Graywolf
NightClan She-Cat 15 Moons
Clouds billowed in front the gray she-cat's nose with each breath, fierce emerald pools blazing like an intense fire as she quickly ran over each possible attack point while staring down her massive opponent. She could just as easily feel the cold of the tabby's frosted gaze piercing through her feathered pelt.
So far, her usual swift attempts and maneuvers were not fairing well against the powerful Treeclanner that practically towered over the lither Nightclan warrioress. It wasn't often that larger cats also possessed speed, but Timberfrost seemed to hold her abilities in near equal balance.
Despite her quick movements, Graywolf was clearly the quicker of the two she-cats.
Probably not choosing the best plan of action, the quick tempered feline shot forwards, once against sending out a flurry of white powder up into the cool air. Each quick breath in and out cause a twinge of pain in her ribs where earlier Timberfrost had practically attempted to snap her in half by slamming into her.
Frustration fueling actions, Graywolf ducked under a massive paw, claws swiping at the air where her gray muzzle had been only a second before. In the same movement, the slender Nightclanner dug her own claws into the cool snow, slinging into the frozen blue gaze of her larger rival.
Which of course earned Graywolf a chest rumbling snarl from Timberfrost as the massive tabby reeled backwards, both the white powdered snow and blood seeping into her gaze.
Using this moment, the smaller she-cat launched herself onto the flank of Timberfrost, curling her claws into the dense, dark pelt of the Treeclanner to hold on. Though for all her trouble, she ended up getting the breath driven from her body once more.
Dropping to a quick roll, Timberfrost's larger form squished Graywolf underneath her. A fleeting feeling of suffocation shot through the gray feline's mind as her lungs screamed for a moment before the tabby's weight receded as she pulled away to shake her head, clearing her vision of red tinted snow.
Sucking in a cold breath of air, Graywolf jumped to her feet and whipped around, preparing to launch a flurry of paws at her rival.
The next few moments happened both quickly and almost like time has slowed at the same time.
Graywolf's body slammed into the ground, ears ringing. Her cheek burned as fresh claw marks scored across the gray fur, the crimson color of blood bubbling from beneath and dripping against the white surroundings. Her neck ached from the intensity of the strike from Timberfrost as the tabby launched herself at the gray feline.
Green gaze shook for a moment before focusing in on the still form of her black pelted grandfather. The ringing within her ears faded as realization slowly settled within her rattled head, his chest not rising nor falling, his body no longer fighting as a young Treeclan tom stood tall.
Blackwolf!
There was a snap within Graywolf's chest as emotions and rage rippled through her heart. An ear splitting screech parted her jaw as a new found energy raced through her blood, the lithe she-cat quickly finding her paws with the attempt to barrel into Brackenstride's arrogant form.
Until a glaring pair cerulean pools blocked her path to the tom.
It didn't take but a moment for Graywolf to lash out, claws striking dangerously close to Timberfrost's face before the tabby pulled back. The flurry of claw strikes didn't stop as the enraged feline acted true to her namesake, holding back the larger she-cat.
Her pains long forgotten as her heart burned within her chest, practically unwilling to admit to herself what she had just seen.
