Lilyfrost
Awakening from a deep sleep on a flat rock heated by the last of the sun's ray's. Lilyfrost stretched out her lithe gray form and glanced at the recently upturned earth that marked the grave of her mate's father Blackwolf, buried beside Ghostlight so they may be reunited in Starclan. She had sat vigil for a while after the death of her own mother and now had once more decided that, in order to honour the old tom, grumpy as he was that she would sit vigil for him as well. Blackwolf was a pillar in their family, a gruff but always there in time of need companion to Lilyfrost herself, a motivator to Bonetail and an idol to his three grandkit's, Crowflame, Graywolf and Ghostshadow.
She was not sure what he was to Coyoteheart or even Hollystorm, despite her loyalty to the latter and indifference of the former, they had never discussed their father with her so she could only know what Bonetail told her and what she observed for herself. These observations told her that all the member's of her extended family had some sort of respect for the battle torn old tom, a mutual trust that ensured that familial loyalty continued down the line for generations to come.
" You were right you know, we all have our struggles" She spoke to his grave as if the black tom was before her and gave a watery-eyed chuckled when she imagined his gruff response of " No really mouse brain I had no idea I was right". " Mine is going to be how am I supposed to keep my kit's from murdering all of Treeclan, not that the flying pests don't deserve it.. Just I don't want them punished for doing something they can't take back." She added, feeling a little helpless for the first time in her life, ever since she had become Bonetail's mate she had tried to confide in Blackwolf, get the advice from him that her own father never gave. While insufferable and at times harsh, his advice had strengthened her bonds with other members of his family.
