Owlmind
LightningClan || 75 Moons || Deputy
It was still early, though nearly as so when the aging feline had crawled from the warmth of her nest within the middle of the Warrior's Den. She had stretched, grateful that the warmer weather no longer caused an ache within her shoulder, and groomed her thin gray coat before slipped from the burrow altogether.
Usually she was greeted with the bleak grayness of the morning sky, but today it seemed as if they sun decided to rise over the valley walls with the old molly. Streaks of orange broke across the paleing darkness and the ever present wind brought a well deserved warmth with it.
As per Deputy duties, the lanky Oriental perched herself near the entrance of her brother, Redstar's den to assign tasks for the day. The dawn patrol stirred not long after she did, one of the newer apprentices dragging behind the older Lightningclanners as sleep still ate at their growing paws. It reminded her of the day she had planned for her own, fresh apprentice who still slept soundly for the time being.
By the time Owlmind had finished with her more pressing matters at paw, including speaking to her chosen border spies, the sun was still making it's journey towards the highest point of the blue sky. Rising the small, nimble paws she made her way towards the den that help several of the youngsters of the clan within it's protective walls.
"Maplepaw." Owlmind's tone was a sharp rasp, a well noted sound among the older cats of the clan. The younger she-cat was a daughter of Sunnyheart, and one of three young and cheerful apprentices gifted to the clan at the turn of the season. The dilute deputy had spend some time with the kits when they still stayed close to their mother's warm belly before searching for mentors she believed to be a perfect fit.
As a cat who loved to mentor, who was a teacher among her clanmates and enjoyed molding the minds of the upcoming youth, she took great pride in finding the warriors to aid the youngers; journeys into warriorhood.
It just so happened that Owlmind saw a connection within the young Maplekit's personality, and so she offered to take the small calico under her wing. The lanky she-cat's last apprentice had been young Lightningstripe and since her change from apprentice to warrior, the deputy had missed the interaction of training another.
There was a bit of irony in the situation if one looked at it in such, as Sunnyheart was the current mentor of Goldenpaw, Owlmind's oldest daughter.
Wide, unreadable amber pools watched as Maplepaw pulled herself from the apprentice's den, the elder she-cat's long tail flicking somewhat behind her. "Newleaf is an excellent time to begin your training, prey will be plenty and the weather will be comfortable." Owlmind rasped as she watched the youngster with a natural observance.
"Come, we'll take a tour of the moors today."

Wisdom. Courage. Strategy.
