Redstar, a name the newly minted leader would take time to get used to, had just returned from the Moon Tree. Firesky had surrendered the remainder of her lives, and he had been granted 9 of his own. It was honestly a surreal experience that had left Redstar shell-shocked, and had happened so quickly he hardly had time to process the gravity of the situation.

The hasty nature of the transition was yet to slow however as the journey to the Moon Tree had given Redstar plenty of time to ponder his options for deputy. The candidate he planned to select was an easier choice than it probably should have been, however this didn't make him any less confident in his decision.

Wasting little time Redstar made a b-line for the hill upon entering the camp, his paws treading the same path that many leaders had walked before him, and gave a familiar call. "All cat's old enough to catch their own prey, gather around!" After giving his clan enough time to assemble Redstar launched into his hastily prepared announcement.

"As you know I have been tasked with leading this great clan, something I cannot do alone." Redstar clearly had the attention of his clanmates, their ears perking as they hadn't expected this announcement so soon. "I say these words before StarClan so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve my choice." Shifting his gaze to meet that of his sister he continued. "The new deputy of LightningClan is Owlmind."

The lanky gray feline had been awaiting the arrival of her brother, soon to arrive back from the Moon Tree with his new name and nine lives. Firestar-, no Firesky would be returning to the Elder's Den, no longer the leader and the helm of Lightningclan as she stepped down, even relinquishing the remainder of her own nine lives.

The senior warrior lay outside the nursery, wide amber gaze shifting between the entrance to Lightningclan's camp and her three kits. Goldenkit and Goosekit were rolling around playfully within the dirt while Greenkit, the youngest, lay content at her mother's flank, playing with a leaf. 

It happened suddenly, but the large form of her long coated, red brother swiftly made his way into camp and towards the center to call the clan together. Lifting herself to her haunches in a sitting position, Owlmind flicked her tail quickly to call her kits to her side, each one sitting similarly to the mother in a line.

She had been curious as to who Redstar would choose as his deputy, as his second in command. Owlmind found herself yearning for the position, something she had never really considered when she was younger. The intuitional she-cat believed that she and her brother could bring a new era to Lightningclan. She already loved to mold the minds and bodies of future warriors, to aid mold the clan to a powerhouse would be right up her alley.

And just like that, her brother rang out the name of his deputy.

Owlmind.

Wide amber eyes held her brother's gaze for a moment before she stood up and dipped her head, pleased with his choice. Lifting her head again, those ever calm and unreadable pools looked out over the rest of the clan as they turned their heads to gaze at her near the nursery. Owlmind could even see three pairs of wide green eyes upon her from the kits by her side. 

"Thank you Redstar, I promise to serve you and Lightningclan faithfully to the best of my abilities." Her all too familar rasp sounded, sharp and confidant as she stated from her new position within the clan. Already she had ideas and plans to speak to her brother about, the future of the cats among the moors was in their paws and it was time for a change within the valley. 

The time of Lightningclan was now.
