bluefrost Ghost the Undead Goddess they're on their way to the borders... |
[attr="class","hwayoungdia"] Things had been moving rather fast these past couple days, it felt as if Bluefrost had gone from apprentice to mentor in the blink of an eye. Something nagged in the back of her mind, telling her she wasn’t ready to train but Bluefrost did her best to ignore that feeling. If she was assigned to train she would do the best she could, you can’t really say ‘no’ to becoming a mentor, that’s part of what being a warrior is all about, after all. [break][break] Bluefrost hadn’t slept well since her vigil, she found herself waking up at odd hours of the night, groggy and confused. She would take a walk in the cold moonlight and wander back to the warrior’s den, silent, like a phantom, and lay still until her mind shut off and she floated back to sleep for as long as she could manage. The warrior had been awake since yesterday sunhigh when she approached Windpaw in the apprentice’s den. Bluefrost’s thick winter coat puffed up against the frosty mid-day wind brushing itself across her back, her soft, looming shadow covered what light let into the apprentice den. She looked at Windpaw with a neutral stare and then flicked her head towards the edge of camp.[break][break] “Let’s go,” was all she said, not looking back to see if her apprentice followed her. She just kept moving. Bluefrost felt admittedly a little awkward training a cat, she wasn’t too good in conversations and was worried she wouldn’t communicate the correct knowledge to her apprentice. She didn’t want to confuse and overwhelm Windpaw, but the thought overwhelmed Bluefrost in turn. From across the camp the warrior heard her name.[break][break] “Bluefrost!” Robinwind, a lithe calico she-cat, trotted up to Bluefrost and her trailing apprentice, “are you leaving camp?”[break][break] The gray she-cat narrowed her eyes slightly and nodded her head. “Training, she muttered, flicking her tail in Windpaw’s direction. Robinwind looked toward Windpaw and gave a reassuring smile. [break][break] “I know this is your first day of training but per Firestar’s requirements I need to come with you. Foxes, you know. ” The calico’s eyes were apologetic and she shrugged. [break][break] Bluefrost felt her stomach twinge. She didn’t want anyone else to hear her talk to her apprentice on the first day, plus rumor had it there was only one fox left. Bluefrost wasn’t sure how big it was but the thought of a fox ambush severely outweighed her embarrassment.[break][break] “Y-yeah, sure. It’s just the borders.” Bluefrost slowly began walking forward with Robinwind on her side and Windpaw behind her. [break][break] “I’ll trail ahead,” the calico offered, “I wouldn’t want to get in your way.” Robinwind trotted ahead of the mentor and apprentice, a quick gust of icy wind blew from behind them, as if to push them forward. |
