Song of Settling Dust
With a stretch, rippling muscles along a lithe frame were moved and then replaced as the slender cat unwound herself from her sleeping position.
With no word from her guide, as far as she was concerned, Dust had very little to do.
She could go and see the elders, go and relax with her parents, or go for a walk. She'd be safe, regardless. The Cave Guards would see to that.
Looking out of the entrance to the cave, she realised she'd been sleeping for a good long while, as the sun was making its way to be high in the sky. Flicking her ear lazily, she padded out of the entrance, nodding to the Cave-Guard who was a stoic mountain just outside the entrance. Moving a short distance away, she noticed the tunnel that led to the hidden meadow. She'd never been down there before.
A burning curiosity overtook her, she needed to see what was at the other end of that tunnel.
So she did what was natural to her.
She acted as if she had a very legitimate reason to be going that way, the excuse of going to meet her guide who was already there on her maw in case she was stopped. She needn't have bothered, no cat paid attention to the small to-be as she slipped through the tunnel, trying to ignore how tight it became in certain places (thank goodness she was small).
And she'd made it, to be greeted by one of the most beautiful sights that she'd ever seen. And she lived in the mountains. The views were breathtaking.
Pulling herself into a sitting position, Dust waited. For anything to happen.
