Description Summary: Tall and handsome, brown tom cat with amber, orange colored eyes
Personality:
+ Independent - While most cats tend to be dependent of their clan or on other cats, Coppertalon is a very independent cat. He has control of himself and allows no such influence, from living cats to fall upon his shoulders. He is the master of own destiny and fate, and can easily support himself if need be.
+ Serious - He's the type of cat that is mostly all business. He has no tolerance for ignorance let alone those who can't pull their weight in the clan and does not believe that holding back in battle will benefit anyone. He is a no nonsense type of cat and it is rare for a smile to even grace his features.
+ Wise - With age, comes wisdom and the truth be told, Coppertalon is a pretty wise cat. Having been in his clan for his sixty plus moons, he has gained experience in circumstances life has thrown at him. He learns from the mistakes, and the events of his past and tends to use that very knowledge to teach those around him.
+ Strong - Physically and mentally strong, Coppertalon has an iron clad will. He is not easily deterred from his own ambitions or his own desires and causes. He faces everything with a clear mind and trusts himself with his own mind and in turn knows who and what he is. He does not try to be something he is not and instead focuses on bettering himself.
+ Observant - Coppertalon has a knack of picking up a lot of details, in both cats and his surroundings. This is because he is observant and watches and listens to those around him. He drinks in everything that happens around him and retains the information to be used when he needs it.
+- Ambitious - This cat knows what he wants. He has always had desires and dreams to be more than what he is and thrives in getting what he wants through sheer hard work and determination. Though his ambitions are not seen by others he holds them dear to himself and pushes himself forward in wanting to achive dreams he has always wanted.
+- Religious - Like most cats of StoneClan, Coppertalon is a religious cat. His devotion to StarClan and to his clan, is something he prides himself and something that he believes is the very essence of his survival. To him, his belief is the foundation of his very personality and being and without it, he would not be who he is.
+- Unpredictable - Coppertalon's antics and motives are unclear and unknown to most, even to those who know him. Most of the time his actions are a clear mystery and can not be so easily traced and predicted.
+- Strict - A trait that is well known to those who have been mentored by him, is being strict. Coppertalon is a no-nonsense type of cat who does not tolerant any sort of disobedience from anyone. He hones his skill of mentoring to a fine point and enforces both his own, the clan's and the warrior code rules in high regard. Those who disobey are in for the worst punishment of their lives.
- Callous - Coppertalon is not the most approachable cat in StoneClan. He has a cold demenaor that prevents most cats from befriending him and tends to act highly dismissive of them and their feelings. This is especially evident in his approach to mentoring apprentices. He is insensitive to their pain and shows no regard for what they are going through, and this can also have many interpret his methods as cruel.
- Conceited - One of his more truly negative traits, Coppertalon believes that his worth is more important than others. He believes his methods are better than others, that he hunts better than others and that the clan, in itself, would be lost without him. He does not believe that others would be better off without him, and he relishes in this thought in itself.
- Deceitful - Lying and deceiving others comes natural to a tom like, Coppertalon. He does not care whether he has to throw someone under the bus (pun) to get what he wants or to influence his own self worth or power. If he has to lie and cheat to get what he wants, and if it hurts someone along the way for him to get what he desires. So be it.
- Opinionated - Since he was a kit, Coppertalon has had no problem in expressing his opinion on anything and everything. He tells you what he thinks about you, whether you like it or not and will give you his thoughts on what he believes is best for you, even when you didn't ask for his words on the topic. So deal with it.
- Not Trusting - You could be his parents, clanmate, a siblings or even his apprentice but that does not mean that Coppertalon trusts you. This cat seems to live in his own little world and in this world there is room enough for his own mind and feelings and no one else. Due to things that happened in his past, this trait has developed over the course of moons and seems to be a constant weight that plagues him each passing day. No one is to be trusted. No one.
History:
Copperkit had always been special and different from his siblings and everyone around him knew it. Goldkit and Ivorykit, his two brothers were lively, outgoing, friendly and spunky, while Copperkit kept to himself and observed the world around him with narrowed and clearly distrusting eyes. The kit was guarded and clearly did not seem to tolerant his own siblings let alone any other kit in the nursery, and while most parents would have been worried, Ryehawk and Breezestorm were not. They believed that their eldest was just shy and in response gave him the attention that they thought he needed. They doted and fawned over him, in an effort to coax him out of his shell, and in doing so unintentionally gave him more attention than his brothers. Copperkit hated this unwanted attention and his brothers became jealous because of the attention he was receiving, much to his annoyance. What was so great about a kit who didn't want to be bothered by anyone, let alone who didn't even want to give his own siblings any attention? Goldenkit and Ivorykit, choose to belittle their sibling from that day on, constantly mocking him for taking attention away from them. Something that they believed they deserved much more than he did and the rift that had started at birth between the three brothers, became a permanent mark that would never heal. And Copperkit, who had been a loner from the beginning, was fine with it.
Six moons came and went and apprentice-hood was upon Copperkit. Becoming such, seemed to fuel the young paw, and brought him slightly out of the shell that his parents had been trying to break. At least, with his mentor. Leapingstorm. The she-cat was a caring, gentle and kind cat who had just become a warrior a few moons before being given Copperkit as an apprentice. Yet she was far from inexperienced and her gentle nature seemed to grow on the overall distant Copperkit, who relished being in her company. It even came to a point that the young apprentice had developed a crush on the pretty chocolate- white tortoiseshell much to his own surprise. What kind of spell had she put on him that attracted him to her? The apprentice was unsure of his own desires for her and yet in a new coursing boldness, he told his mentor of his feelings for her. Copperpaw wasn't exactly sure of what was to come with this confession but what he wasn't prepared for, was that his mentor would outright take his feelings for her and turn them against him. The once gentle and kind she-cat was quick to twist into a manipulative and ugly being.

She whispered sweet nothings to the young apprentice, promising that the two would be together when he was older and that no one would ever love him as much as she did. She spoke of StarClan and that their union was to be blessed by their ancestors as long as he did everything that she told him to do. In his blind affection and obsession with her, Copperpaw willing devoted himself to his mentor. She twisted him him slowly; first with more guiding and following of the path towards StarClan and succeeded in putting more distance between himself and his family. The simple and twisted ploy that she fed him ; power was what made cats great. The power to rule over others, the clan and even the entire clan territories. She whispered these sweet nothings to him. Promising that he would get power, and the two would rule together. Copperpaw was intrigued by these promises and fell in step behind his mentor. The plan at that time? To kill Hawkstar and take over the clan as their own. Before that however, Copperpaw needed to become stronger.
Leapingstorm's gentle and caring persona had long since faded away, moons before. Leaving behind the harsh and ruthless monster she truly was. In training she was relentless and showed no restrain. She used claws and bloodied and bruised and tortured her apprentice, several times that almost resulted in the young apprentice's death. Ryehawk and Breezestorm were immediately concerned with their son's well-being under his mentor and even his siblings, who were not on speaking terms, also took notice of their brother's state. Several times he would come limping into camp, bleeding heavily from wounds that had obviously been caused by claws. Even more so than that, he would be rushed into camp, carried by a seemingly concerned Leapingstorm apparently near death. The family took their concern to Hawkstar, but their whispered warnings would go unheeded. To many Leapingstorm was a vibrate breath of fresh air in the clan. She was smart, intelligent and was devoted to the clan, so many had come to the conclusion that it was just Copperpaw's clumsiness and run ins with danger at the time of training that resulted in his state of appearances. Leapinstorm had everyone fooled, everyone but Copperpaw's family but even then, she still continued her ruthless training, molding her apprentice into what she wanted him to be.
Moons came and went, and with it the fleeting days of apprentice-ship. Copperpaw, earned the name, Coppertalon, in essence to his swift and powerful claws that could take down almost anything in battle. Leapingstorm was the most proud of the product that she had created, while his family looked on in silent horror at what had become of their son and brother. The distance between him and his family had grown even more so and Coppertalon found himself more in the company of his former mentor than anything. Which was exactly how Leapingstorm liked it. Most did not bat an eye at the time the two spent together but the family was behind concerned by this point. Yet, Coppertalon seemed unconcerned and unfazed by their concern and kept by his former mentor's side. The two seemed content with each other's company, as the plan to dethrone Hawkstar from the position as leader started to unfold. Yet some unfortunate news came upon the horizon; Leapingstorm was pregnant with kits and with their increased time together, it was a sure fire thing that Coppertalon was the father. At least how it had seemed at first and that's how Leapingstorm had made it believe. She told the entire clan this and while there was surprise, there was also happiness as well.
Coppertalon, much like his family, did not know how to react to the news. He had never been a father before, and had no experience with dealing with kits. But there had been something troubling him from the beginning since he had found out about Leapinstorm's pregnancy . Though, he had spent all this time with her, plotting and scheming, he had never been with her in that way. Suspicious of Leapingstorm, Coppertalon devoted some time in following the so called she-cat of his dreams. Within moons he had stumbled upon the truth. Leapingstorm had lied to him and to everyone. Not only were the kits not his, but the she-cat had been involved with another cat. A handsome tom that was not part of StoneClan or any other clan for that matter. A filthy and disgusting rogue! The worst part of the entire thing was that she had been whispering the same sweet nothings to him, as she had been doing to him. Dreams and ambitions of taking over the clan, and becoming the leader, while moving on to rule the other clans. It was disgusting and appalling to Coppertalon. More due to the fact that he had followed behind this she-cat. He had listened to her every word, and had endured that hell of training she had put him through. He had done everything that she had wanted him to do. He had been willing to go against his own leader, all in the hopes of one day becoming leader. With her leading by his side, as his mate. He had loved her as he had never loved and cared for his own family and siblings. And this she-cat...had betrayed and lied to him.
On that very day, something broke within Coppertalon and by whatever monster that had compelled him to do so, he had attacked his former mentor and her rogue lover. They had been caught off guard and he was much stronger and younger than them both. Perhaps it was irony and fate at best, because without her harsh and ruthless training, Coppertalon would never had been able to become the monster without Leapingstorm's help. Her rogue mate had been first and then, Coppertalon had whispered her own sweet nothings back in her ear, just as he thrust his fangs into her neck, ending her wretched life. It had been satisfying to watch as the life faded from her and it brought a comforting weight to the youth that had been stolen from him, when he had been an apprentice under her. Yet the damage had been done. Years of having endured her belittling, her hate, and the vile and yet sweet nothings of power had corrupted him. He could have left StoneClan, but his ambitions to gain power was still there, lingering beneath the surface. But he would have to wait. No, he would just have to place his ambitions into another.
He had found himself lingering too much on his attachment on Leapingstorm and her death certainly hadn't cleared that up. So he would have to take an apprentice and entrust this mission, to gain power to them. Moons came and the warrior grew in both power and each passing day, his ambitions only grew as well. The death of Leapingstorm died down after several moons. Grief having settled down into small aches in the clan, and no one questioned Coppertalon's account of what had happened. A badger attack, with no trace of a body to remain. Oh so sad indeed. None the less, Coppertalon moved on, and in no time, he had gotten what he wanted. An apprentice of his own, named Blackpaw. An easy apprentice that he could morph into what he wanted her to be. Like Leapingstorm before him, he would do the say thing to this apprentice and yet he would do what she couldn't do. He would make sure that Blackpaw would be successful and get the power he hadn't been able to get for himself. Power. That was all that mattered in the end.
