came to mind. Curiousity getting the best of her, she returned her light green glaze back to Sagepaw and went with her mind's bubbling thoughts. " What is it like being a medicine cat apprentice? Is it fun? Is it a lot of responsibilities like being a regular apprentice?" These were just a few of the thousand questions that threatened to fall from the young molly's maw, but to her credit she did her best to keep them in check. Even after the first questions spilled from her, she had the grace to look embarrassed and knew that there was heat against her cheeks. Even when it was hard to tell. " I'm sorry for all the questions. I can get a little ahead of myself sometimes," She apologized with a lowering of her ears. Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything Sagepaw's ears perked, and for a brief instant, she looked both taken aback and understanding. "Pumafang. Well, that explains a lot." The deputy was really on another level, and the blue Somali she-cat was just glad he was on their side. He was handsome, dangerously so, and from what she'd been told, all of his apprentices were put through the ringer in order to become incredible warriors. Either you were forged in his crucible or broken down into smelt. Sagepaw hoped Graypaw would be able to hold her own. She expected an apprentice younger than her to be smaller than her as well, but not this small. Still, she was growing and visibly improving in Sagepaw's opinion. As medicine cat apprentice (and frequently disallowed from bothering Falconstorm), she spent a lot of time observing her clanmates like a hunter stalking their prey from a distance.
As Graypaw explained, Sagepaw made a few "hm" noises and nodded, motioning to check out the apprentice's paws. "You might have overextended your claws in the process," she mumbled, as if she was thinking to herself. She flexed her own front left paw back and forth as she did so. "Hm. No need to apologize, just practice paying attention from now on. Your mentor will appreciate your self-discipline if you show him how well you can focus not only on him, but your surroundings too. Plus, you'll catch more prey that way!" Sagepaw beamed.
She had an idea for what could help Graypaw feel better but in the meantime, she began to gently knead on the sore areas of Graypaw's body, not using claws, but giving her a little massage to help those muscles relax. When the other she-cat asked about her job, Sagepaw couldn't keep herself from laughing sardonically. "Fun? Yeah, right." She shook her head. "It's a lot of work. A lot of care and memorization goes into it. We get to know every clanmate, even on a much more personal level than the Leader would. I mean, Lionstar's ancient, of course, and has known everybody alive since we were all acorns, but that doesn't mean he knows what's going on in everybody's heads and bodies. That's not his job, that's ours," she explained. "He's there to lead. We're here to keep you healthy." She cocked her head and raised a whiskered brow. "You apologize a lot, huh?" she asked without beating around the bush. Sagepaw didn't like wishy-washy cats, but Graypaw was nice enough. “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

Graypaw's whiskers twitched in amusement at Sagepaw's simple tone when she spoke of her mentor's name. It was no surprise to Graypaw that this was the response whenever she mentioned him. Rumors were certainly wide and far when you lived in a clan full of cats. The overall handsome and hard pressed Pumafang was known to throw every apprentice under him into tough training to ensure that they would become the best warriors that they could be. Now, of course Graypaw, had been just a little kit when she had realized that she would be getting him as a mentor. Meaning she had been oblivious to the rumors about his unorthodox training methods and had allowed herself to fall into the naive idea of being important for having the second strongest cat as her mentor. And who would have blamed her here? To be chosen as the deputy's apprentice was a feat in itself and the young kit had made herself believe that training and such was going to be an easy thing with the clan's second as her mentor. Oh, how wrong she was. This very notion was proven, the same exact day when Pumafang's name had fallen into her ears and dreams of becoming a warrior fast, was instantly dashed. Pumafang was not the type of cat to possibly favor or baby any cat and Graypaw learned this the hard way. She could remember her first training day well and that alone in itself was proof enough that becoming a warrior was not going to be an easy task. But with each passing day, and at each training lesson, Graypaw could feel herself getting stronger. Even when her feelings, of not being able to live up to her mentor's possible exceptions of her, lingered over her like a ghost of a long forgotten StarClan warrior. Her whiskers twitched slightly at the odd reference, before she was pulled out of her thoughts by Sagepaw, as she spoke. Triangular ears twitched, taking in the soft spoken words and a small heat of embarrassment flushed through Graypaw's entire body. Perhaps if she had been paying more attention, this wouldn't have happened at all. Sagepaw had mentioned that she had just overextended her claws and that explained while there seemed to be one pull of pain concentrated in one particular paw than in her leg. Still there had been no anger in the other apprentice's voice as she spoke and the embarrassment faded after a moment and was replaced by mild amusement. Sagepaw seemed to be a really nice and caring cat, not to mention she had a sense of humor. With this brief interaction with her, Graypaw, already found herself liking the Medicine Cat Apprentice and with this resolve. Only seemed to bring out a large smile on the apprentice's lips. As Sagepaw began to massage her paw, kneading the paw pads gently, her warm voice echoed softly in her ears and Graypaw listened intently at the words being spoken. In her defense, she hadn't really understood what it was like being an MCA, and had only asked because of her, as usual, curiosity of the matter. Of course she had been eager to know more about Sagepaw in general and had asked because of this fact as well but as she spoke about the topic, the more Graypaw was happier with her training as a warrior. Well, being an apprentice for a warrior and a medicine cat both sounded daunting but being a warrior sounded a lot more fun. Graypaw couldn't even imagine what it was like to care for an entire clan of cats and she was actually happy that she would never have to find out. " It sounds hard and tough", She mewed after a moment, " You must be pretty strong to have been chosen to become a medicine cat apprentice, I couldn't imagine myself doing anything like that at all" She allowed herself to trail off in her sentence at this, but her ears flicked even more as Sagepaw continued talking herself. Mentioning something about Lionstar not being able to get into other cat's heads and such like that, which in fact had Graypaw confused at what she was talking about. Before she could ask however, Sagepaw asked her a question that her letting out a small laugh in return. " So you've noticed, huh? Yes"," She responded with a twinkling of her sea green eyes, " I tend to do that a lot, its a bad habit of mine" Amusement played in her tone, simply because she hadn't believed Sagepaw was being mean when she had asked. It was a simple observation of character. " Graypaw Talking" WC: 786 | OOC: KARAZHAL - It's perfectly fine, no worries! <33 xD

Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything It felt good to be needed, to have a cat around her age hear her out and sympathize. Sagepaw was as comfortable as she would've been in her sister's presence. She hadn't thought of herself as needy before she became a medicine cat apprentice and left the life of a kit behind. It didn't seem like much, but Sagepaw already felt grateful for Graypaw's words. It was a world of difference from the way her mentor talked down to her.
"I'm glad you understand," she sighed, welcoming the way Gray told her that she must've been strong. She hoped so; there would've been no way she could've dealt with Falconstorm otherwise. Kneading on Graypaw was equally a soothing gesture for both cats. Sagepaw eased off her, reminded of the fact that the little apprentice had just been at the fresh-kill pile and probably didn't need heavy hands on her belly. "Let me know if anything still hurts, or you can go to Falconstorm if you need anything stronger for the pain."
Sagepaw drew her paw to her face and began to groom herself, licking her foreleg and bringing it across her brow and face repeatedly. "I suppose we all have our vices. Pumafang will eat you alive if you keep saying it though. Hmm, you know, maybe you should have a training session with one of his former apprentices so you know what to expect from now on," she suggested. Their deputy was an experienced mentor, and it wasn't like he ever took it easy on his apprentices anyway. Graypaw hadn't complained about him, but Sagepaw knew how difficult it was to voice what was truly on the mind when it came to one's mentor.
"Or... I mean, I guess you can come to me for advice." Sagepaw rubbed her paws together self-consciously. "If you don't mind being my friend!" “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

The longer she was in Sagepaw's company, Graypaw found herself relaxing even more. Perhaps there was just something about the other molly that made her relax? Maybe it was soft and clearly soothing voice, or maybe it had something to do with the way she was kneading her paw and taking away the pain from her previous soreness? Well whatever the reason, Graypaw's was finding herself more at ease in her company and the pain that had been stirring through her, was already beginning to fade. By the time Sagepaw had stopped, there was no pain to be felt. Still the gray apprentice remained where she was, her attention completely trained on Sagepaw, as she moved to grooming herself. As if mesmerized and fascinated by the small and clearly average thing to do, Graypaw watched her for several moments, before realizing she was staring too hard, and pulled her attention away. Clearly embarrassed but doing her best to hide it away, the apprentice's ears twitched. She nodded briefly, when Sagepaw mentioned that she should come back to her or go to Falconstorm if she desired something stronger for the pain. For the record, Sagepaw had worked a miracle on her and while she was pretty sure that the pain wouldn't come back. She probably would have went back to Sagepaw, simply because the other apprentice was much more approachable than the older medicine cat. " Thanks to you, the pain has gone away"," She mewed quite happily, " But if it returns I'll make sure to come back too you, because you seem to be much nicer than Falconstorm," Even when she knew absolutely nothing about the older medicine cat she knew that at least that was true. Sagepaw did seem much more approachable. Maybe she was judging too fast but she tried to put a light and joking tone to her words, even when she had been quite serious with what she had said. When the talk moved from pain back to her mentor, Graypaw felt her ears twitch again and sigh following the most recent words. Sagepaw, was right. She could definitely see her mentor, getting on her for apologizing as much as she did. The air around him certainly did state that desired strong apprentices over weakness of any kind, so what did that exactly say about her in the long run? Pumafang was a strong and powerful cat who deserved an apprentice...who wasn't her. Still, her need and desire to prove herself seemed to push away some of the doubts pulsing through her very being. At least for now anyway. " You're right...I'll try not to do it so much" Here she was just hoping that she could even manage this. It was hard to rid oneself of such a habit when it was just something that she did ever day without even realizing it. At Sagepaw's suggestion about possibly going to talk to Pumafang's previous apprentices or coming to ask her for help, both seemed like great ideas to the gray apprentice. She smiled and brought her attention back to the other apprentice, nodding in response. " I can do both. Both sound like a good idea, and of course! I would love to be your friend!" Sagepaw, had definitely said the right words and clearly Graypaw was very much ecstatic with having a new friend in her own clan. You could never have too many friends! Especially when Sagepaw would be her first friend in the clan. " Graypaw Talking" WC: 589 | OOC: KARAZHAL - meep XD

Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything "R-really?" Sagepaw replied, stunned that she'd actually done something with conclusive results. It was one thing to complete apprentice assignments, but another to really have helped someone. "I mean." Sagepaw shifted, straightening her back and remembering that she was a medicine cat. It was her duty to see things through, not doubt herself just because of that old windbag Falconstorm! "Of course! I am glad to hear you're feeling better." She let out a light chuckle at Graypaw's remark about Falconstorm. "You've got that right." She winked.
She hadn't meant to dishearten the poor she-cat though. Sagepaw realized that the apologies must've been a symptom of something else, something deeper, although she didn't know what it was yet. She didn't want Graypaw to think she wasn't good enough for Pumafang; she just desired to see strength and confidence root into her clanmate. If she couldn't face a cat like Pumafang within her own clan, how would Graypaw be able to confront an enemy, someone even worse than Pumafang and having no qualms in making her suffer for their own glee. Would Graypaw die apologizing in battle? Sagepaw didn't want her last words to be I'm sorry or I failed.
So, she was more than happy that Graypaw accepted her shy request. "I'm so happy. If you see Acornpaw some time, that's my sister! We can all be friends together." Sagepaw beamed. "There's a Gathering coming up. You'll get to see a bunch of different cats. They're kind of stinky but on those nights, we're allowed to be friends with them too." “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

Graypaw nodded her head for the second time, feeling the smile widen against her maw. Of course she had meant what she had said before. Having friends , was something she had been thriving for, for quite some time and Sagepaw, definitely fit what the gray apprentice was looking for in a friend. She was kind, sweet and funny. Pretty much the perfect candidate that Graypaw had always wanted when it came to befriending someone. " Of course, I would be honored if you became my friend, Sagepaw"," Graypaw purled softly, twitching her ears and returning the wink with a soft laugh. When Sagepaw spoke up about her sister, and befriending her as well, Graypaw felt her entire being fill with warmth. Acornpaw, and Sagepaw, two friends? She could hardly control her excitement at meeting the other she-cat, but did her best to hide it. The news of a Gathering coming up, only brought out more of the excitement, however. " A Gathering"?" She tilted her head to the side, as the idea of being around cats from different clans came to mind. She thought of Brightpaw, the handsome and funny tom from LightingClan. Almost immediately she felt a wash of heat come to her cheeks. Thankfully she had fur, otherwise she would have been turning completely red by this point. Maybe she would be able to see him there? Only time would tell for that, but for now she was more than happy to just spend time with Sagepaw and to get to know her. Pushing down her excitement of possibly seeing the handsome tom from another clan again she returned her entire attention back to Sagepaw. " Well, I can't wait to meet your sister, and as for the Gathering, that would be a fun experience. You know getting to meet other cats and getting to know them" Her tone clearly stated that she was excited about making more friends with other cats as well, even when they were from different clans. " Have you've been to one before"?" She asked, tilting her head to the side, " I've never been to one before...what's it like"?" Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything Sagepaw thought it was nice Graypaw was looking forward to making so many new friends. She felt the same way, too; sometimes it was a little stifling restricting herself to just TreeClanners to chat with. She got lucky by having the medicine cats for "friends" but their conversations were usually restricted to business only, not day-to-day catch-up like how she and Acornpaw were.
"Umm, well, technically yes?" she answered. "Kind of. We medicine cats go to a medicine cat Gathering; it's restricted to just every clan's medicine cat though, but it's nothing like the real one, the one with all the Clan representatives." She thought about everything her father had told her about Gatherings; he was a senior warrior so he'd been to plenty of Gatherings. They didn't impress him like they did her every time he brought them up. She was surprised neither of Graypaw's parents had told her nursery tales about what Gatherings were like, but then again, Graykit didn't seem the type to bombard the ears off her parents with questions like Sagekit.
Sagepaw wriggled in excitement, speaking as if she was telling a kit-story. "Well, we walk all the way to the river and cross it as safely as we can. Then, we show up to this big flat place that has some stump-rocks that all the Leaders sit on. The Leaders pick some of us to go with them--the strongest or the wisest warriors, and apprentices too. Since I'm a medicine cat apprentice, I have to go to every one of them, but sometimes you will stay behind and guard camp. That's an important duty because both the Leader and the deputy are out of camp. It's the most vulnerable time for our Clan; even though all the Clan Leaders are in one spot, you never know--anything can happen." Sagepaw shrugged, trying to reassure Graypaw that it would be okay if she wasn't chosen to go to the next Gathering. “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen

GRAYPAW Treeclan Apprentice Graypaw was completely fasicnated by this point. Her ears twitched soundly drinking in each and every detail that Sagepaw spoke about. The idea of the medicine cats having a meeting, a lot like a Gathering, but just with them, astonished her to no end. She could only imagine how any of that went and what the medicine cats and their apprentices did when they got there. In fact the question was on the tip of her tongue ready to be asked, but Sagepaw beat her by moving on her previous question about what it was like to being at a Gathering. " Oh wow," The small apprentice breathed with an astonished and surprised mew of glee. She had no idea they would have to cross a river to get to a Gathering. Not only that, but both the Leader, the Deputy and their Medicine cats had to be there. There was a hint of something close to worry at that news, that found itself crossing over the young apprentice's face before she could stop it. A Gathering sounded great. Wonderful in fact, but with the leader, deputy and medicine cats going away for the meeting, and she couldn't believe the thought was coming to mind, but wasn't that leaving the camp pretty much undefended? Like before, the question was on the tip of her maw, but Sagepaw, as if sensing the question, was quick to offer an answer. Not all of the warriors and apprentices got to the Gathering, which would provide the protection the camp would needed just in case, something went wrong. A breath, Graypaw, hadn't realized she'd been holding released from the back of her throat and out of her maw, in a few short gasp of breath. She let out a small nervous laugh, before twitching her tail and flicking it gently at Sagepaw's nose playfully. " Oh, wow! I thought for a second the camp would be left unattended," Another nervous laugh before she gave Sagepaw an embarrassed look. She leaned down to lick at a patch of fur on her chest, before returning her eyes back towards the other apprentice. " Either way, I wouldn't mind either. I mean going to the Gathering or staying here, but I think I'm more interested in going then staying" That was definitely true. The idea of having to defend the camp if something or someone was to attack it while the rest of the camp was at a Gathering... She shook the thought out of mind, before letting out a small sigh, " It sounds like you'd have a lot of fun going to all the Gatherings though. I wish I could be a medicine cat, it sounds very very tough though. ," She admitted after a few moments, before going silent. Sagepaw Treeclan Medicine Cat Apprentice I swam through a vast world, past my own feelings of not wanting to regret anything As Graypaw spoke, Sagepaw began to realize why she'd probably been paired up with Pumafang, of all cats, to be a mentor. The younger she-cat seemed to be quite naive, but perhaps that was just inexperience talking. After all, all of this were going to be firsts for the other apprentice while they were things Sagepaw had experienced already. It was a little crazy to think how much Sagepaw had learned in three moons; Graypaw would undoubtedly reach her level in the same amount of time. When the gray shorthair mentioned wishing she could be a medicine cat, part of Sagepaw sighed, reflecting back on her conversation with Primrosepetal and how terse her response had been. The warrior had made it seem like being a medicine cat was all roses. Graypaw, on the other hand, acknowledged that it was very tough, and that caused Sagepaw's fur to relax along her spine.
"It is," she agreed. "If you feel up to it, we could go for a walk around camp and I can point out some of our local herbs." TreeClan had the benefit of their forest providing so many things close by; Sagepaw didn't even need to step out of eyesight of camp for some medicine. "A little stroll might do your injury some good, but I know you just got back from training, so if you want to just go to the apprentice den for a nice rest, I understand." Sagepaw's ears bent backward sheepishly. "Falconstorm might be wondering where I am."
Or maybe he doesn't care at all, since I'm not in his way or bothering him. He seems to prefer not having an apprentice anyway... “I’m not giving up!” Just saying that won’t make it happen
