Appearance
It is a common occurrence for cats to say that Whitehawk is quite the handsome cat. With long legs, a muscular torso, and a slightly rounded face, he has been a target of affection a few times in his life. A large portion of his muscle, which makes him look bigger than he already was, has come from his love of climbing the many boulders and more dangerous ridges that make up Stoneclan’s territory.
The first feature many see is his pure white coat which blends in with the snow, covering him with varying lengths of protection against the cold. His overall body is made of primarily medium-length fur, though his face and legs often suffer with shorter fur. His fur stands out, but it is his face that often catches attention, more specifically his eyes. While his right eye is somewhat wide and is a pretty mix of green and yellow, his left eye is missing, white fur having grown around it and making it merely a small pinkish patch where his eye once was. No one knows if he actually has an eye underneath or if it is completely missing, but he refuses to ever try opening it again.
Besides that major feature, more on the smaller side is his light pink nose, pink pawpads that rest under large paws, and his rather long white whiskers.

Personality
+ Dedicated + Understanding + Selfless + Dutiful | - Anxious - Overbearing - Strict - Paranoid |
Known by his friends as a shy but lovable guy, Whitehawk has proven himself many times to be a reliable friend and someone to count on. With his dedication to his duties as a Warrior, as well as his constant lookout for those he cares about, this tom is hardly ever seen casually taking it easy. Very rarely do those big paws stop moving, for he is admittedly a bit of a workaholic and often finds he doesn’t like to sit still. When he isn’t out patrolling or hunting, he is often found spending time with those closest to him, such as his sister and his previous Apprentices. He tries his best to ensure that those around him are in good health and don’t need any sort of help with anything, but, something that many around him find rather cute, Whitehawk has one particular field he stumbles and fumbles his way through: women. There are times when he struggles to accept compliments from others, but when it comes to she-cats, that is a whole different scenario than any other time. How does he know the difference between flirting and simply complimenting? How does he comfort them when they are stressed, or accept comfort from them if the circumstances are switched? If he ever did wish to maybe look for a mate, how would he go about it? If he became a mate, what sort of mate would he be? So many questions and so few answers. She-cats are such mystical creatures.
While Whitehawk is a good and genuine guy, there are times when even he takes conflict with his own actions, specifically when he is trying too hard to be a good guy. He greatly cares for those closest to him and has proven that he would protect them at any cost in the past, but this sort of compassion extends beyond just those he cares for. Family members, friends, Apprentices, other Warriors, disagreeable clanmates, non-clanmates, non-clan cats. No one is excluded from this tom’s range of reach when it comes to acts of bravery or matters of the mind. While this might sound like a good quality, in the grand scheme of things this sort of thing becomes more of a flaw than he personally wishes it did. When it comes to stressful situations or danger, he often puts those around him before himself, even if they aren’t someone that deserves or should be given his attention. A cat could scream at him, insult him, even attack him, but if he found that this same cat was looking death in the eye, he would still shove them out of the way. There is just something about death, specifically of other cats, that unsettles and disturbs this tom beyond his control. Sure, a cat could do bad things or earn a horrible reputation, but everyone started somewhere. Everyone has family, everyone has someone who cares for them. And if he simply allowed someone else to die on his watch when he could have prevented it, he would never allow himself or those who cared for them to forgive him. He would carry that burden with him to his grave.
You would think that this sort of attitude would stop here, but alas, such is not the case. As if that wasn’t enough already, there’s a side to himself that he tries his best not to show, but there are times when this fails, especially when it comes to those he holds dear. Whitehawk tends to be a bit...pushy...and honestly a bit bossy. This face of command often shows its face when it comes to matters he himself finds the most concerning or in need of constant attention, such as safety or injury/sickness. Having multiple pairs of eyes on any kits within the clan at all times, never leaving an Apprentice to wander by themself, making sure that someone who is injured stays in the Medicine Cat den for as long as possible until they are fully healed. While these things are actions that should already be taken anyway, this tom tends to overdo them a bit, sometimes to the point of annoyance. And while others might see it as overbearing or strict, he sees it as needed precaution. No matter how well you know the land you live in, it is never 100% certain of what could happen. To others, this side of him can be seen as domineering, but internally this attitude comes from a place of great anxiety and doubt. Overthinking is practically a mastered hobby of his by this point, for it is almost a constant movement within his mind. Will those newly-appointed Apprentices come back to camp safely? Will that first-time mother keep her kits healthy enough to become Apprentices? If that Elder goes for a walk, who would help them if they fell or started having difficulties and no one was there? It has been raining lately; any cat older or younger than a certain bracket should stay in camp just in case the tree roots and soil are too loose and might fall over. Now these aren’t necessarily scenarios that he would voice out loud in the moment, but even if he doesn’t voice them or chime in with such suggestions, he will often take it upon himself to keep an eye on it or go out himself. Whether this sort of thing is seen as him finding others untrustworthy or just his own brain fabricating the worst of all situations, that depends on who you ask.

History
Pre-Birth | Snowsong and Frostwing, a pairing that no one had ever expected would end up having kits. The two had been rivals their whole lives, ever since they first became Apprentices; They were always trying to outdo one another, arguing constantly. When they became Warriors, their rivalry still remained, but everyone started to notice a difference with it. Previously they had avoided one another like the plague, for if they were close they would argue and fight. But once they got older they started doing stuff together, though it was still constant arguing and competition. When Snowsong ended up pregnant, Frostwing would occasionally brag that she couldn't resist his charm anymore, to which he would earn a paw across the face. Snowsong never told anyone that the kits were his, but everybody knew.
- Snowsong and Frostwing grow up together as rivals.
- They grow closer in their Warriorhood and many suspect that they are mates, but they never confirm or deny this.
- Snowsong becomes pregnant - never says that the kits are his directly, but is also bad at hiding it.
Kithood | When she gave birth, there were three little kits, a healthy she-cat, a healthy tom, and a sickly and quite small she-cat. Snowsong chose to name them Lakekit, Whitekit, and Mousekit. Just as she and most others expected, Mousekit, the sickly runt, didn't survive, but she still held a deep love for the little one. Snowsong was the primary parent, Frostwing only coming around to help or just visit every once in a while, so the remaining two kits developed a deep bond with their mom and with each other. She had taught them all about the Warrior code from a young age, which of course inspired them both to want to become some of the best Warriors in Stoneclan. They were practicing their fighting techniques and hunting strategies together before they were even allowed to explore camp further than the Nursery.
- Three kits are born: Lakekit, Whitekit, and Mousekit.
- Mousekit, the runt, dies due to sickness and small size.
- Snowsong acts as the primary parent, Frostwing visiting on occasion.
- Lakekit and Whitekit grow close to each other and their mother and practice play-training together frequently before they reach 6 moons.
Apprenticeship | Finally, the two were brought forth as Whitepaw and Lakepaw. Given to a sibling-pair of mentors, the two of them got to train together all the time, solidifying the relationship between them. This relationship would soon come in handy when their mother's dead body was discovered near the border. The patrol that found her scented a hawk, if not two, around her body and found many fallen feathers. Whitepaw and Lakepaw had been out training with their mentors when it happened, and they returned to camp to find Frostwing in the center of camp next to their mother's body. Both Apprentices were horrified. Right before they had left for their training, they were nuzzling Snowsong and telling her about everything they were learning, only to return to camp to find this. Even worse, Frostwing was never a cat to show when things got to him, but he was devastated. They weren't as close with their father, but that night the three of them sat in the middle of camp around her body, mourning together as a family.
Even though their mother's passing had done a number on them, they continued on their training for her. As they reached 11 moons, they had become closer to their father and we're just about ready to become Warriors. Unknown to them, they would become Warriors sooner than they thought, but at a price.
The two were sent out into the territory for a big test. They did a mixture of patrolling and hunting unknowingly right near where their mother had been found. It was in this spot that both of them changed once again. They had separated. Not very far, but they went a somewhat decent distance from each other to cover more ground. Suddenly, Whitepaw heard his sister screaming. He rushed to where he heard it and watched horrified as Lakepaw, who had always been smaller than him, get raised into the sky at the claws of a large hawk. Luckily, she managed to reach up and claw at the bird's leg, causing it to drop her. There was a somewhat loud crack as she landed, one of her front legs breaking as she landed on it. The bird was stunned for a moment by the pain in its leg, but this only made it more angry. The bird shot down towards her quickly, making Lakepaw believe that this was where she would end. But Whitepaw shot forward, jumping in between the hawk and his sister. He managed to hook his claws into the bird's wings, but this happened at the same moment that the bird dug one of its clawed feet into the left side of his face. Both sparred in pain for a short amount of time when the two mentors came shooting through the brush, both attacking the bird from both sides. Seeing it was outnumbered, it let Whitepaw go. The bird wasn't killed, but it got away with a lot of damage done to its wings and likely wouldn't last long.
Whitepaw and Lakepaw were taken back to camp and immediately to the Medicine Cat. Both of them were forced to stay in the den to heal, yet throughout the time they spent there, Whitepaw never allowed Lakepaw to see his face while getting treated. She already felt bad enough that his injuries had been received while saving her; he didn’t want her to feel worse. When both of them were treated well enough that Lakepaw could sort of walk again and Whitepaw’s pain wasn’t as awful, a ceremony was called. The two of them were called forward. Surprising to them, they were both turned into Warriors. Lakepaw became a Warrior because of her bravery to face the hawk when it came after her, even though this act was what got her hurt in the first place, and she was given the name Lakegaze. Whitepaw was promoted because of his own bravery and courage to jump between an angry hawk and a clanmate, losing half of his sight due to it, and was given the name Whitehawk.
- Lakekit and Whitekit become Apprentices and are given to a pair of sibling Warriors as mentors. They train together often.
- Snowsong's body is found near the territory border surrounded by feathers. It is presumed that she was killed by a pair of hawks. Whitepaw, Lakepaw, and Frostwing mourn together for her.
- During a joined-assessment in their final moons, Whitepaw and Lakepaw split up to cover ground.
- Lakepaw is heard screaming. Whitepaw finds her being attacked and carried off by a hawk, but she manages to escape mid-air. She falls to the ground and breaks a leg. The hawk flies for her again, but Whitepaw jumps in the way, losing an eye.
- Their mentors rush to the rescue and chase off the hawk, then carrying the Apprentices back to camp.
- They both stay in the Medicine den to heal, and when they are well enough to leave the den, a ceremony is called to promote them both. Lakepaw is renamed Lakegaze and Whitepaw is renamed Whitehawk.
Warriorhood | Both of them had done their vigil next to the Medicine Cat den, but weren’t able to leave it the next morning. They both still had healing to do. Eventually, they were finally given permission to go about the normal duties of a Warrior. Lakegaze was a bit more adjusted to her injured leg and was able to sort of run, though couldn’t do so for very long. Whitehawk still had a lot of adjusting to do, though. Unable to see half of what he used to, it took a bit of time to get his environment-awareness back, so he would often bump into trees or other cats on accident if they were in his blind spot. One of those times, he had bumped into one of the more flirtatious she-cats of the clan, Mistjump. This was when the white tom began to get some very unwanted attention from she-cats. There were only a few she-cats that were consistent with their flirting, but each of them gave him different reasons as to why. One said that his injury made him look handsome, one said that if he was willing to jump in front of one she-cat to save her then he would be willing to do it again if it ever happened. Mistjump was the one that was the most forward, though, being the first and only she-cat to straight up offer him a “good time” and “a pretty family-starter”. This was where he drew the line, rejecting her completely and telling her to leave him alone.
After this, the attention wore down and Mistjump left him be. But he developed the shyness towards she-cats that he now has during that time. Since then, he has adjusted to his life as a half-blind Warrior. He was given an Apprentice at 25 moons, a young tom named Whitepaw. This Apprentice was very...interesting, to say the least. He had been an oddity in the clan for most of his life, for he had these weird attacks and times when he would seem to be going insane. Yet he would be fine the next day. Whitehawk, at the beginning, questioned why exactly Hawkstar gave this tom to a cat who was also anxious and only had one eye. This became a more prominent question when his Apprentice was one day brought back to camp with many injuries. After saying that he had been attacked by an eagle, Whitehawk felt his own anxiety kick in, automatically believing that it was his fault because he had not been there to help. For a short period of time, Whitehawk kept to himself and attempted to avoid Whitepaw, minus a few visits to see how he was doing. But once Whitepaw was better enough to train, Lakegaze pushed Whitehawk forward to continue the training. It was a struggle and it took a long time, but he and Whitepaw had come a long way. The two of them had formed a bond during that time, and Whitehawk was proud to say that after 6 moons, plus 4 additional ones, he got to watch his Apprentice become a Warrior, Whitecry.
A couple of moons later at the age of 43 moons, Whitehawk was given the honor of becoming the mentor of a new Apprentice named Tigerpaw. The first couple of moons of this mentorship was a bit rocky, much like his first. Not that he held this against the little tom, but Tigerpaw, at the start, was a clumsy little fellow with the same sort of unsteady paws and mental stability as any other newly appointed Apprentice. It was not Tigerpaw’s doing that caused the rocky start, but rather the combination of bad timing and Whitehawk’s own lack of focus. The first few moons of Tigerpaw’s training was during the same period of time in which a large storm caused a grand mudslide to claim the lives of Smokestar, as well as multiple other clanmates. To add to this pressure, Whitehawk was still recovering from the loss of his father, who had passed from old age as an Elder. This combination did make things difficult, but Whitehawk and Tigerpaw pushed through this, and before long the two had a bond that the white tom cherished. He taught Tigerpaw as much as he could, and in return he too learned things from the orange and white Apprentice, which is something that Whitehawk loved about their relationship. Towards the end, the two did end up taking a couple extra moons to help Tigerpaw improve in specific areas of his training, as well as make up for the lost time and practice during the first few moons. And, much to his own pride and honor, he watched as Tigerpaw was promoted to a Warrior and given the name Tigerblaze.
He hadn’t quite expected it, but only a few moons after the promotion of Tigerblaze, Whitehawk found that his name was once more called during an Apprentice ceremony. Only this time he found that this new Apprentice was a very special circumstance. Wisteriakit, or -paw rather, was a small white she-cat who resembled himself (simply coincidental) greatly, and, in addition, she was born completely blind. There was no question that Whitehawk was honored to be given another Apprentice so soon after releasing his previous student, but the start of this mentorship was even rockier than either of the other two. To start, the tom silently held onto the assumption that he had been given an Apprentice so quickly, and specifically this one, because he was one of the few who could partially relate to this Apprentice and her disability. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing per say, but he did temporarily wonder if he was given her as an Apprentice for that reason rather than being the first choice as a teacher. And in the middle of all of this questioning, he found that their complications together ranged further than just his own doubts. Wisteriapaw was a very reserved little she-cat who felt the need to push others away, keep others out, stay independent. From an outside point of view, it seemed that she had grown to believe that the only cat she could trust or rely on was herself, and if anyone offered her kindness or help, she saw it as pity or possibly manipulation. As someone who cares deeply about forming bonds with others and ensuring their well-being, as well as loving the role of a teacher, this sort of reaction to becoming his Apprentice was extremely difficult for him. This exchange peaked very early on, within a few days actually, which he isn’t proud of honestly. If Wisteriapaw could not accept that she would need extra help due to her disability and would not let him help her the way he felt she needed, then what was he to do? Neither wanted to compromise. So, against his own better judgement, he confronted her, and after a somewhat heated discussion, the two chose to remain Apprentice and mentor. There was tension for quite a long time between them, and while they did begin to grow closer, there was always something that stopped them from truly connecting as much as he wished. Thankfully, eventually they did, but not through great circumstances. The earthquake hit the valley. Whitehawk had initially sent Wisteriapaw to the front of the pack in the evacuation, knowing she would need help to escape. But, as he fell to the very back in order to save a clanmate, Orioleflight, he found that rather than retreat or stay close to her family, his blind Apprentice had also fallen back to seek out his presence. He was both panicked and touched by this, and, as the clan fled to the Tribe in the mountains, he carried Orioleflight on his back and Wisteriapaw in his mouth.
During their time in the Tribe he found that Wisteriapaw had suddenly found him to be one of the few cats she sought comfort and companionship from, the fear and panic of the earthquake bringing her to this realization. While he did what he could to perform as many duties as he could for everyone who now sheltered within the Tribe, he helped Wisteriapaw begin to find her own confidence and methods of helping in her own way.
With the earthquake now passed and the clans beginning to seek departure from the Tribe, Whitehawk still holds his duties to the clans and his mentorship and relationship with Wisteriapaw as his highest priorities.
- Spends 13 moons learning to adjust to his new lack of half of his sight. During this time, he receives a lot of unwanted attention from she-cats with this new big scar and a reputation for his act of bravery. It is in this time that his difficulties with interaction with females began, and eventually he expressed his extreme discomfort, which relieved him of the pressure for a while.
- Is given his very first Apprentice at 25 moons, a tom named Whitepaw. The two have an extremely difficult training period due to both inexperience as a mentor and due to some very hard-to-control health issues that Whitepaw was born with. It took 4 additional moons and a lot of time and effort, but eventually Whitepaw had grown in talent and control and was promoted to a Warrior under the name Whitecry.
- 6 moons later, he is given a new Apprentice, a clumsy and somewhat shy tom named Tigerpaw. Around the same time, Frostwing passed away from old age, and, not too long after, the large mudslide that claimed the lives of Smokestar and other clanmates occured. These things caused a setback in Tigerpaw’s training, but they recovered from this period together and grew quite close. Tigerpaw trained for an extra 3 moons to hone his skills and make up for lost time, and after this period, he was promoted to a Warrior under the name Tigerblaze.
- Only 2 or 3 moons later, Whitehawk is given yet another Apprentice, a small blind she-cat named Wisteriapaw. He is chosen likely for his ability to relate more to her blindness than any of their clanmates. The beginning is very complicated for the two due to conflicts in personalities, but they do remain a mentor and Apprentice pair after. They train together with a lot of tension for quite a while, only growing a little bit closer for a long time.
- In the event of the earthquake, he falls to the very back of the evacuation to save a clanmate, Orioleflight, from falling into the growing chasm in the earth. At the same time, Wisteriapaw finds herself lost from the clan and manages to find him and Oriole. With Orioleflight on his back and Wisteriapaw in his mouth, Whitehawk followed behind the clan and made it safely to the Tribe.
- During the clans’ time in the Tribe, Whitehawk goes out of his way to help all of the clans and the Tribe in any way he can. He also takes this time to bond more with Wisteriapaw and try to find ways for her to help as well.
