If it feels good, tastes good, it must be mine...

LF 27: The clouds are gone from the sky and the sun weakly warms the land. (Two days before the Gathering and the TC/NC branch trail fight)
Darkstorm was growing more and more restless about the state of the branch trail, namely that it was still being marked as TreeClan territory and their filthy stench was all over what should belong to NightClan. Too many seasons had passed and nothing had been done. Nothing 'official' at least. No orders from Foxstar about retaliation, about taking back what was rightfully theirs, about teaching TreeClan to think twice about challenging NightClan. Nothing.
If she hadn't had apprentices to train the last few seasons she might have already done something more concrete about it than simply continuing to hunt there as though nothing had ever happened, but ensuring Graywolf, and now Gracklepaw, got a proper education and became warriors NightClan could be proud of, warriors who could prevent the future stealing of NightClan land, took up much of her free time. Apprentices reflected on their mentors, and she was determined that hers would be the proof of her own skills as she passed on all she knew to each younger cat she was entrusted with. It was the culmination of Blackwolf's knowledge and skill as well, passed through her in an endless legacy. She wouldn't let him down either.
However, she was growing tired of waiting when she had the ability to take matters into her own claws, and if something wasn't done soon, she would. And she knew for a fact she wasn't the only one that felt this way. Padding back into camp, night having fallen while she was out for a dusk hunt, she headed for the freshkill pile to deposit her catch of a frog and two mice, tail flicking irritably behind her. She hadn't taken any prey for herself today, but she found her appetite lacking. The sight of Briarthroat gave her pause, and after a moment's consideration she left her catch for the rest of the Clan to enjoy and stalked over to the older tom, wasting little time with pleasantries as she approached and getting to the heart of the matter, “I have some questions for you, Briarthroat.”
She could air her concerns here in the middle of camp for the Clan to hear or they could speak privately, it didn't matter to her. Either way, she was determined to get some answers about just what their leaders planned to do about the current situation with TreeClan, and if she didn't like the answers she would make her own plans.
Heroes always get remembered, but you know Legends never die.
