Name: Bluecloud
Age: 62 moons
Gender: tom
Clan: NightClan
Rank: Senior Warrior
Picture:
Description Summary: A blue-gray tom with green eyes and a white spot on his chest.
Personality:
+ Easygoing: Bluecloud is a warrior that is very easy to get along with, and despite his status as senior warrior, he maintains such a friendly and affable vibe that younger warriors would find it impossible to be intimidated by him.
+ Sociable: Bluecloud is the cat everyone becomes well-acquainted with; he has a genuine interest in his Clanmates' affairs, and is rarely seen without company. He is definitely an extrovert, energized simply by being around others.
+- Romantic: Bluecloud is very much a romantic, not just in the sense of wanting to have love for himself, but in the sense that he wears rose-tinted glasses about the world around him. He believes in the notion there is good inside everyone, and thus isn't ruffled by his Clan's haughty reputation. However, this can cloud his judgement.
- Gullible: Because of his idealistic tendencies, Bluecloud can be gullible and short-sighted when it comes to the intentions of others. He's easily tricked and easily influenced, and he's seemingly indecisive about what he really believes in because of it.
- Indecisive: With his constantly changing views and being more gullible than most, Bluecloud comes off as indecisive and inconsistent. He wants to please everyone, but doesn't quite understand he can't, and that he shouldn't - he should decide his views and personal moral code for himself.
History:
Bluekit was born the youngest in a litter of two. Both his parents are still alive and in the elders' den. He was a curious kit, but not disobedient, and almost never got into trouble. When he became an apprentice, Bluepaw was an enthusiastic learner and put his mentor up on a pedestal. It's possible his mentor had strong views, and found him particularly impressionable, and took the opportunity to make him even more easily influenced. Though he was a fine hunter and tracker, he lacked in his fighting skills, and most of the last moons of his training was focused on making him at least an acceptable fighter. By the time he became a warrior, Bluecloud was well-liked within the Clan for his personality alone.
Moons passed, and eventually he was granted an apprentice of his own - Cloverpaw. Though initially nervous, he was also excited to train a NightClan warrior himself, and relished the opportunity. His enthusiasm did not last long, however; he quickly learned Cloverpaw was a ruthless, unfeeling young she-cat, and he had never encountered anyone like her before. She persistently undermined his authority during training sessions and, wanting to please her, he allowed her to decide what they'd be doing for the day. When she began to mock him and slyly point out his weaknesses while training, he began to attempt to discipline her. But she refused to complete chores he assigned to her, and pointedly did something else productive for the Clan. To make things worse, he realized she only acted out around him, and was perfectly polite and civil with the rest of her Clanmates. She even praised him as a mentor in front of them, making him feel appreciated oh-so-briefly, before she ruined it in their next training session alone.
After this went on for a couple of moons, Bluecloud was reaching his wit's end. She was impossible to satisfy, impossible to discipline, and he was convinced she wasn't a normal cat in the slightest. He tried everything with her - threats that he'd make sure she'd never become a warrior, cuffs around the ears, and even threats he'd claw her ears off if she didn't listen to him. Finally, in an uncharacteristic show of aggression, he threw himself at her one day and pinned her to the ground. To his shock, she looked terrified, desperately trying to release his hold on her, pleading with him to stop, tearfully promising she'd do better... and he clambered off her. Immediately, she burst into laughter, mocking him, making it clear that she had only been pretending to be afraid of him, and that she never would be intimidated by him.
This was the last straw. She'd broken Bluecloud. He gave up after that, going along with whatever she wanted to do, and ignoring her barbed comments. When he refused to react to anything she said or did, she lost interest in him. He received chilling indifference from her instead, a kind of icy emptiness he didn't like at all. She didn't speak to him, and simply ignored him instead, though told Clanmates that he'd sent her to go out hunting or some other order she'd made up. Bluecloud had lost all part in her mentorship.
A few days passed, and one evening he found Cloverpaw waiting for him when he left the warriors' den, looking well-groomed. She asked him politely if he'd take her out for battle training, and he agreed, faintly surprised when she allowed him to take the lead out of camp and to the training grounds. He was even more surprised when she asked him to continue to take the lead, and the pair of them had their first successful training session in which she actually listened to him. Certain this was another trick, he was still wary of her, even after she thanked him for the training session. The wariness quickly faded, however, as Cloverpaw's improved behavior continued throughout the rest of the moon, and the moons after that. She became a perfect apprentice overnight, and when he asked what brought the change on, she blinked at him in polite confusion. "What do you mean?" He didn't respond, and allowed her to have this; her last trick, making him think he'd imagined the way she'd behaved all those moons before.
Sometimes, even after she became a warrior, she watched him intently and almost uncomfortably so, and he never figured out why - since she has maintained a close relationship with him. Unbeknownst to him, Clovermask used Bluecloud's personality and his easy friendliness and likability with others to adapt to her own personality. Though her mimicry of a likable cat lacks sincerity, he can tell that she's trying, and believes deep down that there is good inside her, and she is trying her best to become good.
In the moons that passed since Clovermask became a warrior, he became more relaxed and certain of himself, and has had one or two more apprentices since then. Both apprenticeships went over very well, reminding Bluecloud that his first apprentice hadn't been normal at all. He is still one of the very few cats that seems to see Clovermask differently, but it doesn't mean he's invulnerable to her manipulative ways, and still finds himself impressionable by her - and anyone else with wayward intentions, for that matter.
