Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes Exhaling loudly, Sunnyheart dropped the freshly caught rabbit on the fresh-kill pile, panting slightly. It was a hard won bit of prey. He had gone hunting with his sister Galestorm and basked in the glory of a good hunt, nevermind he was quietly missing Larkflower. The she-cat who had quickly become one of his greatest friends often occupied his thoughts. Not that he minded. She helped him more then she'd ever truly know. Her cheerful nature and clever way of coaxing him to talk helped with his grief over his adoptive fathers. The loss of them was like a hole in his chest, but Larkflower had helped fill it in. She took root in the sad parts and helped them bloom into something beauitful.
Giving his sister a gentle and a thank you for hunting with him, he parted from the fresh-kill pile and sought out Larkflower. The rumor of her being Wildcall's daughter had come full circle in the Clan. It started with an old flame of the tom-cat mentioning that she scented loner on him one time and wondered if he had been visiting her often. It was an unspoken truth that Wildcall was flighty with his mates and never bothered to stick around beyond a few evenings shared in a warm nest. Sunnyhart personally never saw the point. He preferred a slightly unorthodox, by LightingClan standard, view to courtship and romance. He didn't want to bounce from nest to nest but settle down with a single true love, sort of how Firestar and Russetfall were in love. He admired them for a variety of reasons, staying true to each other was one of them.
Realizing how distracted he had gotten, Sunnyheart gave himself a little shake and spotted Poppythorn. Heading over to the she-cat he drew her attention before asking her a question. "Have you seen Larkflower?"
"I think she went hunting or something, I don't know," She replied before leaving Sunnyheart and heading for the warrior den. Dejected, Sunnyheart sat down and tucked his tail over his paws. He missed her. It wasn't easy to tell when she'd be back. For all, he knew she'd be hunting the rest of the day and any hopes of visiting with her would be lost. Glancing toward where his sister was now sitting and talking with her apprentice, he sighed. If only he had suggested Larkflower to join them he'd be back with her now and just hanging out.
Deciding to wait a little while, Sunnyheart and moved to lay down, his head on his paws.

The fluffy she-cat was a little dejected after her hunt. She hadn't caught anything. In fact she'd slid right into a prickle bush and was now covered in burrs. She'd be hours cleaning out her fur to make it pretty again, and it really mattered to her that she look nice. She'd also been spending a little time with Wildcall, and found she didn't like the tom. She knew the rumors circulating about him being a nest hopper, but she chose to ignore them. He was Firestar's son, so she'd wanted to meet him and speak with him. He made her pelt crawl. She did favor him though, but some cats could be totally unrelated and look similar to each other. She didn't think much of it anymore. Her duties were hunting for the clan, patrols when she was assigned them, and keeping a certain large tom from getting too melancholy. She took these things very seriously. So when Poppythorn told her that Sunnyheart had been looking for her her ears perked up and she trotted around looking for him. The big tom made hunting much easier for her, his size meant he hit hard, and her speed could flush out prey much easier. Her problem had always been that she was dainty, too light weight to take out much. At least she wasn't tripping over her paws anymore like she had as a kit. That had been embarrassing. She had also tried to keep herself busy since the death of Wildstripe. At least he wasn't in pain anymore, so that was some solace. When she finally spotted him she mewed out a greeting and trotted over to where he was sitting with his sister. "Sunnyheart!" She was happy to see him, but then she usually liked to think she was happy to see everyone. She went up to him and butted her head against his shoulder in greeting before plopping on her rump and starting to pick out the burrs. "I slid into a sticker bush." Hellion

Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes His eyes had closed so he didn't see Larkflower enter the camp but he did catch her scent. Opening them he smiled as she came closer to him. Returning the nudge of her head to his, he felt a purr rumble in his chest. Galestorm, his sister, rose up and hurried off. She mutter something about not wanting to invade.
Confused what she meant by that, Sunnyheart focused his attention to Larkflower. Realizing how badly the sticker bush had attacked her fur he let out a chuckle. Scooting closer, he smiled softly, mostly to himself. "Let me help," He meowed gently, starting with the hard to reach places, he took his time to work each burr out of her fur.
He had to admit he was impressed. The amount that managed to cover her fur probably meant there was a fairly bare bush out there in the territory. Setting a rhythm for himself, he created a decent pile of them before he paused.
"Aside from fighting with a sticker bush, what else how you been up to?" He asked, head tilting slightly genuinely curious.

"Thank you." She told him as she kept picking them out as well, making a much less organized pile on her other side as she both tried to help and not move too much where Sunnyheart was picking at her pelt. She giggled a little when he asked her what she'd been doing, making a little purring sound of pleasure that he was even interested in what she'd been doing. "Hunting mostly. Badly at that. Its a little annoying that most of the rabbits are as big or bigger than I am, and the small ones stay hidden in their warrens where I can't get to them. I did manage to catch a few mice for the prey pile though." She was proud of herself for those mice, even if they were much smaller fare than some of the larger cats could bring in on their own. "I've finally stopped tripping over my own paws for the most part. How about you?" She pinned her tail down and started picking the burrs out of it mercilessly. She hated having messy fur around Sunnyheart. Hellion

Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes He purred with pride on her behalf as she talked about adding to the prey pile. Glancing toward it and spotting them, he smiled. Even if they were small they would feed a clanmate and Larkflower had worked hard to get them. Her effort were commendable.
"That is great you caught something," He offered in praise. Pulling the last few burrs from her coat and carefully scooting them away from both of them. He'd have to get a leaf or moss ball to properly dispose of them outside of the camp. The last thing he wanted was for a clanmate to get them stuck or worse, being scratched and it resulting in an infection.
"We should go hunting together more often," He thought aloud, tucking a little closer to her. Smiling warmly in her direction. "You are quicker then me so you can flush them out and I can bring them down," He mused further, picturing the two of them working in tandem to bring down enough rabbits to feed all of the apprentices. "If you want I mean, not sure if you got another hunting parnter or anything," He added as an afterthoguht, suddeningly aware that Larkflower might have more close friends then just him. The idea stirred the small pot of jealously that always bubbled up when he thought of Larkflower spending her freetime without him.

"I'd really like that. We do hunt well together don't we?" She purred a little, noticing that he'd scooted closer now that she wasn't covered in burrs. She thought about it only a moment then butted her head under his chin in a display of affection. She didn't do it for long, just a quick little but before sitting up straight again. When he asked if she had another hunting partner she could only giggle. "Only when I manage to catch my brother to hunt with me." She saw Shadow less and less these days, and though she knew he'd always be in her heart, maybe it was time to just admit that he wasn't cut out for clan life and let him go. He didn't want to be part of a clan, and spent more time away from the territory than in it now that she was well grown and could take care of herself. She loved her brother, but he had his own life and she had hers here in LightningClan. Two different lives. She flicked her tail out behind her then sat and scooted so she could lean against the large tom. "I like hunting with you better though. As long as you're with me, I know I'm safe no matter what comes at us while we're out together. I'm glad I decided to stay in this clan, and that Firestar let me stay. I'm happier here than I'd have ever been as a loner." She peeked up at him, a little embarrassed as she tested the waters as it were. "Unless you were with me, then no matter where I was I'd be safe and everything would be okay." Hellion

Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes He smiled at her display of affection, matching it with his own gentle nudge. A rumble of a purr moving through his chest, eyes close peacefully at the moment. Then she sat back. On reflex, his body moved to follow her, but he stopped and settled back.
She mentioned Shadow and Sunnyheart couldn't help but be a little uneasy about it. While he knew that Shadow wouldn't cause her harm, he hadn't gotten Firestar's permission to be allowed in the territory. If ever they stumbled upon him while hunting together he was duty-bound to chase him away. He hoped to never have to raise a claw to Larkflower's brother and he dreaded to even think about it.
As she moved to lean against him, Sunnyheart did his best to let her get as close as possible. His larger frame made him easier to lean against. She went on to talk about enjoying hunting with him and his heart soared and so did his pride as a young warrior. Being recognized as someone strong enough to be relied on did wonders for Sunnyheart's confidence. He needed it.
Then she went on to mention her own loner-birth, like his own. While he was taken in young enough to really only knew life as a LightningClan cat, Sunnyheart found peace in her words. He felt the same, as long as she was with him he felt invincible. He could and would do anything to keep her happy and safe.
"I'll walk beside you until my paws give out and even then I'll still try to be there for you," He replied, resting his head on her's, his height advantage to make it comfortable. Fond memories of his adoptive father Flashbrook making such a gesture to his adopted dad Burningleaf emerged, making the moment he shared with her special, one he wanted to last forever.

She giggled as they cuddled in close to one another, his body so big that his purr tickled her much smaller frame. It was nice being able to just sit with someone and feel perfectly safe and content. With everything that had happened recently, with death and time moving on despite broken hearts, sometimes she didn't feel very content at all. And with Sunnyheart she felt safe. He was big and strong and could do anything. She'd believed that since she first met him, as she believed it of Wildstripe. Big toms were meant to protect the clan, and the smallest she-cats. But perhaps she was a romantic on that account. When he spoke she purred loudly and wrapped her tail around her paws so that she was tucked perfectly against him. "If your paws give out I'll just have to drag you back to Kindleflare. It might take me awhile, but I'll manage it." She took a breath, still smiling and content. "Sunnyheart? Do you believe in fate? I mean, do you think things happen for a reason? I don't think StarClan controls our fate, we make that ourselves, but some things are simply meant to happen when they happen. Rather to higher power or chance. But what do you think?" She believed that if two spirits were meant to be together they'd find their way to one another somehow or the other. They could be littermates, or a parent and offspring, or even mates. Different times each chance incarnation gave them, but always finding their way to be together. Hellion

Love doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes He had tucked close to her and felt the call of an mid-day nap when her question prompted him to pay better attentoin. He gave a content huff, shifting his shoulders into a shrug. "I like the idea that everything happens for a reason, I had to be left in that snow cover tunnel so I could be found by Flashbrook and Burningleaf it wasn't easy but it worked out in the end, I get to be a warrior of LightningClan," He hoped that had been the answer she was looking for.
Truthfully he hadn't put much thought into it but did find comfort with the idea. Everything would work out, hard times made the good times special. In the end, all that mattered to him was that he got to spend his time with those he cared about. Larkflower and his sibling, in that order.
Pressing his nose to her cheek, he gave a soft, careful nudge. "We should head into the warrior's den before the rain starts again, a nap sound nice." He prompted, sensing the change in the weather. "I promise to keep you warm," He added with a slight chuckle.
