Name: Pigeonpaw
Age: 6 moons
Gender: She-cat
Clan: NightClan
Rank: Apprentice
Description Summary: Silver tabby she-cat with big yellow eyes.
Personality:
+ Kind
+ Curious
+ Genuine
- Naive
- Forgetful
- Easily Discouraged
Because she never really had to think or fend for herself as a kit, Pigeonpaw is very dependent on others for everything from her basic needs to emotional support. She is also naive, blindly trusting any cat who speaks with a kind tone of voice.
On the bright side, Pigeonpaw's coddled upbringing has left her without a bitter bone in her body. She is incredibly sweet and genuinely kind, always trying to perk up cats who seem tired or downtrodden. Her mother's constant praise has led her to believe that she is instantly going to be the best at anything she does, so expect her to become easily discouraged when her training sessions do not go 100% smoothly.
Another one of her most valuable traits is her curiosity. She loves to ask questions and learn more about the world around her. At the same time, a lot of the information she takes in falls right back out - she's awfully forgetful and easily distracted. Her long-term memory is far better than her short-term memory. She may forget a fighting move she just learned because she saw a pretty bird fly by, but will remember a trivial conversation she overheard 3 moons ago between two queens in the nursery word for word.
History: Pigeonkit was born at the end of greenleaf to Dovestripe, a queen who entered the nursery the moment she knew that she was expecting kits, along with her brother, Bleak-kit. A curious kit, Pigeonkit was always asking her mother questions.
"What's a pigeon, mama?"
"A beautiful bird with shining silver feathers - it looks very much like a dove, little bird."
The little kit turned to her brother, curled up fast asleep beside her.
"What's a bleak?"
"A fish."
"Oh, ok! What's a fish again?"
Growing up in the nursery, Pigeonkit never noticed that her mother treated her and her brother...differently. After all, they played together, drank the same milk, and slept side by side against their mother's fur every night - they were exactly the same! Sure, Bleak-kit got punished more, but that was just because he was back-talking. Right?
The morning of their apprentice ceremony, Dovestripe groomed her daughter's fur until every fur was in place and her black stripes sparkled in the sun. "I'm so proud of you, little bird," Pigeonkit soaked up her mother's praise like it was warmth from the sun. But out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Bleak-kit struggling to smooth the fur on his back. Ducking away from her mother's tongue, she swooped to her brother's side to help.
"No, stop! I got it!"
The little tom-kit lashed his tail and stepped away, much to Pigeonkit's confusion. After flashing him a scolding glance, Dovestripe bent down to give Pigeonkit's shoulder a comforting lick.
"With an attitude like that, your brother's future looks awfully bleak."
"I thought a bleak was a kinda fish?"
"Yes little bird, it is."

If it isn't clear from the narrative history, Pigeonpaw and Bleakpaw have a Golden Child/Scapegoat relationship. Pigeonpaw was rewarded by Dovestripe for the smallest deed, and Bleakpaw was punished for the slightest misstep. Dovestripe sees Pigeonpaw as an extension of herself, hence the similar name - but because her son does not resemble her, she has practically discarded him. As a result, Bleakpaw develops an independent and guarded personality, while Pigeonpaw becomes very dependent on praise.

Description: With a soft, round face and big yellow eyes, Pigeonpaw looks younger than she really is, even though she's an average size. She inherited her silver tabby pelt from her mother, Dovestripe. The black stripes that swirl through her fur sharply contrast the light silver shade underneath. The last word her clanmates would use to describe her would be "intimidating". They'd probably opt instead for words like cute, sweet, and harmless.
She's a bit chubbier than the average apprentice right now, but she may lose some of that extra weight as she trains. Her lips always appear to be curled up in a slight smile, and her sunny demeanor is often contagious.
