No time to be lazy, the journey is perfect,
the pace is so crazy, the race is so worth it.

the pace is so crazy, the race is so worth it.
It had only been a couple days since he and his sister had become apprentices at last, and the two of them had been rather busy with their respective mentors, but Snakepaw was determined to spend some time with his sister tonight. Honeywhisker had been assigned to the dusk patrol so they wouldn't be training until later in the night, maybe not til after moonhigh. That left him plenty of time to spend with Scrap. Scrap-paw. Though he supposed that also depended on her mentor.... Maybe he had been assigned to the dusk patrol too. That would be convenient. Hopefully.
He had adjusted well to NightClan's nocturnal schedule, much preferring to the cool, dark nights to the too bright day that made his eyes hurt and his skin burn. So he woke at dusk quite ready to begin his night, curled in a nest beside his sister in the apprentice's den. He raised his head to glance around the dark den before rising to his paws, arching his back in a luxurious stretch. He shook his out fur and without another moment's hesitation pounced playfully right on top of his sister, “Snake bite!”
He tugged at her ear in his silly signature move he had invented when playing with his siblings moons ago as kits, and rolled off her almost as soon as he'd landed, laughing as he tore out of the den before she would have a chance to retaliate. She'd have to catch him if she wanted to pay him back for the rude awakening. He skidded to a halt before he nearly crashed into a dark tortoiseshell she-cat padding by with two other she-cats. She turned a narrowed ember colored gaze on him and he grinned sheepishly up at her, but the trio moved on without a word to him, heading for the camp entrance and disappearing up the slope that led out into the pine forest. Oops, that was close. The distraction made him forget he'd been running from his sister.
I will be with you, we'll do this together.
Always together.
Always together.
