Name: Oppossum
Age: 7 Moons
Gender: tom
Clan: None
Rank: Loner
Picture:
Description: Opossum is best described as scrawny with an extra side of mange; he does not have mange. Never did. His wiry and patchy fur is just his "natural" appearance. With the short white tipped black hairs covering only his main body and head, his bald legs and face give him the most laughable features. Coupled with his lanky frame and large erect ears, the small tom can easily be the center of another's joke. Its no wonder his mother deemed him worthy of his name, as his looks easily mimic that of the Virginia Opossum, aside from his wide, rich gold eyes.
Description Summary: Lanky, wiry furred gray-black tom with round yellow eyes and a bald face.
Personality: Easy going, aloof, impish, and your typical boy. This young male hardly takes an insult personally and will quickly bounce back even if offended. Often times, he will join in with others making fun of his appearance if just to fit in. Because of his looks, the tom tries his best to show he's worth having around and can preform his tasks and duties just as with any other cat, whether or not he's actually cut out for the job.
Sweet in nature, Opossum makes friends quickly. Or, at least, he thinks he makes friends. Simply having one conversation with the tom might put you right on his "best friends list" for what may seem like no reason. Unfortunately this easy personality can lead him to seem absent minded or lazy. Which isn't exactly far from the truth. Despite his efforts to prove his worth to others, the cat would rather not do anything in the field of physical exertion.
History: Opossum was born to a loner she-cat along with two siblings, another tom and a she-kit. At first, his "furry" predicament seemed like it was just a new-born kitten problem as they where their mother's first litter. But after a time it was clearly apparent that Opossum was forever doomed with a balding problem. With wiry, white tipped hairs and balding features, the tom-kit was the butt of his more normal looking siblings. Despite their some times painful jibes about really being an opossum, he never took it to heart.
The three grew up as expected, all of them showing traits that would help them succeed in life while being trained for survival by their mother. It seemed the only set back Opossum had was his wiry, bald-ish appearance, as his lanky frame allowed him to move quicker and lighter than his heavier litter-mates. Climbing was easier for him, making him quiet exceptional at chasing squirrels or ambushing mice from above. When he did manage to keep his haughty excitement in check and actually stalk his prey, that is.
Eventually, curiosity and an argument with his sister caused the young tom to set out on his own, though he quickly regretted the decision. Without the attentive guidance of his mother, however, Opossum found himself rightly lost.
RP Example: N/A
Other: OOC- I found that the Lykoi genetic condition can be found in the average community of domestic shorthairs. Though not common enough to be noted, it is possible. Therefor, Opossum is not a member of the Lokoi, "Werewolf cat", but a moggie exhibiting the mutation. The mutation affects nothing but their hair follicles, allowing for the "roan" coloration and balding, and though the moulting can affect the entire body at one time, it is not for long.
