Ravenstar padded out to the Boulder Ledge and sat for a moment, allowing her Clan to go on with whatever they were doing as she gathered her thoughts. She had been observing Bluekit for the past couple days. The young she-cat always seemed to be by herself, and she worried a little. Then she remembered that Bluekit was around 6 moons now. After observing the kit for another day, she decided she would hold her apprentice ceremony.
Standing, she yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below the Boulder Ledge for a Clan meeting!" Sitting once more, she waited for her Cats to gather and rethought her choice of mentor for the mute kit. She deserved a chance, however, and the fact that they both had a... disibility, might bring them closer.
Wolfheart padded out of the cavern after hearing Ravenstar's summon echo through it and stood gazing up at her a few paces away, wondering what exactly she had called the Clan for.

Bluekit heard Ravenstar's yowl in the nursery. She padded out of the nursery, the other kits and their mothers following them. She stopped a few feet away from the ledge. Bluekit watched as the other warriors walked out of their dens, and near the ledge too. Confused murmurs washed through the crowds. Bluekit herself was confused. What could possibly be going on tonight?

A glimpse of dark red fur flashed from the warriors den. Her darker splotches looked dim and beautifully subtle next to her bloody red color of her pelt. Madheart stoped a moment and observed seeing Bluekit siting alone then let her dark blue hues land on wolfheart then up to Ravenstar. Looks like a cerimony.. she thought to herself before troting over to the far edge of the clearing. She was close enough to her leader without being to close. She liked it that way, seeing as she was like an outsider in her own clan. No one had the guts to talk to her, she wasnt crazy, she just saw things...things other couldnt.
"Looks like a meeting." a dark voice murmered.
Madheart tilted her head slightly to it, pressing her lips together angrily. She wanted to tell it to shut up and that she knew what a creimony looked like. She decided against it though, she didnt need to embarress herself in front of the whole clan talking to the illusion.
"Now Madheart, your hurting my feelings not talking to me." he mewed darkly.
"Shut up!" she hissed under her breath " before i make you", it was barley above a whisper so no one else could hear.
"You promise?"
Madheart just about had it with its seductive and rude remarks. But used all her self control to contain herself, keeping her gaze calm as she waited for the meeting to continue.

Seeing that most of the Clan had gathered, namely the two cats that needed to be here, she curled her tail neatly around her paws and spoke in a more normal tone, "I have called you here to see a new apprentice named... a kit far more than ready to begin her training." Her pale amber gaze fel gently upon Bluekit, "Step forward, Bluekit." She nodded encouragingly and waited for the she-cat to come forward before speaking again, "I, Ravenstar, leader of NightClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this young cat. She has reached six moons and is ready to learn your ways and your code. Bluekit, from this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Bluepaw."
She paused to let the new name sink in for a moment before continuing, her gaze shifting to Madheart, "Madheart, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Bluepaw's mentor." She braced herself for any calls of disapproval at her choice. However cold Ravenstar might seem to the other Clans and often even in her own Clan, she was deeply loyal to each and every cat under her guidance and beleived that every one of them deserved a chance to prove themselves. For Madheart, successfully training an apprentice, especially an apprentice many cats might see as unfit to becoming a warrior simply because she can not speak, might very well gain the young warrior the respect of her Clan mates.
Wolfheart's jade green gaze widened slightly at the cat Ravenstar had named. He turned to look at Madheart then, wondering what she would do. She was always rather unpredictable, it seemed, and very strange with all her talking to herself.... He wondered if it was safe entrusting an apprentice to her....

Bluepaw was shocked. She almost cried. Out of all the kits, she was an apprentice. She was so tied up in her thoughts she almost didn't hear her mentor. Madheart? She had seen Madheart around camp during her observations and had heard from the queens in the nursery. As a kit, she apparently watched her parents kill each other. From then on, she's been hearing voices of other cats, and hallucinating them. The queens think she's downright insane.
Bluepaw didn't pity Madheart at all. What was to pity? She had seen something that scarred her life, and has been thinking of it every since. That's not insanity. That's pain. Bluepaw knew what it felt like, and she understood why Ravenstar had paired them up. Bluepaw silently thanked Ravenstar and StarClan for this opportunity. She patiently sat there, waiting for Madheart to move.

The grey and white she cat padded out from her den, one of her paws slightly sticky from handling the herbs that she had been neatly sorting into their correct places, and sat amongst the other gathered cats her ears pricked well up in order to hear what was going on. She guessed that it was a ceremony, an apprentice one as the young Bluekit was sat proudly at her side. Purring to herself she thought how good it would be for the Clan to have more warriors, but then she thought that it would mean more cats to heal when they got into a battle. Shaking away that negative thought she focused on the positive. Misthearts blue eyes on Ravenstar. [/color]

Madheart pushed the illusions voice out of her mind though she knew he was still there, watching her. Taking a deep breath her dark blue hues lifted up to Ravenstar. Her ears pirked at the sound of her voice and listened patiently as she proceeded. Madheart rolled her eyes. Yes a meeting, a meeting for Bluekit to be Bluepaw. Woo she made it to be 6 moons...the 'lucky' mentor is....Madheart....blah blah HUH?! Madhearts eyes widened in alarm. "Are you serious?! and you say im mad!" she yowled shaking her head befor glancing over at Wolfheart. The untrust in his eyes was clear as the nose on his face. Her gaze narrowed into slits. "I'll be happy to take on Bluepaw as my apprentice." she mewed dipping her head to Ravenstar. "Thanks." she muttered geting to her paws.
"Bravo, you got a new apprentice.." he mewed.
"Can it, ghosty no one was talking to you." she grumbled trotting over to Bluepaw. She put on her best smile. "Hey there Bluepaw." she greeting the new apprentice gently. Her voice pretty even, and even polite. "Why dont we work on a system. When you want me to demonstrate something again for you, like say i showed you a hunting technique and you wanted to see it again just flicked you tail three times. Ok?" she asked befor etouching her nose to the apprentices traditionally. Siting down she swiped her tail over her paws.

A shadow of a warrior held himself away from the crowd on the edge of camp, amber eyes intent on finding his kin. However, the other dark cat had made himself scarce, with no sign left. Feeling no rejoyce, or even humility for the lack of peace, Blackpaw found his thoughts still away to the cat whom he had admired.
No more had the youngest found himself at his brother's tail, for it seemed that Darkpaw was constantly away and busy. Although, desiring to torment Lunarpaw was beginning to subside.
He flinched as the ceramony ended, but did not return up and slunk away. Where was his mentor anyway? There had been almost no training since the death of his former...

Bluepaw looked up at her new mentor. She nodded her head at the new system. Bluepaw gladly touched noses with Madheart. She was a tad confused though. This she-cat had just politely made a system with her, a smart one at that. This was the mad cat she heard so much about? She quickly cleared her mind of the thought. Bluepaw might learn later on. She bowed her head to Madheart and Racvenstar and waited for the next move.

Madheart waited patiently for the apprentices reply. Turning her head to lick at a few tussled hairs on her sholdor. Her tail flicked towards the illusion that was glaring at her from behind. She slightly tilted her head to see its expresion, he looked surprised, almost thoughtful. Making her eyes narrow at him she turned her head back to her newly made apprentice. Relaxing her face into a kind and serine look, a side not many cats got to see of her.
"Wow that was a good system, did you come up with it all by yourself?" he replied darkly, leting out a low hiss like chuckle.
Madheart ignored him and smiled as Bluepaw nodded. A wide grin flashed on her pretty face "Good." she purred gently. "Do you want to start training now, or do you want a day?" she asked blinking. "A nod for yes and a head shake for later." she added being kind about the she-cats disabily. In her mind nothing was wrong with her, she could speak as well as any other cat, you just have to watch her emotions and movements. Which was good seeing as she was a good observer, maybe this would turn out to be a good thing.

Surprised no cat called out, Ravenstar breathed a sigh of relief that at least those cats that disapproved were keeping it to themselves. Watching as Madheart reacted to herself being named the newly named Bluepaw's mentor, her tail twitched with amusement. It had obviously come as a shock to the young warrior. She hoped that this would show Madheart that she did have faith in her, even if being around her made the leader a bit wary.
Standing and addressing the Clan after Madheart and Bluepaw touched noses, she waited for the familiar calling of an apprentice by their new name to die down before she spoke once more, "I declare this meeting over, you are all dismissed." She leapt nimbly down from the boulder and padded over to Madheart and Bluepaw, nodding to Madheart before looking down at Bluepaw. "Congratulations Bluepaw, work hard and I'm sure Madheart will have you trained up to become a warrior in no time," she purred encouragingly before nodding to them both once more and padding back down the tunnel into the main camp and back to her den.
Shaking himself briefly, Wolfheart stood as Ravenstar dismissed the Clan and stared over at Madheart and Bluepaw as Ravenstar walked over and said something to them. he didn't hear what it was, but he padded over as well when she padded away. Clearing his throat slightly, he gave Madheart a short glance before focusing on Bluepaw. It wasn't that he thought ill of Madheart, she just made him a bit nervous, which wasn't easy to do to a seasoned warrior like Wolfheart, "Good luck you two...." Unsure what else to say, he padded after Ravenstar back into the heart of NightClan's camp. At least he was trying.

Bluepaw thanked Wolfheart for the awkward good luck. She turned back to Madheart. She's probably in shock from finally getting an apprentice, Bluepaw thought. She would want a night to think it over. I know I do. Bluekit shook her head, indicating that they should train later. She pressed her tail against Madheart's flank. With her tail she spelled on the ground, "Good night. I look forward to training with you tomorrow." She turned and headed towards the apprentice's den. She paused and looked back at the nursery. She would miss the protection and soft beds. She might even miss the queens. Maybe the kits as well. With a deep breath, she continued walking to the apprentice's den, happy to be one step closer to becoming a warrior.

*Stoneshadow watched the ceremony with a mixture of happiness and sadness. He was glad little Bluepaw would have a mentor that was good for her, but he was a little dismayed that it wasn't him. He wished he could have an apprentice, but many cats probably thought him too playful to take the job seriously. Ah well. If Madheart gets a shot, I will too eventually. I just have to wait my turn. Feeling better, Stoneshadow drew his paw over his ear and trotted over to Madheart with a good-natured smile on his face. The she-cat didn't bother him. So she talked to herself. So what? He touched his tail to her shoulder.* Congradulations, Madheart. I am sure you will do a wonderful job. Care to celebrate by sharing a mouse with me? *Oh, he was pouring on the charm, but he really didn't mind her company. He was a flirt and it couldn't be helped.*

Madheart swept her dark blue gaze over the apprentice, watching carefully as she made a message in the air. She smiled, catching on to it quickly. "Alright then," she grined "Go get some rest." she replied watching the young apprentice go uneasily into the apprentices den and giggled lightly. Though her memories of apprenticeship wern't so pleasing. But didnt mean that she would let Bluepaws be the same. She would do whatever it took for her apprentice not to go through that.
Congradulations, Madheart. I am sure you will do a wonderful job. Care to celebrate by sharing a mouse with me?
Madheart lifted her head to a sound that did not belong to any illusion. She knew each voice by now. Blinking in surprise she pressed her lips together.
" little weasel." the illusion mewed darkly apparently annoyed by the toms presence and charm.
Madhearts eyes beamed with satisfaction from the illusions annoyance, and flashed Stoneshadow a pretty little smile. "Sure." she replied fluttering her eye lashes expertly, like she had been flirting all her life. Which wasnt true obviously, but i guess it just came natural like a female instinct.

*Stoneshadow chuckled as Madheart flirted back. He liked it when she-cats did that. Most of the time he got an irratated go away or an over-excited squeal that hurt his ears. But a nice equal reaction to his action? That was what caught the prey! He flicked his tail for her to follow and lead the way over to the fresh kill pile with an honest grin.* I said mouse, but really I am fine with anything. What would you like?
